Proof that you don't need high end tools to create a masterpiece.
Nice work!!
True, but his chisels look razor sharp.
@@mikelastname add 1 medium level sharpening set to your low-end toolbox? 😁
Do you think that chisel is made of carbon steel? Home Depot and
Lowe’s hardly carry anything but beveled chisels. Although I have a few small power tools, I prefer to learn hand made. I must learn how to sharpen my chisels and planes. Thankfully plenty of vids on RUclips.
@@dplj4428 As a millwright and an amateur metallurgist: I can guaran-fucking-tee you that it's made of carbon-steel.. Probably not a quenchable amount of carbon steel.. Buuut enough to be *called* steel 😁
Good luck on your tooling journey. May your knowledge get ever sharper.
I'm running out of things to say about your skill and ingenuity ... quite simply one of the masters.
The person in this video was not taught these skills, he mastered them.
The reason this is so strong is that if you were to try to pull the ends apart (angle >90) you would be stretching the middle piece which is damn near impossible. Bringing the ends together (angle
Pulling the ends apart it would break very easily as
At the top of the joint*
@@jonathanlaguna3418 It wouldn't. That's why it's cross-grain.
Really?
To me, it looks like you are left with only a third of the thickness of the wood on the outside, which would break more easily.
If you point the corner up and push down, both sides would break off.
@@ireallyreallyhategoogle yeah a stress on the 90 deg angle pulls on at least 6 stress risers that are against the grain. Fairly nice fit, congrats on the chisel work, but complete lack of strength, and complete waste of time.
Man... all these people have the straightest wood... Also, it'd be a cold day when i spend that much time making a joint lol. props to you, it's beautiful.
... not to mention a table would need 4!
The precision you have with that chisel is amazing
That is art. Simply beautiful.
This is brilliant - I'm not surprised we weren't taught this though. Class only lasted 1 hour!!
When a right hand and a left hand trust each other very much, a woodworking project is made.
You are a Master Craftsman, thank you for sharing your knowledge.
This joint will never separate.
Amazing chisel work! Unfortunately for me, no matter how many times I cut a board, it's still too short.
Try running time backwards, but make sure you have a big pile of sawdust on the floor first. Then cut.
That was so therapeutically pleasing to watch. What's so amazing about this? No machinery all done by a sharp eye and a phenomenally steady hand.
Very well done sir. You are a master.
Sophisticated Simplicity and Beautiful... outstanding sir!
this is not a pro level either a master level. this is god level.
damn sir! you are unique!
That was amazing to watch. Great craftsmanship without any power tools.
I wouldn't be so sure of that. A huge part of the preparation for joint making is getting prefectly accurate and identical stock. I have never seen this chap pick up a plane, and as this is filmed in a location with other woodworkers occasionally in the background, I would be amazed if the stock wasn't prepared using a planer thicknesser. Believe it or not, that's well over half the work involved in joint making.
You're awesomely skilled person.. thank you for such wonderful woodworking lessons 🙏
I don't even do wood working, but watching videos like this is so fascinating and makes me want to start
Beautiful work!
It is a pleasure watching you do your craft.
I like this kind of making wood. Least energy consumption compared to modern conventional methods.
Your amazing skill and creativity are incredible! Thank you for your sharing.
Thanks for the video. Was nice seeing the out-the-normal designs and the very nice work using the good old fashioned tools that shows how skilled a person must be
Amazing how you did that by hand. Extremely precise without using a router.
Your craftmanship is simply brilliant.
Got to be a pretty precise measure. In some cases, I see folks using pieces as reference to mark each other instead of scribing off a ruler. H Carpenter, great demo. Anonymous until he shares his joy over the final piece.
A truly inspirational craftsman!
Beautiful work... You sir are a master craftsman.🛠
I can just imagine what that would look like if I tried it!
La PERFECCIÓN en todos tus trabajos 👌. Un saludo
You're a man of few words but big on skills nice work, great idea!
Очень здорово!
Держать будет хорошо. 🙏😊😊👍
Very enjoyable video, thanks!

Very skillfully done!
You Sir, are a master !!! 😎👍
Brilliant. Have a wonderful day , greeting from the US .
wow. its simple, and its genius.
i am legitimately in awe. such an elegant solution!
Lol, this is so far away from simple it hurts...
This looks so cool! Great job!
Ei carpinteiro vc e simplesmente Fantástico que obra linda vc faz com madeira excelente Parabéns e sucesso fique com Deus.
Bravo: very skilfull. Congratulations.
Doesn't cutting out the sockets for the cross-piece weaken the wood? It's cut more than halfway through.
Professional
Excelente! 🇧🇷
You are amazing ! Congratulations
Keep on posting Dear Sir. Godbless you more.
Bravo!! 👍
I have to say your a master and much respect for the hand tool work absolutely stunning keep the videos coming I'm learning a lot
Great work.
Great video. Inspirational
It's great to see a left-handed artisan.
Thanks for the video. Was nice seeing the out-the-normal designs and the very nice work using the good old fashioned tools that shows how skilled I Follow You.
Bravo c’est super
Ça resemble a une montagne 🏔 😊
Great hand tool skills
Mighty good joinery.
Amazing video and skills❤
Thank the lord for power tools 🙏
The wood looks pretty green, judging from the way the sawdust clumps together...
Amazing!!!

Você é o melhor
MÁSTER it 's a beautiful and GREAR JOB.
I like it! Have you ever done any of the traditional joints for Japanese boats?
Это очень красивое соединение!
So precise and accurate, it's a skill i find it hard to achieve.
Your work is amazing and beautiful.
Thanks !♥♥♥
Neat.
It looks straighter and more beautiful than nails!
Luxo luxo
What I want to know is how he sharpens his chisels!
The mitered corner infill for increase weight strength, with the hidden dovetail, to counter balance the internal forces. One or the other is good enough, both combined is massive overkill, but there's no such thing.
Absolutely gorgeous. But we all know it is CGI. It is so good and the internet is constantly trolling that my jaw drops. So good it looks fake. How could I not be impressed?
The reason no one uses this joint at least as you've made it is because you have taken a fairly strong corner miter & made all the connecting parts about 1 cm thick. The spine on the corner brace & the remaining faces of the long angles are so thin they won't take much deflection before splitting.
A more simple & stronger way to do this is a kurf cut on the miter's outside corner & add a 5 - 10 mm spline 90* to the corner miter. This glued in spline joint has been tested to be the strongest corner joint in most uses.
Yeah, those are just for showing off, hoping for some youtube dollars. This joint is weak in multiple way: corner locking, beam and column weakness under load because too much material removed.
NOT TRUE
Good joain
3 way miter locking possible?
👍 👍 👍
👍👍👍👍
The smiling throws me off a little bit, but it's admittedly kind of endearing. The carpentry is next level, though. Great job!
Beto essa é pra você.
Amazing. And what surprises me most that they only use a hacksaw and chisels. No files or sanding paper!
Not that it changes how impressive his skill is, but that's not a hacksaw. It's a bow saw and it is made for wood where a hacksaw uses a very different blade made for metal and is much smaller.
One of the beauties of God is art.
