When I play races with missile superiority like Dark and High Elves, I always turn guard mode on by default.
@jocaguz18 Orcs, vampire counts (for normal troops, not elites) and heavy melee armies in general.
@jocaguz18 Sure, great for ranged units and heroes, bad for dedicated melee damage dealers. Thats actually a downside for units that are amrvelous at melee but frail against projectiles. You want those units actually engaged with the enemy ASAP and you want them to remain moving continuously when outside combat. holding poasition is absolutely great for some units, and a death sentence for others.

The AI didn't pick out the terrible waste of talents he put into Tyrion so it makes no difference. The guys a fucking idiot and your defending him doesn't change that.

Legend! If you hold ALT while manually aiming abilites, spells, bombardments, and artillery, you can target terrain without locking onto the "center of mass" of units.
This is really fun to watch. Love those "underdog" streams. Gladly see it as a livestream!
Legend keeps saying Lothern Sea Guards suck but these guys keep saving Tor Koruali almost by themselves ! Damn you've got to give them some love

The only reason to get lothern sea guard would be because of the defense against large, but if your archers are getting charged by cav then you're doing something wrong.
i think the sisters of avalon are the best high elf unit too
they actually hold their own in mellee
iamplay They are definitely the most cost effective. The overall strongest would go to sun/moon dragons and at the top are star dragons which crush basically everything

i think combined arms with a mage, seaguard with shields, sisters, 2-3 eagleclaws, femalegenerals for aura and 2 dragons for siegebreath and quick cav respond or artillery hunter are one of the best highelve armies

You can nuke those bits and pieces ontop of high elf gates like that.
Please continue, the war isn't over yet and you can still get attacked by Cult of Pleasure in the north which could affect your income
lothern seaguards have practically the same damage as the sisters of avelorn. They lack the magical damage component so they don't do as well against armor, but against lightly armored units they do roughly equal damage. The 15 range extra is nice when exchanging with other archers, but the shields added make the seaguards better in that regard than the sisters. What makes the sisters OP is the fact that they can shoot through medium to heavily armored units better and if you stack them up in numbers (like legend does), they can nuke armored and shielded units just a bit better. Personally, i use the lotherns in numbers because of their cost, but that doesn't make them better, just cost effective. The thing with that is, the high elves economy is SO strong that the cost factor just doesnt matter. IF it did, the lothern guards were better imho, but since thats not the case, sisters still beat them as a quality unit.
If u make splash damage (multi shot, not single shot) with your ballistas it will destroy towers much more quickly.
I dunno how u tested it, it always works for me.
Doing a legendary campaign as Avelorn right now and pretty much letting Lothern do my dirty work while I build up my half of the island. Also, I use shielded sea guard to screen for my sisters until I can get phoenix guard. Being anti large and shielded makes them decent line holders.
You don't really need Phoenix Guard, get more sisters and shred their line before they even get to yours
Is there a tech that makes those sisters only take 1 turn? Just wondering since my imrik campaign takes 2.

I may be wrong but don't sisters of avelorn have better melee stats than lothern sea guard? The only things lothern sea guard do better is anti-large, shields and numbers

Yea at this point you need to have lothern but what I'm saying in a normal lothern campaign you go north and not just north of ulthuan you go to naggarond asap.
I always Moded Tyrion and grab full nutsuck passive it's fun shit albeit only after beating all darkelves to role play that tyrion went insane from beating the druchi and chaos, and now he can't tell friend from for so he attacks bretonia.

guys when i buy the alarielle dlc for warhammer 2, can i use sisters of avelorn in my teclis campaign (without restarting the campaign)?

