Rest easy Akira... You were a gem in this world. You touched so many of our lives and you will be deeply and utterly missed... Thank you for sharing your genius with us. Thank you for all the memories. Thank you for being you
FYI, the original composer is Yasunori Matsuda. He made this helped by Nobuo Uematsu. I think we need to give him credit because he is not really well known even he made amazing musics. Akira Toriyama is more to Character Arts Design.
This game and FF6 were the first games I played on SNES and the first time I ever saw the name "Akira Toryiama." Was a helluva way to get introduced to JRPGs and Toriyama's awesomeness. Still play both once a year. Chrono Trigger is such a wonderful game :)
My first experience with Chrono Trigger is with the Nintendo DS at 9 years old. I finished it at 12 with tears on my face, and it still holds up to be the greatest video game I've ever played.
I remember I played all my games, too many times... I needed something new... something epic. Lil bro had a FF4/Chrono Trigger double disc for PS1, so I gave CT a shot. At first, meandering the millineal fair, I was like, "hmmm... ok." But then I bumped into the Princess, and ran around eating the food and being "bad," having no clue it would play into the story later. The music was cool, and perked my ears immediately, but then I went back in time and heard Wind Song. I was hooked, hooked, and hooked again! A classic!!!
Bro I too just started the game two days ago and this song destroyed me. I legit started crying. I don’t know why, this touched my soul in such a melancholic way.
grow a pair of balls, what the actual fuck this is a great game and will be remembered as an all-time classic for generations. I played it for the first time when I was 6 years old, but to "legit start crying" is the most pathetic shit I'v ever read. i finally found this at a used game store for cheap and working order. only problem. I DONT HAVE A SUPER NINTENDO!!! yet:) i liked watching my father play this for ps1 as a kid
@@wolfgamer8770 if you know, how much changed between the snes and ds version? i've heard the music is worse due to compression and some of the translation weirdness is gone (good or bad depending on how you feel), so i'd probably play the snes version, but does the ds port add some good content?
@@rm_steele the sound compression is barely noticeable and in my opinion, isn't a huge turn off. There's is some dialogue and item name corrections. Examples include Frog's old English being a little less pronounced and tonics have been changed to potions. It adds the battle of the ages which is essentially pokemon but with chrono trigger enemies. It adds a couple side quests and a couple dungeons, one of the dungeons being part of the new game plus and unlocks a new ending. I've found it good.
@@thefreeamericanpress9472 Back then they were so creative when making soundtrack even with just 16 bit sound, rpg's are full of gems that a lot of people will never hear. I'm so glad I'm from that era.
this and corridors of time is calling to me as a reason to play chrono trigger, there's probably so many more great tracks to be heard in context this time
Not sure if you've seen it, but the cover art is based on a prerelease screenshot of an earlier version of Chrono Trigger, which depicts this exact scene - Marle throwing fire at Crono's sword as he attacks a Heckran look-a-like in a snowy area! (said snowy area is similar to Denadoro Mountains in the screenshot)
Chrono Trigger may be an old game, but it's fans are timeless and don't know the meaning of the phrase lost in time, because like the game itself, they have become embraced by it and a part of it, as they will never vanish in its sands, but a permanent memory of a legacy that has become immortal. Just like their memories.
I wish I could play this game for the first time again, I always play it almost every 5 years and it's still amazing. Give us a remake, an anime, whatever, this is one of the best games ever made, great gameplay, great music, great story and great art.

😂
Tournament of Power? Here? What ARE you talking about? It’s the 90s, and the Namek Saga begins.
Rest in peace Akira Toriyama, your art and work helped change countless lives.
Playing chrono trigger in the middle of the news feels weird
@@Exoskel2- Nah, just another little celebration of his life and work.

Being 12 and hearing this for the first time left an imprint on my soul
I can definitely relate to that
If you listen to early summer rain in Naruto it’s the same song almost lol
i got into the game today hearing the news as i was always unsure of getting into another game; feeling this hard at 21 haha
Left an imprint on everyone, pal, everyone..

Mitsuda also did phenomenal work on Chrono Cross and Xenogears.
We all know why we're here. To pay respect to our beloved hero. RIP.

maplestory bgm def took inspiration from chrono trigger among others! so amazing❤
I just came across this from the weirdest circumstance and I've never played the game but this is an AMAZING song.
was it Vinny playing it on the trombone?
This might be the best rpg ever. At least in my book.
This is just one of MANY, I promise you!
PLAY. IT.

I argue with myself over which one of the two is better. Stickerbrush works its way in there sometimes.
based on this cover art, was Marle supposed to be the Fire user originally?

Here's one out to you,Akira Toriyama. The Chrono and Dragon Quest Series is not the same without you.
One of my favorite themes from this game.
I had to import a copy of this wonderful game from US a long ago. Such a pitty we didn't enjoy this here en Europe.
I love this game. 😊 🙏 👍
why is this soundtrack nostalgic to me? I never played Chrono Trigger. :v
Just got this game today, am loving it so far!

Uhhhh very memorable, the map😂 where i spent most of my time, that and getting blown off that snow mountain to get crono back

The Promise (from Final Fantasy XIII) sounds very similar to this track.
