OLD SCHOOL TEXAS BUTTER 🧈 POUND CAKE 🍰 (FRIDAY NIGHT CAKE OF THE WEEK SEGMENT)

- This is another easy delicious moist cake with a nice buttery filling and glaze
Ingredients:
3 cups all purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup buttermilk
2 sticks of salted butter (room temperature)
4 eggs
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Baking soda
1 teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
preheat oven to 325 degrees
cream butter and sugar for 8-10 minutes to insure creamy texture
slowly add eggs one at a time
add vanilla
alternate flour and milk
starting with flour and ending with flour
pour in greased bunt pan and cook 60 minutes on 325 degrees
Glaze:
3/4 cup sugar
1 stick of butter
1 1/2 tablespoons vanilla
1 tablespoon rum extract (optional)
1/4 cups water
heat all ingredients together in small pot ,bring to a simmer for 3 minutes and pour over warm cake while its still in the pan,save a little glaze for the top after to flip cake out of pan
be sure to poke hole in the cake to insure that the yummy glaze will go throughout the whole cake

So, I was true to my word and made this today. Make this as soon as you can. It is delicious! I make Bundt cakes all the time, but this one is by far the best one I've ever made. It's so moist, and that glaze brings it over the top! This is my go-to from now on! Thank you so much!

My brother-in-law gave me the recipe after I begged him to share it, but I misplaced it after I first tried to make it using a 2-piece bundt pan, and it didn't come out quite right. Now that I have the right pan, I'm going to make this TODAY! I've got my eggs and butter out now.😄

I made this recipe today and added rum extract and it was absolutely amazing. I’ve always failed at pound cakes, they always came out dry. This is the second cake I’ve made from watching your videos, the other one was the pineapple pound cake which was great too. Thank you for sharing your talent.

Alabama roots checking in! My Aunt Priss always had a cake in her kitchen. Sour cream pound cake and coconut were her favorites. Pies, too - fruit of course, but chess pie, black bottom pie, haven't seen them in years. You bring back so many memories. This weekend I am teaching my niece to cut and fry corn like her grandmom who has passed now.
One thing I never learned and would love to see, silly though it may seem - really good butter beans - i just can't get it right - so tender and in a buttery thick pot likker. My mom loved pot likker pie! As she lost her appetite more, we could always get her to eat cornbread in buttermilk. I do know how to make a lot of southern favorites, but I love watching you make the foods I grew up with. Your way is close to my family's way. Some younger folk and other families' dishes are pretty different than my family, good I'm sure, but not like what I know. You cook like my mom and aunts. God bless your hands sir, and God bless you and your mom.

I’ve been making this cake since 2017. I found a recipe for Kentucky Butter Cake, same recipe as yours. That damn cake is so good. I have to make it for Thanksgiving and Christmas for my family every year. I even made one for my friends in Maryland, I live in Tampa.I shipped it to them. It’s a winner, y’all make it.🔥🔥🔥
The real original Kentucky Butter Cake has Kentucky bourbon in the butter sauce. He doesn't add it, so he calls it Texas butter cake

Saturday morning I made the triple layer "German chocolate cake " for a friends husband birthday. She phoned me right away to say thank you, and express how much her family enjoyed. I have since subscribed to your channel as of 01/15/2022. (Late entry) This morning I have made this delicious texas butter cake, minus the rum. I am enjoying now with a cup of black coffee. This is the second cake that I have made using your recipe within five days apart from each other. I'm hooked. Next, the pineapple pound cake. And yes I made sure to get the air bubbles out of the batter by hitting the filled bundt pan against the counter top. 😄😃🤗 Thank you sir.