Probably not.
I bought it and gained access to them during the middle of a Nagarythe campaign.
Of course sisters of avelorn are the superior archers. Lothern sea guard are not about fire power they are about protecting flanks. They pressure any unit coming from the flanck using guard and fire at will mode. They always face the flanking unit, and have defense vs large. They are great in their own way. of course not in the way the player use them here.
after the nerf with the release of tw2 i think lightwizzards are not longer that valueable for rangearmies

Hey Legend, I have something of a question. Or, something I wonder. I figure you might know this.
Do AI factions make use of their faction specific economy/mechanics? I mean; does AI Bretonnia gain/benefit from chivalry? Do Wood Elves gather/require Amber? Do Dwarves *reallY* hold grudges?
I'd bet no is the answer, the number of times I just saw louen and the other bretonnian fellows doing things that reduce chivalry like raiding and retreating from battle is downright astonishing.
And dwarves would be in deep shit since most of their AI's can't seem to really be able to keep track of things that would be in the book of grudges and would be at the worst level of satisfaction almost always.
But I'd really love to read what legend has to say about it
@@imperialbr1 Well. Yes ánd no, is my best guess. I confederated a Fay Enchantress with traits for unchilvalrous deeds, for instance. Apparently, she hangs around in brothels. But all the same, I see Bretonnian armies with far more peasants than they shoube able to field. I doubt the Dwarves suffer public order for not defeating every army that enters their territory (partly because they'll do just that). But, perhaps the Dawi remember diplomatic transgressions longer than others, or somesuch. I simply do not know. Still, the DElfs give the HElfs a run for their money 9 times out of 11, with half the territory. so I start thinking. Slaves, then?
Bart Something Absolutely not. The Ai just cheat lol. I’ve seen the necrarch brotherhood and Settra be military allies and even though if you play as Settra you hate them and lore wise they hate each other. Just one tiny example of AI being cheaters lol

J F I once had my quest bug out so that it wouldn’t count any of the shrines of Austrian I built. I built like 12 when it asked for 2. Finally triggered properly after archaeon invaded for some reason.

It's trade. You can have 100k out of trade and only 40k out of taxes by now if you had long term dwarf and helf trade partners. 55k out of trade is possible in 45 turns if you force age of discovery early on by being to good. Most people's mistakes is not supporting only 1 high elf minor faction to control most of gates and minor settlements. Trade income is 100% based on settlement quantitu not quality that even gates count for settlement quantity. In short take all major and resource settlements and let your ally take vanilla settlement.
Thanks for doing these. I personally enjoy these much more than online battles, me being new to the franchise and game trying to learn how to properly play. Maybe if possible, describe why you keep changing heroes and Lords. I know because of perks but I would like to know in detail what you are looking to accomplish. Thanks!

What's so good about lothern?
the harbour! 2k income at max, + the tax mechanic bonus of the highelves which gives % for good public order + i think 40% bonus for the mainbuilding on max = the mainbuilding + the harbour alone can effort an army
ich must correct myself its only 1k income and the mainbuilding is + 50%
and 10% for tradealbe ressources factionwide

its the city with the best income and easy access to lothern seaguard one of the best lineinfantry for highelves aslong as they are not in melee
Yea you could see how many factions are really weak with the bar going even with single stack of helves. It's why helf campaign is ez just beat the darkelves then you win because there's no other factions gets stronger than darkelves and chaos. The rest kinda loves you unless you piss em off.
once more the siege highlights what a insane decision it was to substitute lothern seaguards with white lions in the higher tiers of highelven defense buildings. the seaguards where hell of a lot more effective then the stupid axeswinging woodcutters of the north. WLoC are allright in tabletop, if not a bit too expensive, but in twh2 thier are the worst unit you can put yopur money into as HE, sure they have ap, sure you unlock them a tier earlier then any other non-artillery ap choice for your factiopn, but with thier abysmal statline and high costs, they simply are not worth it to take, especially since you can get LSGs instead, and those don't need an extra building, since you get them from your basic barracks. And the GEs are not worth the investment of the same extra building too
PS: some words on the sunfang battle. I tend to ignore the initial army at first as it does not move until you dealt with the reinforcements after that that army comes for you and his more easier to deal with as when you go for them at the beginning of the battle
