I just watched this clip after watching several other clips on the Needlers (nee Harrisons), thinking this was yet another of the recurring skits.
It was the wigs that made them respect each other
I think the writers started with Horacio saying “Carol!” and worked backwards from there.
And if so, wasn't really a funny enough starting point.

I think the sketch would've been _slightly_ improved if they didn't introduce "her" before the name train.
Like what they did in "Google Talk".
They turned Carol into her own sketch

Yeah! That was a great added touch! This skit was brilliant in it's simplicity.
Everyone's thirsting over Colin Farrell but I'm looking at how Seth hugs his pretend-wife like she's the most precious thing in the world (whether it's Amy or Maya from the game night sketch)

It’s kind of rare that a sketch can highlight every performer the way this one does. Even Maya and Fred do so much with so little.
And Horatio does so little with so much.
