- In case you're wondering why I've used the Lagiacrus SA...it's because I kinda thought that it had a power phial, which...was not the case...and I hadn't realized that until the quest was over. I probably could've gotten a better time if I had used Baraq Sedition instead.

Nice run dude. Err question, im trying to get that same charm you have, so far I have an Edmaster + 4, but with no slots so close. You got it through a guild quest? Right now im trying to upgrade my deviljho quild quest, but just wondering.

+CantaPerMe Thanks so much! Now to just upgrade that quest,,but i heard that a double seregios quest is better and easier for charms. My final goal for this game is to solo a lvl 140 Apex Jho with my Switch Axe. After that, ill wait for MHX to come to the west.
+陈儒湫 Now that seems like a real challange. I might, but first, im playing through everwood to get double monster quests. I do just fine in everwood, and so far, i havent got the quests yet, but i know how to, just gotta wait for the right monster to show up.
i like the way you manage to position yourself under the monster, dancing around those feet without taking hits.

it took me significantly longer and multiple uses of the gate but i did it! completing this quest is an amazing feeling.

So, Evade Extender isn't a necessity on a SA set? I can focus more on offensive skills then. Great run btw, Fatalis Force would've been a solid choice if it had better sharpness.
There's no necessary skills for the SA. Yes EE is nice but far from necessary

+Ruben Fortunato I don't think Canta used EE because of how well they knew the monsters and how close quarters the fight was. For me, EE is one of the skills I always need on SA simply because of the raw increase in mobility it provides for regular fights.

I-frame dodge. Basically evade at the right time.
How about using stygian vanagloria? And what armor did u use in this video? Your fighting style is perfect

doesn't SA in sword mode have Natural esp/mindseye
damn...a speedrun with a SA. Just out of curiosity how many retries does it usually take for you to get the time you want in speed runs?

Hey canta what do you think about switch axe? I personally don't like it that much. Is a offensive weapon, but id way to offensive. No guard possibilities and slow mobility in sword mode. is like it was made simply for attacking forgetting about dodge :/
+nessilver it's all about positioning yourself to correctly in order to avoid getting in a situation where you have to dodge/guard in the first place. Personally, I've really started to like SA since I've dedicated one of my streams to just using it. While it's not the weapon I'd choose if I want to get shit done, I still have a lot of fun with it and it looks so freaking stylish to switch between the modes in a combo.
nessilver Evasion+2 makes it super easy to dodge things like tremors and most monster roars. If you are really good at timing even evasion+1 is more than enough.

just wondering why the sergios SA would be best for this speedrun quest o.o?
(wouldn't bombing the monsters with crimson fatalis SA be better? or it doesn't because of low sharpness...?)

Fatalis SA has shitty raw iirc and the blast element as well as elemental phial become useless once the monsters become apex, while Seregios SA provides consistent damage with its high raw and power phial

What about the red Dara subspecies' SA?
That has way higher raw damage than Sergios's, or its power phial still outweights Dara's o.o?
Power phial is a massive damage boost, even more so when you're fighting against apex monsters, which don't take elemental/status damage, so I wouldn't even consider using a SA without power phial. (well, it still kinda worked out in this video, but seriously, you could get better results with a power phial)
wow, ok, never knew about this @@"(all i ever use are the elemental SAs in 4G since I tend to stay in axe more than the sword mode

how long it take you ti solo a raging brachy? i never find room for that quest and when i do everybody end up leaving the room cause the die :s
raging brachy is the only monster I'll use evasion 3 for, his explosions are bs since they explode almost a full second after the physical part of it
The fastest way I've found for immortal reactors is doing the achy brachy heart subquest. A GS set with focus, earplugs/rock steady, critical draw, quick sheath/sheath control. Attack honed seregios GS is enough. origami tim chang and akantorex have a video where you can get the subquest done in 30 seconds with minimal practise.
Of course immortal reactors are mostly useless in this game. Lightbreak weapons are inferior most of the time.
