Glad you are seeing some better pricing in your area. Maybe it will trickle south. Rumor has it new orders starting next week are set to increase in price on a major brand that has most of the market share. If true it will be a domino affect. Our only hope is that inventory stacks up at retail level to cause sales like you just witnessed at Scheels. Ammo prices have increased slowly again in my area. We are just now at a spot in my area (southeast) where big box stores and local gun stores are the same price on 9mm. Which is about 18-20 bucks for 50 brass case. 223/5.56 is stacked up everywhere currently and you would think that they couldn’t raise prices on it because it is setting at its current price. With that said I have a feeling there will be plenty government contracts with current events to keep the main players, and the ones that set prices(Vista and Olin) , busy for 2022 on common NATO calibers. I hope prices do come down. I have been very optimistic that they would. My attitude about it is changing though when the I see the reality how everything else has increased. Our only hope for ammo prices to drop is the only thing that has made it drop in the past, which is demand falls below supply output and it starts to stack up. Which you experienced at Scheels. It is possible. Lots of independent companies have entered the scene. Most small independent companies where drove out in 2017-2019 because ammo prices dropped to historic lows . These independent companies should be able to stay afloat for awhile being prices are so inflated now. Their is plenty room and time for margin. I’ll be glad when the new primer company gets rolling as well. We need help on the reloading side in a major way. Would love to see more powder imported. Here is to hoping! 🤞

Even if you had components, you're dumb to load and practice a lot because chances are, you'll die of old age before you can replace them. I've taken up an instrument.
What planet are you shopping on.
still pretty slim down here in Georgia. .308, .223, 5.56 and 9mm are in supply, but not much else
man, coastal North Carolina, still only slightly better on stock and just as bad on prices..... I'm waiting for the good news to get here :)
I bought 8 boxes of Remington UMC 9mm at wal mart in 2018 about 4 different times at $7.99
So, yeah prices are going to stay up, never going that low again, the dollar is loosing it's value as it does every year.
Can find everything but 380 and 410 here in Southern Indiana
I just paid $51.99 for a box of 357 mag in Phoenix. Its not dropping here.
Thats some very good prices on ammo. This “batch” might be from what was back ordered from last year. It could be when this batch of ammo clears up will be replaced with the latest order with the “adjusted” higher prices to match inflation. I’d hit that!
You hit the nail on the head, that Tula and wolf made in Russia ammo is gone for good here in Mississippi, that’s backorders right there🙏🏻🇺🇸🤙🏻
Ammo will probably get scarce again due the war
Well looks like I am going to have to start spending the rent money on hoarding ammo again. Just kidding! Sort of. Lol
Where are the primers and powder ?
Guess you better buy it while you can its not that cheap here and is going up not going down
Good coverage, Guys.
Wake me up when it gets back to normal - I won't be holding my breath.
There’s no such thing as “normal.” Only what the market will bear, and what it won’t.
I live in the netherlands and its a mess......22lr sold our or 30% on the normal price 9mm .357mag sold out reloading components are not in stock powder is not in stock or UP UP in price....
Why in the hell is there STILL no primers or powder for handloaders??
9mm range ammo shouldn't cost over 10 dollars for a box of 50 and honestly even hollow point antipersonnel ammo shouldn't cost over 25 for 50 rounds or .50¢ each just my opinion.
I think those days are gone and inflation will keep us at $14+ a box.
Look for the 50 count boxes of CCI and Federal LE ammo. Sometimes you can find them and pay for 50 rnds for what others charge for the 25/20 ct boxes
@@Cautionary_Tale_Harris I hope you're not right but sadly realize you're probably right.
@@johne1653 Yeah I usually try to find 50 count boxes or buy in bulk when the price is reasonable I haven't bought a bulk shipment in over two years because of the stupid crazy prices.
@@notchagrandpa8875 I hope I'm wrong, too.
I've been looking for .45-70 the past week for a friend. Sportsman's Warehouse -- nada and prices for everything are jacked in Oregon. Supposedly Cabella's has it but no local stores. Smaller retail stores have none here. Seeing supplies improve in various common calibers but $16 box of 20 .223 Rem is an example of still high prices.
To bad y’all ain’t close to me I have a box of 45-70 I’ve been trying to get rid of for $50 😑
Get yourself a reloading press and some dies and you’ll be cranking out 45-70 all day for 1/3rd the cost of factory ammo.
Good I need a Ak v and 9mm
Definitely NOT dropping in AK
I don't see anything like that around here
I don't know about all ammo. Found some WWB .38 spl over the weekend for $33. Clerk said get it before the price goes up, AGAIN. Told him I pass.
