Bad boots break. Good boots break in. I would argue that good boots are less expensive and hurt your feet way less over the length of time you wear them.
Apparently im a masochist, i like breaking in boots. Makes me feel like i earned them.
Yes. I agree! You’re making them yours once and for all!
kinda like riding a bronco with no saddle. lol
I like that mentality lol
You can always wear the boots for everyday activities around the house just so the boots break in faster
This. Break your new boots in gradually and casually before you need to replace the old ones. You get no manliness prize for needlessly murdering your feet on 3-4 10+ hr shifts at work. Smarter- not harder
Mr robot looking sharp these days
Buddy is Canadian asf eh
My first good leather boots were $350 redwing iron rangers. I loved them so much I would wear them to walk around the block, anywhere I was going even work. They broke in so amazingly well. I took a picture of the inside of my boot with flash after 6 months and you could see a perfect darkened foot imprint, if you reach ur hand in there you can feel around the toes and it’s perfectly molded to ur foot once u break it in. That’s why leather boots are so uncomfortable for the first month because it’s a flat surface that has yet to be molded specifically for you :)
Tell em' Billy Ray! I'm about to do a 15 mile ruck next Saturday and hopefully that will do the trick!
I'm still buying 80 dollar Walmart boots not even 150 dollar
❤️ way this guy says "process" ....
My Nicks and Redwing 877 were both painful. But they eventually hugged me back😊
Ex-army here...100% right
In boot camp, we ran 5 miles to break in our boots Ow! But the midsole never started squeaking either…😮
Man that can be painful but its worth it. Well broken in Boots are something else!
Those black boots the navy issues are no fucking joke
Wise words from Billy Ray
hello to French Basque Country, this men are very kindly!! the best men in youtube who talk to forest! thank's Nicks!
Ballistol works wonders. Cures, seals, and protects the leather. I always spray some on my boots and wipe it around the entire boot. Let it soak and then wear them. Really loosens up the leather and helps the break in process. I use it on my western boots, my knives, my firearms, and my tools. Look it up, it’s great stuff. Good for wood tables too!
Ultimately you just have to wear them though so they form to your foot. These things HELP but they are not the end all be all. Gotta wear them for a few weeks of work and let them do their thing.
I've found that IF my footgear are all leather, I'm money ahead. Bick4 leather conditioner not only feeds the leather, it softens the leather, but it does not darken the leather. I slather a good amount of Bick4 conditioner into them (inside and out) and have found the wear-in process is much easier on my hooves. Softened leather molds to your hooves sooner than dry/stiff leather does.
If you're really having issues to the point that it might be a a slight sizing issue I'd consider a boot stretcher before giving up. I had to stretch an old pair of cowboy boots I inherited that bunched my toes up really tight and it fixed the problem completely after a few attempts
I buy them and keep my old boots. Use the new once after work for a week, then a day on day off for a week. Then wear them every day.
The real woodsman of RUclips
I like this guy's voice lol like the guy greta thunberg ratioed over a pizza box except actually a decent person
Like anything else in life. Pain will pass
Craziest thing is with a none broke in boot is driving its weird wearing shoes which I hate but I do sometimes then get in a new pair of boots and pushing down on the gas and brakes lol
just got my second pair of loggermax's, wore them out of the store and immediately went for a drive😅
He’s right 😊
When did Dane Cook become logger?
Swing and a miss.
Well said.
I'm on my first pair of real leather boots. About a month in so far the only part of me that has been sore are my shins and achilies area because I had never worn boots that went this high on my leg. The leather is softening though so it's going away.
😅 I one day will have a pair of Nick’s just will have to get the heels shifted outwards a bit.
Get a good, comfortable pair of boots that you can wear right out of the box and wear them until you break in your real boots.
Best of both worlds.
🙂
As a 30ty year ups guy , a good pair of boots will save your back and knees, break boots inn
Break them in how exactly? Just wear them? Or do something else like a new baseball mit and break it in manually... Im confused please explain
@caylee3277 wear them, most PNW boots have a leather sole that takes time to loosen up and mold to your foot.
Spoken like a real man! No wimp zone here.
Okay! I’ll suffer for a couple days than🤙
beauty is pain.
You sound Canadian....eyuy
He is
Pacific Northwest
Sure would be nice to have a pair of Nick's boots to break in...*hint*
100% yes
I might sound like some masochist but I actually enjoy braking boots in.
Lol😂 5 months later. The boots are absolutely amazing.
Damp socks not wet. It sounds strange but it will help immensely. It makes the boots form to your feet faster. One or two days of discomfort is better than a month or more.
It will pass.
Yes!!
The Andrew Tate of boots 😂
2 tricks... Thick wool socks and Vaseline
I will add moleskin when I urgently need a long hike.
Nice
just put on you’re boots and no mercy
I I I I I......
Thought times create tough men, easy times create soft men, who are afraid to break in thier boots😂 toughen up MEN
Lol I’m getting Andrew Tate vibes 😎
Buckin is chuck Norris compared to Tate...
Is this intended to be a compliment or an insult?
Use a broom stick to speed up the process.
Where do you stick the broomstick! 😲
@@stevenkelby2169 Use it like a crutch once you can't walk anymore from wearing brand new loggers all day.
@@thomashardy1851 😂 That's better than what I was thinking! 😂
wa men ?
😂
Maaan, you gotta understand that alot of us work for a living, and depend on our boots to provide comfort and protection, I don't need to be worrying about my boots or suffering from them, because the nature of the job is hostile by default, so I don't need my feet to be miserable for a period of time, especially with current technology advancements, there are sooo many boots out there that require close to no breaking in period! I understand old men saying that you have to suffer to break in your boots, same guys did it the hard way and had knee, hip and shoulder replacement surgeries, while the smart way is to take care of your body so it outlasts your career!
😅😅😅 clearly a man who hasn't had the pleasure of a real hand made pair of boots.
sounds like you wear timberlands bud
You don't think Buckin Billy doesn't understand the process of "working men and boots"? You kind of come across like you don't know much in life.
@@jimbo15151515 Only made in the US 8in Thorogoods, never had to break em in.
@@rockchalk9078 I don't care whos who, I am just sharing my perspective as a working man who wears working boots every single day.
It is the exact reason I wear Thorogoods and not Redwings (tried them and they felt miserable in my feet).
