Could be time for another Trash to Treasure series of videos - especially if there's one that looks like anyone could bring it back with easily accessible tools (might be useful to set up in case there's a harsh winter coming)
Really nice video, you showed us stuff we would never see normally. Thank you Johnny, lots beautiful guns and great info. Hope you and your family had a good Christmas.
@ fingers crossed then for the win and can’t wait to see what it is! The more I watch these videos the more convinced I am I need a SxS for no other reason than everyone should own one.
I always find the background music you choose interesting. I bet you listen to, or at least heard of. Mumford and sons. I love them. I've listened to them since they came out.
Just picked up s NOS Lanber Sporter from this auction. It has a little shop soiling, but it still had its warranty tag. I daren't shoot this holy grail of a gun.🤣
26:56 soli is a good gun! 28:37 Yes, MK is made roughly and clumsily, but in this roughness there is sophistication... and also strength and durability. MC 8 of the Soviet skeet shooting athlete Tsuranov fired more than 1,000,000 shots and is stored in the TsKIBSOO museum. And the barrel geometry of all MCs is made to be conical with a transition from 18.5 to 18.4, so the shot is very sharp. There is a collector in Canada who has about 8 MS guns... brand new, unfired... from the 70's. This copy of the MC 7 is a good gun for a collection.. all MTs that were made before 1983 and were completely unfired are a good investment for a personal collection. 32:19 ergonomics like Breda Antares but only visually))!
Now that the bids are in I can coment. I saw the Gambas, and I was bidding on them even before the video, lol. I hope I get them. The 682 super sport in the video is the same 682 you had showed on the previous sealed bid, it just didn't sell in the Jun/July auction. It is a good gun. Thanks for the videos, it helps with the bids and things that we may have overlooked.
Yes I did, I got the Daytona. I am very interested on the top locking Gambas though. They are very attractive and they seem to be solid guns. Did you win anything?
Make sure we see what you buy johnny. I honestly wonder how long Johnny is there looking at everything. Im a yank but would love to see Holts in person it looks amazing.
He picked one of mine, too! This seems to happen every bl**dy time. I watch these videos with dread. On the other hand, it does price me out of guns I'd be wiser -if sadder- not to buy. 😢
Hi there! Could you consider reviewing a shotgun with a ‘cripple stock’? As a right-handed, left-eye dominant shooter who can’t help but wink at targets or resort to channeling my inner pirate, it really caught my attention. It seems like a fascinating design, and I’d love to hear your thoughts and see how it performs in a review. If you ever need a professional target-winker for testing, I’m happy to volunteer! Love the videos!
There is actually a lot more than this. So long as it's not automatic, centerfire semiautomatic rifles, or pump action rifles. You can obtain it, with varying levels of difficulty, depending on what part of the UK you are in (or in one of the Crown Dependencies). However, most Brits simply choose not too. That's the real issue. For perspective. There aren't even 200,000 people in the UK who can obtain a rifle. Period. There just isn't an interest. If that is because of laws or culture I can't say. Perhaps both? Whereas there are over triple the number of people who can own a shotgun (I think it's around 1 million?). Therefore, showing anything other than your basic shotgun styles on a YT video, while catering to the British audience. Is kind of pointless. Similarly in Canada (my country), it wouldn't be worth it to show some guns too.
Thanks a bunch for this video!!! It would take me three days to pick up everyone of those pieces and fondle them!!!!!!! Wish you could do the same and make a video of everything! But it would probably be at least a 72 hour flick. I love anything rifle and especially shotgun. Over the years I’ve owned three William Ford shotguns. My very first Ford was a 32” 10gauge under lever hammer gun. It was a very hefty piece at 15 pounds. Fords here in the states are few and far between. Is it true what I’ve learned from a British shotgun “expert” here in Arizona, that Ford was one of the few innovators of shotgun chokes back in the late 1800’s??? My friend told me Ford use to do choking for some of Greener’s guns that were used to win the yearly sporting gun championships. Thanks again for your always interesting videos. Really wish I could meet you when you come to the states for NSSA championships and our sporting clays championship!!! I have been able to shoot the last six months do to a bout of cancer and now starting chemo three weeks ago. When I get better I’d love to visit a shoot you will be attending next year!! First World Skeet Championship I attended in 1976, there was an English skeet shooters on my squad that had just picked up his new Remington 1100 D grade skeet gun from the Remington people. He was a super competitor!!! Also very fun to shoot with!!!
The price of Arrizabalaga is ridiculous. That shotgun has great quality. It should cost three times that price. Together with Mateo Mendicute and Martín Ugarteburu, he is the gunsmith who made the best shotguns in Spain. I insist, I can't believe the starting price of that shotgun. It's a bargain. Thank you
The Rizzini at 300 to 500 pounds would be at the top end $650 US? Am I miscalculating the currency conversion? I would love to know where I could find shotguns priced this way somewhere in the US. By the way, I love watching your You Tube videos!!
It depends a bit what you're after. Anything you could buy from a shop, you should buy from a shop - as you say. However, a lot of shops simply wouldn't buy in a lot of the guns Holt's put up for sale. If you want something odd, or something to restore, Holt's is probably the best place to find it, fees and absent guarantees notwithstanding.
The BROWNING BSS is a much sought after piece! It routinely goes for $2600.00 or so in the States, if it's in 98% or better condition! Mine is in mint condition!
My God, Jonny did you sit on a silver spoon on the car ride north? 🎩 Cracking video, would love to be let loose in that room. You talked very positively about Zoli, why do they get such a bad rap?
@@tgsoutdoors ooooh so actually really good guns but people are upset they take a bath on them? I’ve seen a little 20 bore, little game lux I’ve had my eye on and the reputation kept me from grabbing it. Looked and felt an amazing little thing. Might take the chance now.
One just has to hope that the sudden publicity actually puts people off bidding. If everyone thinks "Oh, cr*p, I'll never be able to afford it now JC has shone his effing spotlight on it!" then the truly dedicated but financially challenged are still in with a chance... Good luck 🤞
Really , asking for more money to watch your videos? Get a job if you can’t live off what you make on your own tube. I quit Sampson boat because Clown boy Leo was always begging for money. Your videos are good watching but sorry ,no money.
The accentuated 'posh' southern accent is coming along splendidly, JC
So 2018 TGS!

