Thank You!!
And thank you.
Hi ... I purchased the Motivo and last week and received it on Friday and am still evaluating it. I've use Volumio quite a bit in my RasPi days but it is horribly slow on the unit and just about unusable AND the pretty little volume control is very hard to use without pressing it down and turning off the unit - Put a small piece self adhesive foam on it and it works great now... . That said, using this unit with Tidal Connect is super easy to use and it sounds great and I suspect it may improve after a few hours of usage. Michelangelo was a little dismissive at your suggestion of an external linear power supply, which one do you suggest. I usually use my Ayras balanced, would I be able to run a cable from the two 3 pin xlr's to twin 3.5mm if I can get a cable?? Enjoyed the video btw.
Cheers ... Philip
UPDATE!!!!
I bought a new network cable and Volumio is now working at full speed. It responds instantly and is sounds amazing. Thank you for great support from the Volumio team.
Hi Philip, thanks for your feedbacks! Our customer care will contact you ASAP to help you with your questions
I'm allready looking foreward ton the alpha audio review !
It is live now. Check the website!
I've been using Volumio for many years from Raspberry Pi's to fan-less mini PC's. Recently, I purchased the Rivo and currently using it with a KECES P6 power suppply. I'd swear the fan-less mini PC sounds just as good as the Rivo when switching between them, or very close. I also added a Wyred 4 Sound ISO Recovery to clean up the USB a bit further, so far is appears to do just that. Anyone having similar experiences?
Thank you for this! Motivo means exactly the same in Spanish. I had while back the first Primo, which is not the one showed on the video. It was a simple black box. I now looking for a new streamer and this one has one output I want: I2S, but unfortunately, I don't see a way of connecting a tv also. No optical. Am I right?
Thanks
write whether the combination of Yamaha AS2200 and Spendor A7 will be good. Have you ever listened to this system? I'm going to buy a Spender for Yamaha and I don't know if I'm doing it right. Room 20 meters away
Not for me. This is more like a lifestyle product. I wouldn't use the screen nor the dac and headphone outputs in the back? Just add I2s and the other transport improvements to the RIVO II.

Yep. Nice product.
👍👍👍
👉A parametric EQ should be implemented. Also the download of headphone profiles appreciated by the community.
On my Android mobile I have been using Neutron Music Player for years, for me the best of all the ones I have tried, and there are quite a few. Volumio should try to emulate a few of its features.
BTW, the other day I bought a small €13 DAC cable (Ugreen) for a family member. I played Hotel California, 24/96 FLAC from the rip of the best existing edition, the one from the original 1976 US vinyl, DR15, a track that I always use to verify sound changes when I test W10 optimization to reduce JITTER, and the improvement was brutal when using Neutron MP, which allows you to bypass Android's 16/48 restriction. Not so when playing RUclips and others soft players, slaves to the OS audio layer.
There's a pretty good DSP plugin for Volumio which includes parametric EQ, graphic EQ, convolution filters etc.
What is W10 optimization?
What improvement, from what to what? 😊
@@REX4340 Within the CPU, JITTER is generated in ALU communications internal registers. One of the first things to do is force good software players (JRiver MC and others) to use the AVX2 instruction set.
Obviously you have to avoid the Windows audio layer.
@@matytinman ah!

Does a streamer sound as good as a cd player or play your own files ?
It can... Just like vinyl, tape, etc...
I agree with clean power , Playing file local is my favorite when I upsample RUclips music it can even sound better than other online music.
If you look at their OEMs it's impressive
Power supply upgrade is not worth it says Hans Beekhuyzen
Yes. I noticed! We will check it out asap!
It was hinted to stay tuned for an external upgrade PSU by Volumio... I am watching this. I don't know if there is any special synergy issues between the PSU's tried by Hans and the input filtering of the Motivo, but I guess @TheAlphaAudio will test this extensively. :)
@@zorqis we definitely will!
Not for me...stop building streamers with dacs please ..or al least offer the option 🙏 and the big red button 😟 also offer black option
There are loads of options... The Rivo for example?
I know but offer this also without the dac, most of us will upgrade the dac anyway. Nothing against Volumio 😊 same for Eversolo, Atoll, Wiim,....
@@justasimplefox there are digital outputs.
@@TheAlphaAudio We know, but what we want is just a streamer, and be the best at it with no other fluff thrown in, like a mediocre dac that the engineers have to implement and takes away from being a great streamer and adds cost to the consumer. Less is more.
@@dicmccoy If I may ask... Who is 'we'? The market for a streaming bridge - a streamer without a dac - is small... Very small even. So, I think you are talking about a niche that would love to have an affordable streaming bridge with a touch screen. That is not really an interesting product to develop for a relatively small company like Volumio. Think about it: you need to develop it, produce it, distribute it... Guarantee it... Have spare parts... Etc... All that for a relatively small audience. The market for a full streamer with dac waaaayyy bigger...
