      You just let the world and especially the Republican base see where you REALLY are. But you're young and probably naive to certain things. There's a saying "Don't let the good become the enemy of great." I'd enhance that further by saying "Don't let the great become the enemy of the perfect." You trashed President Trump in the most stupid comment I've ever seen from the fake Republican pro-establishment side I've ever seen.
      No other Republican dared to challenge things in the arena of Roe Vs Wade. Only Trump made a meaningful change. No other candidate will even try and nor should they.
      You called for centralized federal authority over the issue which is unconstitutional from the start. But worse, you're calling for a further concentration of power at the federal level -- a power which ALWAYS changes parties and one party finds ways to ratchet things into a far worse direction when they have it back. The striking down of RvW removed that federal stranglehold and removed justification for continued support for abortion clinics and preventing that power from being used again.
      More abortions have been prevented under Trump's changes than any other US president in history and that can only be undone if that power becomes a federal issue again.
      I could go on about how the notion of state level decisions and the differences among them are crucial to the continual development and preservation of US culture -- ESPECIALLY religious culture. You know what the left does with concentrated federal power and you know when they have it again, they will double down on the damage they cause. I am appalled that you do not understand this in the slightest.
      It will require a constitutional amendment to do what you seek and I'm for it. But before such a thing can happen, the contrast among the governments among the states need to be laid out for all to see just as we see it in criminal policy in blue states and clue cities. It's striking and disgusting for the nation to see but it's also clear. In time, the states will shift red and ONLY then can we hope to get a constitutional amendment to preserve the lives of the innocent unborn.
      I encourage you to take back what you have asserted about Trump and the enormous progress he made in the area of preserving life. Trump's plan is EXACTLY as I described above. The states need to stand on their own policy. If done at the federal level, the states can shift the blame for their policies there... where nothing gets done without fearless citizens like Trump doing the things every Republican promises but never does.
      The Conservative Treehouse has alerted the conservatives across the country to you and I know I'm not the only voice directing his attention on you.
      DO THE RIGHT THING.

    I'm a millenial Catholic as well, almost the same age as Trent, my wife is around the same age as Laura, she went on a Focus mission trip to Honduras with her back in her college days. Its funny because I acted similarly to the way Trent did, when I asked my wife to be my girlfriend, she said she just wanted to be friends. I gave her an ultimatum and told her I have enough friends already, either be my girlfriend or we stop talking. She said yes to being my girlfriend, and here we are about to be married for 8 years. I'm glad I gave my wife that ultimatum, she may have friend zoned me had I not.

      @kevinrhatigan5656 lol of course not, I just knew what I wanted, and I didn't want to be friends, I was ready for a serious relationship, and if she wasn't, I was going to move on. She was glad I did that, she has told me that women do want that, they want a man who knows what he wants and isn't afraid to go for it. I feel like that is what is lacking in today's dating scene. Men don't want to be men and pursue a woman they are interested in, men are so afraid to ask a woman out, they'd rather stay in the friend zone, then no one is happy.

      @@kevinrhatigan5656 I see what you mean, and trust me our relationship did and does flow naturally. Things were going so well that i knew she was the one, and she knew i was the one too just a few weeks into getting to know each other, she was just scared of how good things were going and both of us had just gotten out of long term relationships about a year before we met. So in short she kind of needed that push to take the leap into another relationship, we are both very happy that we did take the leap, our 8 year wedding anniversary will be in August and God has blessed us abundantly. Gods love for us is clearly seen through the unconditional love that we have for one another in the sacrament of holy matrimony. Its a beautiful thing.

      Pro-life and pro-stupid. I'm pro-life but I'm not willing to grant the Federal government centralized power to rule on the thing. Even if it did assume centralized power, it would be in violation of the US Constitution. Therefore the only way to address the issue is the same way the issue of slavery was address -- a constitutional amendment. Recall that slavery was allowed under the constitution and even though the emancipation proclamation was enacted, it was also unconstitutional and also only affected slavery in the south.
      "Good intentions" sure... but that's what paves the road to hell.

    • @catholickirby
      @catholickirby Год назад +4

      @@erroneus00 Are you willing to grant the federal government centralized power to call murder illegal? It's the same principle, my friend.

    • @erroneus00
      @erroneus00 Год назад

      @@catholickirby I'm going to ask you to ask yourself that question while pretending you didn't ask it. It's a damned silly question. Under Federal law and under every state's law, if someone kills a pregnant woman, the person is charged with TWO COUNTS of whatever form of homicide they determine. Murder is already illegal under every jurisdiction. All that has to happen is for SCOTUS to rule that it is murder to abort a baby. A new law is not needed. But as it stands, murder by state or by war and by many other circumstances are effectively legal. We do not live in a reality devoid of granular details and moral exceptions. Ultimately, a federal bad on abortion will ALWAYS fail in one of two ways: (1) legislative vote or (2) Democrat control would REVERSE IT and make it worse.
      You have to look beyond the immediate and look to future results and outcomes.
      For example, look at our surveillance state as we have it today. The NSA's data collection program is working 24/7, without probable cause (unconstitutional!) collecting the data of every US American in this country. Even though this program was initiated long before 9/11, it was 9/11 which was used to justify its use under the new federal intelligence restructuring under the patriot act. At the time, we (the people) thought it was a good idea because "9/11." But today, we see it is grossly abused in horrifying ways where the IG over intelligence reported illegal warrantless access to the NSA databases without redactions by tens of thousands of "authorized" people every single year.
      My point in that is to show how power, especially when centralized, is 100% guaranteed to be abused. This is why the constitution was written to limit power from the start. Power ALWAYS finds its way into "the wrong hands." And even in "the right hands" the character of those hands often shifts.
      If Jesus himself were in charge of our government, that would be the only imaginable "right hands" for massive centralized power. All other people are completely corruptible.

    • @catholickirby
      @catholickirby Год назад

      @@erroneus00 Those are fair points. But a federal law against abortion is a negative law: i.e. "you can't do X". It isn't a positive law like "you may collect this information" or anything like that. And since a federal law against abortion would be a negative law in the same vein as negative laws (against murder) that already exist, I'm not so sure it would have the same potential for abuse. But I agree with you that SCOTUS or the culture at large recognizing that abortion is already murder and thus illegal, but be sufficient as well.

    Awesome couple! On the break up part. Trent you might’ve also been influenced with societies idea of what a relationship is supposed to be and that therefor long distance can’t work. My husband and I were long distance in different countries. We talked every day. I was finishing my masters degree as he was going for his engineering degree for 2 1/2 years. He traveled about 3 times during that time. And I did not at all feel our life was different when we got married. I knew him through and through. Especially since we do not fornicate or cohabitate. If anything I believe long distance has also protected us not to fall into sin and focus on really getting to know each other and figuring out if we were compatible mentally and spiritually.

    🚨🚨🚨I disagree about therapists.. I have had quite a few therapists in my youth, each of which lead me down extremely dangerous paths. For example, my wanting to save myself for marriage, and dislike of pornography was blamed on the childhood sexual abuse I suffered, and Catholicism. As a teen, therapists ordered me to pleasure myself, and one tried to pay someone to have a sexual experience with me. I can go on and on. And this was not in one little pocket of town. This was across different states, and different times in my life. I give an enormous HELL NO to “therapy” , and a warning to parents. I wish I could go on and on about the demonic advice and treatment I got. NO WAY. And I hope a parents reads this who is considering getting their children therapy.
