Thank you sir. How to find size of steel bars and number of steel bars? How to find spacing of stirrups? Please help us. Once again thank you verymuch. Yours M.Sukumar
Bro, in the no of stirrups when u say length - 2xcover, the unit of length is meter which 5m and cover is 25mm as u said so how can we subtract meter and mm (i.e. 5m - 2x25mm) is it possible?
Sir While finding the number of stirrups , spacing between two stirrups is 25mm so first of all convert it into meters then put the value ... then and then answer will be correct
Hi, To find depth: 5m/16=0.3125m and this the minimum you can have, you can’t round up the number to lower value of 0.3m or 30cm. You should round up to a higher value like 0.32m or 32cm to avoid disaster:) regards
It is concrete cover should be 1,2,3 inches and spacing between strriup will be shown in drawing of beam .that Sir doesn't shows distance between strriups in drawing he suppose etc.
This calculation is useful only to get a rough idea. To find exact values of dimensions and steel area you must need to for more complex calculations considering loads and moment. By the way thanks for this rough calculation.
Bars must be found according to the dia and tensile strength; decrease or increase the number of bars must be inversely proportional to one another. depth can be up to L/36 [in case of concealed beams. am I right?
Dear sir, how can calculate the foundation's column steel rightangle portion's length ? That means 16 mm./ 18mm/20mm steel 's rightangle length how much will come in footing.
Nice info. Thanks and regards. There is an inadvertent mistake in number of stirrups, you should have taken covered length also in m i.e. 2x25/1000, Else it gives wrong answer. N. K. Sharma
How can you directly assume dia of bars and also the spacing between the stirrups and then use those values. Are we not suppose to find what dia bars to use and spacing of stirrups???
Spacing between stirrups should be 6,7,8,9,10 inches it depends upon downward load. The formula to find no of stirrups =(span of beam -2 covers) +1 and divided by distance between one strriup to other strriup which shown in drawing of beam.🇵🇰🙂🙂
Hi Sir , There were 11pillars in ground floor due to plan change in first floor center pillar was removed in first floor plan so distance between two column became 20 feet so builder added beam which now is 20 feet long i am bothered weather it sustain load
Very helpful 🙂 my question is , the beam you designed is a span of 5m,is this beam capable for top load like first floor wall. Or is there any other formula to find those beams with walls on top of them?
Please mention IS code that ur using to design with clause and page No. And maintain same unit in calculation of stirrups. In code they said the minimum depth of beam is l/16 (31cm), how can u reduce it to 30 cm
4% steel is the maximum amount you are allowed in a concrete beam. Be careful - This doesn’t mean your beam will be strong enough for the load it is carrying! See here for how to safely do the calculation: ruclips.net/video/QeSjSkBsRPA/видео.html
How do we know that it can withstand stress or the load? How do you get top bars and bottom bars? Why area of column? You are discussing beam not column
Bro ur teaching skills are amezing...🗣👏 But one small requast to u... Please maintain proper units throughout the problems...and one particular dout in this lecture is ...u found out the amount of steel required in terms of area but i want in terms of weight. So please share your valuable reply.Thnkq🤗
Sir, according to Eurocode2, for the predimensioning stage, beam hight is 500:10=50 t 5o 500:12=41.66, and this according to the the building ductility class, the number of stirrup's repartition it's done on three spaces in the beam lenght..1 and 3rd spaces, thestirups are distributed 2x beam hight/10cm, 2,nd space:rest of the beam lenght/20cm. It does nat matter the design code, you have lack of information in your calculation
@Alex 24 cm2 is the total area of steel required in a beam If need to find nos of rebers u need to take any specific dia of reber ( 12, 14,16..any. ) and then calculate area of steel for single reber using formula (3.14/4)*d*d Divide 20cm2 by above value u will get nos of reber
Great job!!!
But how to calculate the no.of bars & what dia. of bar has been provided in a Beam..
Thank you sir. How to find size of steel bars and number of steel bars? How to find spacing of stirrups? Please help us. Once again thank you verymuch.
Yours

Sir i would like to know if Indian Standard is it same as British standards? Thanks fir your ans....
Thanks.
point of correction. In calculation of no. of stirrups, you either convert 5m to cm or change cover to meter.
What is the topic in reinforced concrete design the formula you use? Thank you for answers
Is it thee same process for designing continuous beam and overhanging beam

Absolutely right
i like it,you explain eveything in detail
Sir While finding the number of stirrups , spacing between two stirrups is 25mm so first of all convert it into meters then put the value ... then and then answer will be correct
Can you show as the complete design for the whole house from roof to footing. Thanks and God bless.
how will be decided about spacing of stirups. is it based on guess?
I am thankful for all your good efforts, Plz can u make a video on the " How to seleect steel dia in colunm, beam or slabs" thanks

Absolutely 👍
How should the 24cm2 steel be distributed in the beam. Also can you explain stirrups, especially cover and spacing.
Thanks a lot brother

Thank you Saad 👍
GREAT JOB! What would be the load capacity of that beam? 5 tons?
Is that formula can be use for any types of beam such as CANTILEVER BEAM, SIMPLY S. B....to find out depth & breath ....?
It was useful , 👍👍
Sir this design if beam is for resided building?
Bcz in IS code and in text book of design of beam the formula and methods are very much different

Waalikum Assalam Sir. A very useful today class. Jazakumullah Khair.
I could follow everything clearly from your video, but what is meant by cover as mentioned in formula for counting stirrups?
It is clear cover ..and as rod starts placing just inside the concrete right...length in-between bar to edge of beam..
Sir small mistake cover is provide to bheem 25mm... So you have not convert in metre 0.025m
This calculation is useful only to get a rough idea. To find exact values of dimensions and steel area you must need to for more complex calculations considering loads and moment. By the way thanks for this rough calculation.
Is this from column to column or what? Perhaps the length is 12 m but with many columns
Isn't the max spacing for stirrups should not exceed the shortest dimension? Which should not be greater than 20cm.
i cant understand how to find no of stirrups
how did you find the 2 × cover
Why did you take cover as 25
Can you explain it again
Is d effective length or gross length?
Am happy with the teaching
what is the size of the steel bar and how many bars on the beam and column thanks
is it possible if i use this method to our country? as you mentioned it is on IS code ,
Two things
1) how 24 will convert in to kg and how to find dia of bars.
2) (5-2×.025)÷0.3 +1 = 17.5
Good bro
Thanks 🙏
Pls make video for Plinth beam 🙏

Sir, how to design the stirrups spacing.
I mean u chose 30 cm, but based on what?

Assalam Alaykum Sir, you didn't discuss on the arrangement of bars. I.e. why we have 2nos up and 3nos down.
Sir in 4 meter length beam what should actual size of bar and what mm size of bar used
HI, thanks for your videos. what if there is a column between the 2 ends of the beam.. does your tips still apply?

Hello, I requested to you please specified the code from where you can take these formula.

How to make cantilever beam in old house??
how much steel provide ? which dia bar used ?

Thanks sir, to day good lecture.
sir do you know the least dimension of the beam is 230 mm
When you were finding steel the answer was 24cm square what is the mean of 24cm square is it steel type or length of steel?
It is cross sectional area of all steel bars
@Alex 24 cm2 is the total area of steel required in a beam
