Lol...I love watching Laura 's videos/channel. She's sorta like a drink "chaser" that is needed after listening to all the heavy info one consumes from Trent's podcast. Lol.
Laura is beautiful and so funny! 😂 Her laugh is infectious! She is the perfect wife for Trent! God bless you all! Oh, and please bring the boys on occasionally as they are so cute!!! ❣️🙏✝️
Not a Catholic but a catholic ;) But at my church when my girls were little there was one older woman that told me after a long, hard service (my husband's a pastor so I was all alone) she said it's great to hear little ones during the service. That means the church is growing!! It was so encouraging.
The frozen burritos made me laugh. My husband and I got married when we literally were living off frozen burritos 😅🌯. In a couple weeks we celebrate 14y married. ❤️❤️❤️ I thought I'd never have a girl and then we did. ❤️ Pregnancy is dangerous for me so we have to plan each pregnancy carefully. We decided to carefully and joyfully go for one more and that was my girl. ❤️❤️❤️ I watch RUclips, intentionally, basically all day (I listen to it like podcasts, with headphones while I'm doing my housework). I have learned so much. Apologetics, history, I've taught myself to sew, learned how to fix things in the house, etc. We will encourage our children to take up trades. No debt, honest work. My husband is an electrician. :)
I give my kids a gummy for each section of the Mass where they were attentive. I tell them that they represent treasures in heaven. It’s not full proof, but it helps. I completely agree with increasing exposure too. There is a clear difference between children who attend daily Mass and those who don’t.
I have to say I was listening to the podcast and came all the way over here to RUclips just to comment that I was having a bad day and listening to you and your wife I had a smile on my face my whole drive home. You guys are a riot!
She's amazing. She definitely needs her own podcast. Her voice, timing, laugh and beautiful demeanor are bringing joy to the hardest part of my day as a mom of 7 (dinner prep. Blergh!)
So true about having age appropriate expectations! I use to cringe when my babies yelled or cried but it was typical at that age. Keep taking them and they will learn. Cute video you guys should do more
Here's where I will slightly pushback with Trent. I prefer going to college because there is some social aspect to it being on RUclips for several hours removes any social aspect and leads to people being on there phones more. It also helps because you have teachers and tutors willing to go back in forth with you and that promotes active engagement unlike online learning.
I am going to go against you on this because there is back and forth on the internet as seen in my post here. Also I play Mario Kart on the weekends! It is one of those things that the nutty reset did get people to evaluate doing things.
You just made me feel so much better about watching RUclips. Thanks ☺️ When my kid is really badly behaved, I make him go to Mass more too. It really does help!
"Women don't have the tendencies to knock heads"... Trent, may I introduce you to my New Jersey Italian wife? ALSO, I LOVE YOU TO PIECES, WIFE, SO, IN CASE YOUR FAMILY SEES THIS, I DO NOT NEED TO TAKE A SWIM WITH A NICE NEW PAIR OF CONCRETE BOOTS.
this should have topped the length of Pints with Aquinas long form discussions. I NEED SIX HOURS OF JOKES AND PRACTICAL ADVICE!!!j Take rambunctious kids to mass more? NEVER WOULD HAVE THOUGHT but it makes so much sense! Also still not full after goldfish? It's because they weren't flavor-blasted, Jesus! This is what I needed today! I love you both!
I AM reminded of a New York City- born Conservative Jew who became a devout Catholic, an apologist at Catholic Answers ,and, I believe, became a Nun, with a Brother ,David, who runs a group for Hebrew Catholics. Her Name is Rosalind Moss, but Laura Horn Rocks!!🇺🇸🇻🇦✝️☦️🛐🙏⛪📖🕊️♥️😇👼👫
Another tip for taking children to Mass is actually to sit near the front. When they can see what's going on, they often (not always) are better behaved ;)
I was going to say the same! My parents did that with us when I was growing up and we did it with ours. I find it funny when I follow my teenagers to the very front row--they go there automatically!
I just love it when you to get together on this podcast or RUclips videos or whatever. You guys should do more of these. I love your wife's laughter and the fact that she brings up your laughter cuz you rarely laugh. Anyway thanks guys for all your videos
Laura is a good and beautiful wife. Trent deserves this blessing. I hope Trent will bring the kids in the show again. They are so cute and it's inspiring to see this good Catholic family who loves Our Lord.