Thats like saying gas prices are going down. Prices skyrocket then they go down a bit. Still high.
Ammo prices are going up to 40% tomorrow so the ceo of vista Outdoors, people finding deals are ammo that was ordered before Covid and that’s why we didn’t see much on the shelves. These newer orders are going up, and up many times throughout the year depending on what O’Biden does or doesn’t do. I can’t even order from my distributor because the guns to ammo ratio has hurt me as a at home FFL, they want me to buy 15 or more guns to get one case of high priced ammo and I just can’t afford that so I just do transfers now!🙏🏻🇺🇸🤙🏻
Meanwhile..... there's gonna be that one guy...."tHerE's n0 aMM0 n maH arEa!". Also I can tell some people don't understand inflation or just too stupid to consider inflation? Lol
Yea yesterday I paid 460.00 for 1000 9mm. Cheap my ass.
Back before walmart went woke stupid they were selling 9mm 100 rd box for $16.97. Price now for 50 rd is $16.99- double the cost. And that's about the cheapest I've seen for brass-cased ($.33 - $.34/rd). I would say buy it now because it probably will increase in price.
Actually WWB was $26.67/100 rds and ZQI was $12.97, I still have pictures of prices right before Walmart cleared out most ammo, now I was getting Aguila and Fiocchi for $8.99-$10.99 per 50 rds at Atwoods right before the plandemic🙏🏻🇺🇸🤙🏻I would post the pictures if someone tells me how to post a picture on RUclips???
@@22addict40 Wally was selling Federal 9mm for $16.97/100. I still have the receipts in my ammo stash. During their woke clearance Win white box was $9.00/100. I bought close to 2K rds at that price.
@@rencleavus5213 how do you put a still shot on here and I’ll prove it, and yes during the clearance of ammo I was getting 100rds of 9mm for $5 bucks, matter of fact I was getting all calibers for $5 except 22lr and it was dirt cheap 🙏🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸I have receipts to and pictures!
I still can’t find any ammo I need much less worry about prices dropping in my area.
Hoping prices continue to drop however the word on the street is vista outdoors price hikes are coming April 1st.
Any target shotgun loads anyone? The prices are still high

No prices like that here in NC.....they have come down a little but that 223/556 here is still $13 to $15....not $10
exactly ,im in NC our local sports Academy got a load of Ammo friday and 30-06 winchester 20rds $27.99 bx .
@@taztaz728 exactly right......finding certain calibers has improved but still elevated prices....still a big issue finding 38, 357, 44 mag etc.
@@brenttuttle7268 yes I still can’t find those calibers either 🙏🏻🇺🇸🤙🏻
Saw four boxes of target 357 today at LGS....$38/box of 50....first time since Halloween I've seen 357 on the shelf
I just looked at an online auction site. 9mm FMJ 25 bucks a box in an auction. Some people are just trying to jack prices up.
I am waiting for primers to go back down below 6 cents apiece. I still have some 4.5 cent apiece primers for small rifle and shotshell. small pistol at that price long gone.
It did come down a bit and I bought some but it is still much higher than the pre pandemic price of 7.00 - 10.00 that’s far cry from 15.00 or more
Good news. Thank you
East Texas seeing increasing stocks but not decreasing prices.
GOA all the way!
Finally a bit of goods news on the Ammo front...thank you so much for keeping us up to date on the latest pricing structure.👍
I've been able to pick up 9mm at $0.32 round and .223/5.56 at $0.50. Also some .22LR at $0.06 per round.
Not great deals, but I decided at those prices I would start replacing some of what I shot up.
I haven't needed to buy in last two years, but will begin to accumulate more as prices improve.
Ammo prices aren't dropping
Will there ever be 410 shotshells in stores?
Check Walmart dude. I have found many boxes of 410 for my nephew's break over in the last couple of months in all types of loads. Some of the smaller gun shops here in Texas also have had for 410 defense rounds I usually don't support Walmart but I can't find something on chamber I'm going to get it wherever I can
Check LGS or gun and pawn shops. My shop here in NW AL has had 410 for months. Many brands and loads. Defensive and hunting. It must be regional or even by area of state bc most stores have it and virtually all other calibers from rifle shotgun or pistol. My shop has always been a good source for oddball or wildcat stuff too tho. Big box hit and miss on 410 and some others but don't discount hole in the walls or lgs's.
I want more. Luckily I have a decent amount but I use it for bird hunting here in Alaska and I love having a good stock of 410. I also like to have 12 gauge short shells for my ksg.
