Little tip! For people who are just starting out, if you can do the baby energy beam that looks like an upside down U, then think of it like this, your extending that U out to be longer. So basically, don’t go just left and right, you need to go down and make a Long U. Its really well demonstrated at the 20:50 you need to make sure to go down instead of just a straight line. This took me awhile to realize, but if you can do that. Then you can do the energy beam.

My first slinky trick on my first slinky. My slinky got tangled at least once in each of the four practice sessions, but I untangled it and continued. I almost can't believe I can actually kinda do it! Thanks, Slinky Josh!

I was just slinking it back and forth trying to feel the energy moving through the slinky, and trying to pull or push when it felt most tense, and after only 20 minutes I feel like I can already do it pretty well! Definitely still need more practice, but I can actually suspend the slinky up in the air now instead of letting gravity make it flop.
my metal slinky arrived today, didn't know that metal is no good and it is also way too long, but i managed the energy beam in like 10 min, now i'm waiting for the slinky i ordered from your website

I mean I guess you did, and I'm sure 40 minutes doesnt even begin to actually cover the depths of what it takes to master these basics. Either way though bro, cool stuff. I'm trying this, and getting somewhere, but my old plastic slinky is pretty worn down and very very easy to stretch, it essentially doesn't properly pull itself after, no matter how hard you pull. (Over exaggerating, but it doesn't remotely act like yours, its almost like a coiled up rope lol) nonetheless, i think im getting somewhere where i can manage it to do some stuff even after just 30 minutes- (to be fair, im relatively good at rhythmic motions and resonance frequencys)
I notice you don't use the original metal slinky in any of your videos.. Does the tricks work the same way? I'm assuming it would be somewhat different due to the weight of the slinky?

The metal ones bend permanently and it is just better with plastic, doesn't hurt as much,less metal noise,ect