Great video! It is wild how much different England is from the US when it comes to this.
It really is!
Can’t wait to see Johnny’s next purchase from this auction 😂
YUP!😂
I can guarantee you it will be something that no one else wants!
@ fingers crossed then for the win and can’t wait to see what it is! The more I watch these videos the more convinced I am I need a SxS for no other reason than everyone should own one.
I never get bored of the sealed bids there’s something for everyone in the sealed bids and some real bargains.
I have the Beretta White Wing Johnny liked. I’ve been looking for a Miroku here in US. I wish they sold for peanuts like they do there.
I always find the background music you choose interesting. I bet you listen to, or at least heard of. Mumford and sons. I love them. I've listened to them since they came out.
Very enjoyable watch. Scrolling through the sealed bid results as you went through.. Liked the zoli which went for £750 which was a bargain.
Great vid, chaps. I love how posh Jonny becomes when he goes to Holts. Please wear a cravat next time you go there 😅
It’s the 4 hour drive with Micheal with brings me back out of the enunciation gutter that Sasha and Owen have dragged me into.
😂😂 guttersnipes
"A kid in a candy shop." Personally, don't like the rail on the Heym, but the other choices are superb. Merry Christmas to you and yours, Jonny!
If I ever get to go the UK again Holts will be where I go
Some interesting finds here. Thanks for sharing
That Spanish 16g at 4:00 is your ruffed grouse and woodcock gun.
THE Spanish 16 sidelock would be my pick, right at home in the northern grouse covers!
Third gun you looked at, the Arizabalaga...perfect excuse for a driven woodcock hunt on the island of Islay....just putting it out there.
Thank you for the nice video ❤
Love your Holts films, maybe next time look at small bore, ie. .410/28g.👍
The prices being stated seem much lower than what I find in the USA. Used sporting shotguns really have much higher price tags when I am looking.
Probably something to do with the crazy bun laws in the UK and people getting out of the game...
great love the holts addition

No, NO, NOOOOO! The gun I picked out weeks ago comes off the rack in the first 10 minutes…😢. Dang you Jonny, DANG you to HECK! 😂

First comment on a first class video
Say no more your words enough.
Thought the barrels on the Fausti looked more browned than blued.
Been in storage most of its life..
Slightly gone off salts usually result in that purple colour appearing as the finish fades.

It’s definitely undervalued, and might go a little Above estimate. It’s not a very popular model here, so would be worth buying and exporting
When holts put all their fees on you mite as well go and get a gun from a shop at less it would have a warranty

@tgsoutdoors The P. Webley and son, Underleaver Boxlock.
What's the potential downside of 2.5 inch chambers?
You can't shoot 2 3/4 carridges

Why do the English refer to 12 gauge as 12 bore and 410 bore as 410 gauge? It's completely backwards.
They were all once known as ‘gauge bore’ (eg 28 gauge bore) and somewhere along the lines we all bastardised it
