Roger Waters has a knack of turning any script into a song. He to me is one of the most unorthodox (rhyme-less / open verse) lyrics writers and the best.
Thirty years on, it’s the same old tune We’re no closer to peace than the man in the moon. The president is still just as crazy as a loon, Still up for the fight in some foreign saloon. Bombs still falling out of the sky, The band still play Miss American Pie, The gunner’s still lyin‘ in some foreign field, And the boys‘ still coming home on a shield. We play the game with the bravery of being out of range still fucking insane with the bravery of being out of range Still channelling John Wayne with the bravery of being out of range Still feeling no pain with the bravery of being out of range still (flaming the stain?) with the bravery of being out of range Still playing the game with the bravery of being out of range
Amused To Death is an Album capable of stirring the masses into an explosion of awareness long overdue. Ingenious. Roger amazes us to death Everytime this guy writes a Song , it cuts deeper into my Soul and allows a whole other realm of feelings to emerge. Thank you for bringing all of what is good , right , happy, caring , selfless snd funny out of me , so that life is to more pleasant and facing this World more tolerable.
Wonderful to see this song make a return to the setlist after several years! And I LOVE the new verse at the end. Always, more stuff from Amused To Death is for the best!
Very good explanation of neoliberalism, Thatcherism and Reaganism by Roger Waters at the beginning and then the great song from his album Amused To Death (1992). Wow, he wrote this song for Ronald Reagan.

haha I love Roger and I actually agree with 99% of his politics, but I do wish he wouldn't talk quite so long sometimes. He talked for 3 minutes about the song! Syd Barrett would have mumbled something and then done a whole song in that space of time.
Spread the love spread the peace that is deep within and so easy to explore but they don't teach you only Charlatans from India they call themselves gurus but they're only in for the money and you won't touch devine bliss
first time I heard this one... reminded me of why I dont care for his music any more than his commentary, wouldnt drive to Cleveland to see him yet got passports to go see Gilmour in Canada... too bad he left Floyd, he wrote some good stuff back in the day... now a old fan can be a troll, maybe that firing of Rick Wright thing, spitting in the face of a fan, other quirks of a mediocre bass player still bothers some other folks too?
I love Roger's hypocrisy here. He talks about spreading empathy, love and understanding while he sued David Gilmour for continuing as Pink Floyd without him. If he wants to understand why there's so much hate and division in the world, he should take a good look in the mirror.
You obviously didn't see any of the shows on this tour. I saw 3 and they were absolutely fantastic. And I"m a musician myself, so if someone's not up to snuff, I'll now and call it what it is. But this band was every bit as good as any Waters has ever had (including that band he was in during the 1970's!).
@@zlh67 I did see the tour. I saw the Dublin show. Also saw the wall tour, in the flesh and pink Floyd at live 8. This band aren’t as good. Especially the drummer. Musician here too. Check my channel for Floyd knowledge.
@@kevycanavan I agree. The live version of this song from IN THE FLESH was muscular and dramatic .The Wall shows had a better band too.I saw THE WALL LIVE twice in concert in one week. It was top shelf stuff. Graham Broad is a solid drummer , I am not sure this drummer in this show is hewn from the same fabric.I did see The Us and Them tour show once.

The only thing you've typed here that makes any sense at all is your admission that you're a troll. On that we agree.
