I own one of these cars, and it really is like you had a buddy break into the airport, and steal an engine off a 747 and install under your hood. There is nothing that compares, just about the only thing that can keep up with this car would be a Lamborghini ... all this in the most luxurious comfort and unparalleled safety you can imagine. Easy as thinking about it for a few moments, and you're going well over 100MPH and didn't step on the gas even half way down!! Car cost $135,000 when new. SO glad I bought mine. It's never taken out in the rain. I have a Mercedes SUV for that.
I am late to the party here (I was looking specifically for SL600) but that was an excellent review - subscribed! Keep up the good work. I’ll take a look at your back-catalogue too.
I just got a 2005 SL 600 with the (AMG body option). Words fail me. My last fast car was a 2006 CTS-V (I owned from new) into which I had installed a 6.7L C5-R motor built by Katech. The Benz puts it to shame in every sense save absolute grip (I was hitting 1.2g in the V), which can be remedied, though I probably won’t. .9g is plenty for me nowadays.

@@extremedrivr Not so. I've had a bunch of built Vettes. My tuned 600 is faster 60-160, and crazily QUIET. No corvette drone. How? 1) It hooks up very nicely with traction control. No feathering the gas pedal. 2) TORQUE. My remap is pushing 800 ft-lbs tq now, with 660 BHP. We're talking nearly 800 BHP on the remap at 2,000 rpm. 3) it's automatic. Very strong factory tranny, like a Rossler 400 street tranny.
@@ChrisDrivesCars Dang.... I finally bought an 05 CL600, and honestly, life ain't bad if that's the last car I splurge on. But I'd still like a taste of that 612.

Ich habe mir einen SL600 gekauft , und er hat einen Picher Umbau drauf , inkl klappenauspuff , und Leistungssteigerung .das Auto ist Mega
The 600 is a beast, and so effortless to drive the torque is insane!

Finally got my SL600 sleeper. Wow Just wow. When I fancy abit of rough I take my SL55 out 😂😇 the super charger sound is deadly 👌

Bull crap. The CTS-V can eat these for a full course meal. Get a life. LOL
Just a tune on this would eat a maxed out CTSV

I have a hard time believing that an 06’ V with the C5-R motor is taken by one of these. A factory 06’ V pulled equal 0-60 as these (~4.7).

Spectacular…I have a 1990 300sl that is nice too.
You will spend a fortune on maintenance for this model!
Nice to see you back Mr "Chicago Cars Direct", The Original!
I own a 600/ had Kleeman tune it, took the lag out, might put 500 mi on a year.
I had a Kleemann tune also. We're talking 660 REAL bhp.
Sorry but no comments on 16 switches?! I thought that was a winner 😂
Bro does awesome reviews. Check out the Ferrari 612 one.
Loved that 612. Got totalled less than a week after I sold it to the next owner...heartbreaking.

what year is this?
2005 I think
if it's a 2005 it should be a 7 speed
IN-SPEC Co. v12 came with 5 speeds until like 2014 i think then they finally update to 6.0 v12 with 7 speed
