After they wrote "Let It Go" and realized it would be a major hit, they also realized there was no way they could possibly make Elsa be the bad guy or even a sort of pseudo-antagonist because the song was too inspiring and catchy. While I don't mind having a scared and confused Elsa who does bad things by accident and has to keep running away and making things worse, having her be a straight up villain who just wants to be left alone would have been so good. Just make her be The Beast from Beauty and the Beast, but with ice powers.

When i first watched this movie i hoped that they had more story but they put too much fjord focus on songs
