You wrote: "I don't want this knowledge to be lost, our children and grandchildren should know about them later." Don't forget the many thousands around the globe! They do appreciate your effort also!
You ever notice how easy it is to watch a true artist perform their art? This is one those artists. It’s a joy to see such complex joints made with such ease and by hand. I don’t believe a cnc mill could produce this level of quality given 5 times the amount of time it took for this man to do it by hand.
I became a master Craftsman because while watching little house on the prairie as a kid seen a Jewish guy tell Albert the boy a true Craftsman never uses nails, I think that Everytime I build
A simple wooden work bench, saw, mallet, hammer, giant C clamp, ball point pen, and a few chisels is all this master craftsman needs to make these beautiful and intricate joint puzzle locks.
Master Carpenter!
I cannot add to the other compliments written here. He is an example of old world carpentry. Did you notice the only electric operated device in his shop is a single light bulb.
Am learning a ton watching this guy. @5:10 is brilliant! Much respect!
I love all of it and my favorite parts are the chisel work. Just watching a master at work is great - no matter what he makes. Great thing about Japanese joinery is it’s beautiful and it works. It fits together for a purpose.
Are you pleased ?
What the master has done is really great and super
By using its knowledge the work get great value doing by its own hands big respect I love the woods when someone valuable it's
Master , … you make me speechless, honestly!
It's a pleasure to watch a true craftsman. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Lovely to watch someone doing something really quite difficult and make it look so easy, thanks.
Most people would only see a bit of joinery. But to people that work with wood this joint is beautiful. The craftsmanship is amazing. Thank you for the video. 👍👍
It is really pleasant to just to watch these things being crafted.
This guy is only doing the various types of Japanese joinery and he's good. Now imagine if he decides to make a full blown furniture of certain type.😆
Many of the joints he demonstrates are for timber framing buildings and make little sense for furniture
Another great joint in another great performance in showing us how to do it thank you for the entertainment and then knowledge keep up the good work
Superbe assemblage 👌👏
I would love to see how you sharpen your chisels, that would be a very instructive video.
Muito bom trabalho parabéns 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
with all my big power tools I don't know if I could do it as good. what a talent
Absolutely brilliant 👏 👌 👍 😀😀😀😀❤
Excellent workmanship. Modern tools needed.

Your skills are amazing! I love these carpentry videos. Thank you for sharing! It would also be interesting to see the practical context in which these joints are used.
wwowww thanks ♥
Incredible job! Excellent.
Absolutely First Class....!
wooden art ! greatful
Brilliant; thank you. 2:33
What can one say? Absolutely stunning woodcraft. And all he uses is a few chisels a wooden hammer and a square. Kind of makes me feel small in a way.
experience sir
I believe that's called being humbled in a pleasant fashion.
Excellent work and very satisfying to watch! if you link to a "how to" that explains the layout you could sell it for sure!
Someone let wind at 7.10 😂😂

Sensacional!!!!
Amazing work! Congratulations!
It is beautiful!
Wow just incredible
Another work of art
An you show a video of how you sharpen your chisels
Great work! 👍😎
I really want to try and do this joint now. I doubt I'll do it even half as good as this but I want so much to try.
You might wanna practice a few times before you put the video up
This is "pure art". I hope you are transmiting your skills to someone of the new generation. I would love to lear to master using these scisels and learn all these various dove tails and joints. Thank you gor sharing.
Thank you for your compliments
No, it was not originally "pure art". It was originally, and still is, used for practical construction. Yes, these modern showpieces are ARTFUL, but only because Japanese craftsmen were/are artisans, ie artists who made useful and beautiful stuff. Too many Westerners today just make self-indulgent, sponsored, wanky art to show off. Let's see them build a 7 story temple with their skills. Too much of YT is what I call "comfort viewing" -- vicarious entertainment. Reality is far more real than art and deserves much higher praise than a hobbyist with a very sharp chisel.
Then go to Japan; find a Master; study and practice for years; let your personality and spirit be transformed through the *process* ; more than just "wanting" the skill or the end product.
Que maravilloso trabajo!
Muito top 👊👊👊🇧🇷👍💯
Amazing
Bravo 👌.
Thank you 😀.
You'd love this neat little invention called a "T-square". Might help for that early marking.
He has no trouble with the way he does it
Again Spectacular Art!
Thanks
A Vietnamese doing Japanese joinery is like a Greek making Belgian chocolate. (Greek is another country in Europe rather far and unrelated to Belgium; Belgium is a country where they make good chocolate)
What types of wood are best suited for this type of craftsmanship, or can it be done with any/most? Don’t know much about this, looking to learn more
Thats so sick.
I m watching all of your vids.
Thanx a lot
awesome!
Che artista. Penso che pochi possano imitarti.
Perfekt 👌

thank you very much i learn a lot from you!!!! you inspire me to learn and work.
can you maybe make for your self a solid carpentry table whiteout thin wiggly legs (that's what you do and you don't have it) whit a video tutorial offcorse i think that will be a win win for you and viewers.
p.s littel bit more information on the marking before cutting will be very informative.
Excellent videos and a great channel, subscribed. Would be nice though to see the completed joint at the beginning of the video ( this is what I'm going to make. ) then watch it being made.
THANKS
Awesome
nice layout
Wonderful skills! I wonder why you didn't use a Japanese saw.
Good job
Hi there. Can anyone tell me what species of wood this is? Thanks for such amazing videos and knowledge! 👌👏
Hi :D
I do not know, but from the way it behaves, i would say some type of oily hardwood. Not seen anything behave like that, where i live (northern Europe). Only Thing coming close, would be oak, but that is not quite as flexible in the narrow cuts. Hope someone can answer your question propperly :)
I have seen a lot of carpenters from different asian countries, working with wood that behaves like this, and I am also currious :)
does that need to be glued as well or does it just soak in water to expand?