I learn so much from RUclips: theology, Roman supply chain, how to make high quality omelettes, biology, engineering concepts, etc… I agree, I learned very little from college in a way that was retained after undergrad. I learned almost everything I need for my job on the job. Been thinking through that with what it would look like for my kids. Not opposed to college for some careers but wonder if trade schools (shout to Mike Rowe) are a better investment for many.
I love Laura. She’s so funny and I can relate to her so much because I’m also an RN who is now a stay at home mom (for the past almost 3 years). It’s a hard transition and sometimes I still feel like I’m not used to it. I would love hear Laura speak on that at some point!!
I agree with your thoughts on college Trent. The social aspects many times include binge drinking, getting high & other nastiness. There are so many horror stories especially of people who join fraternities & sororities. If a person really needs a college education such as engineers or degrees in the medical fields, then go for it. I do think most people would benefit from being out in the real world first until they mature & are ready to study & get their degree. It sure would have helped me & I graduated in 1980! Kids now seem way less prepared for college life.
I think it depends on the individual. I went to a Catholic university, but even before that I never “partied”, instead had four part times while I went through college and my only ‘brethren’ group was the young adult group at my parish.
She is so cool. Can she be my mentor? Please do a "Life with Laura" coffee chat 1x/month. She could be the Dear Abby for 20/30 something Catholic women. Lol.
Yall are fun, good video! Update: I just watched all her videos. Perfect format; shared with my wife and she almost fell into the wall laughing saying yes at extreme volumes.
I second all the advice they have about bringing a kid to church. I would only add sit near the front. When my son can see what is going on, he behaves better.
She’s a joyful person. It’s very contagious. You both must be really happy because of JESUS’ Love 💕 for each and both of you. GOD bless you always, all of you in the family!
I feel the same way about college Trent! I went to culinary college and I learned absolutely nothing! I could have bought a good collection of cook books and been most of the way there.
I could not be an engineer without engineering school. I studied constantly and still struggled. Maybe some could but you’d have to be incredibly intelligent. 15 years later, I still go back to textbooks and class notes for my job.
Can i recommend WGU? As a prior military with an A.A. you pay like 3600 per six month semester and you can basically take a many classes as you can handle and they only require a final test or a certification exam to move forward. Self-paced. They provide the materials, and i finished my 4 year in 1.5. With zero zero credits, maybe 2 years?
I am a kind old lady. Sit in front of me at mass. The family that sits in front of me have eight kids. Our parish is known as family parish..You would have to move to Wheaton Illinois.
12:58 This is so true. Nearly all of what I have learned about Catholic theology, politics, and history has been from books and youtube videos. We learn the same surface level stuff in history class year after year in school but youtube has really taught me a lot in this category.
The boys can learn to code as teenagers, enough to work 80-90% of software development jobs. Learn web development, mobile app development, DevOps, and a little bit of machine learning. Most important academic skill is math. Good courses on all these topics can be found on Udemy for $10-20 each. Sending the boys to Texas A&M is not a bad option. St Mary’s Catholic Center is the largest catholic student center in the country and is excellent.
i can second Trent's point about don't go to college and just watch the right people on RUclips (or take the right online courses). I've gone through a decent philosophy and theology program (as decent as it can be in our culture). but i feel like it was an absolute waste of money, because I could have learned more in much less time if i could have just looked it up online/RUclips. Many good college professors have online courses available to the public, AND many people that are as good as (or better) than many college professors do as well. i see no reason to pursue "academia" any further, not only because it is so integrally flawed at this point, but just because they are raking people over the coals these days relative to what can now be done independently. laura's point about that book seems to be: "well it sucks but it's set up in such a way that we basically have to do it now." but that type of thinking usually just makes problems worse. as C.S. Lewis says, whoever turns from the wrong road soonest is really the most progressive.
Thank you for not pushing the agenda that women need to be involved in work for the sake of women being involved in work. As a kid, I absolutely hated going to school. I wish I could've stayed home and been educated and raised by my mother. The world is suffering from feminism and I will do everything in my power to make it stop.

Her laugh ! 😆

That’s excellent. She’s so bubbly and seems goofy compared to Trent
I’m so thankful to hear that getting kids to behave at Mass is a universal struggle.
It’s a problem in Protestant churches too. Pretty sure it’s a universal problem, actually. You’re not alone.
Huge and long-term fan of Trent, but have to say....loving his wife more! Such an infectious personality!
Can y'all just straight up start a podcast together? I'm cracking up at work and your chemistry is just amazing