@@justinquamme916 I’ve seen it in Walmart to!
I'm also from Minnesota and the Rochester Scheels store easily has more ammo than any other place around.
They've been holding steady at about $ 19.00 to $24.00 a box for 9 mm here in Tucson Az . My go to place in Phx has been and will continue to be True shot gun club at $16.99 for Blazer n Federal with the steel cased ammo about a dollar cheaper . Keep up the Great work we missed you there for a bit glad to see you in my notifications
Wow, Can't Find any ammo in my area.
Sounds like sponsor's propaganda to me. The prices are still sky high, and some ammo still unavailable. I'll believe it when I pay for it.
I’ve been waiting for ammo to drop for so long. I keep on shooting but it’s hurting my soul at this point. I have to strategically shoot different calibers so I can orient my spending.
I've gotten back into bb and pellet guns, just to keep shooting regularly. You can get a Red Ryder and 6000 bbs for around $40 at Walmart still.
.22 pellets were a little difficult to find for a while, but .177 pellets and bbs have remained plentiful.
@@lughlamhfada2523 I’ve been shooting multiple pellet rifles as well. My silent whisper 2 and some crazy expensive 22 cal pellet rifle my friend has. It might be the most accurate thing I’ve ever shot.
Nice! I hope that trend spreads up here to Canada! Thanks, David!
Just curious did Canadian residents experience the same type of ammo shortage Americans experienced the past two years or so, even after many stores doubled their prices.
@@notchagrandpa8875 We did experience shortages, but probably not to the same extent as our Southern Neighbours. All the common calibres skyrocketed in price when they were available, and even the oddball ammo that we could occasionally find just disappeared. (38-55, 38-40, 44-40, 25-35, et al.) I had a hard time finding 45 Colt for my single actions! 22 was always available, but at twice the normal price. We're all in this together, Brother!!
Best wishes to you and yours!
@@kbjerke I know our so called President banned Russian ammunition even before Russia invaded Ukraine, which has been our cheapest form of ammo because of it's steel case, but I think Russian imports accounted for 1/3 of all ammunition sold in the US, if Russian ammo is still available in Canada it may not be a bad idea to go ahead and buy some of the higher quality brands like Wolf gold or other higher quality Russian made ammo before it's banned in Canada, I'm not positive your PM will ban Russian imports but with the Russian invasion into Ukraine and the sanctions the US and other western Nations have implemented it sure wouldn't surprise me for ammunition to be amongst the sanctioned items.
@@notchagrandpa8875 Good advice, Grandpa... and I might add that up here in Kanadastan we are still importing some Chinese products that you presently cannot. Like Norinco firearms and ammunition. I recently stocked up on 7.62x39 and 7,62x54R. The "good times" up here may be coming to an abrupt end. Stay well!
@@kbjerke I sure hope the good times ain't over yet but sadly it seems all good things must come to an end, since you can still buy Chinese firearms I assume you can probably buy Chinese ammunition which could be a better alternative to Russian made ammo, personally I select ammunition based on performance nearly as much as price, I'm willing to pay a little bit more for quality projectiles and brass casings if the ammunition has low FTF ratios which was the reason I mentioned Wolf gold by name, for a cheap ammunition it groups well and I've never had a FTF while using it, I have known of regular steel cased Wolf to fail occasionally but stay safe friend.
👍
Anything on revolver ammo?I'm a huge revolver guy and switched to 9mm firearms so I could continue to practice but I would love to bring my magnums back out.
Well that was short n sweet, thx!!
thank you for watching
Dave, any limits on ammo? I can see a limit of 2 - 4 boxes per purchase. Time to slowly restock again.
Central Illinois, my store has 9mm for 18.99 a box without a limit.
Up north toward Chicago it's like $25 per box with a limit. 🤷♂️
Damn just recieved 900 556 rounds 62 grain non green tip for $500...
Going into reload can't go retail anymore
i stocked up when they were $300 for 1000rounds
That shelf of Creedmoor was like seeing a unicorn! Don't see that in Madison, WI area! Seen some Hornady match for over 40 a box.
Guessing that if the war in Ukraine continues, ammo will jump in price again and/or become in short supply.
Great thank you for your service I've been following you for a while RUclips but what I'm seeing the 45 Long Colt it's coming back slowly but still expensive
🙂
Chukes outdoor adventure just did a video about ammo starting to go up in April because primers are still hard to find and getting harder?
Prices are really improving in CO. I found Black Hills 300 Win Mag for $35 a box.
Not in kenya
