My buddy who went to college with him (both of em studied music at APU) had never told me that anyone he knew was better than him at drums in the 6+ years I'd known him... came back at some holiday break one time and was like "this dude Robbie at my school is so much better than me at drumming and music in general that it makes me want to quit. He's 100% going to be famous"

Dude was just playing at a random e3 party, but it turned out the be the greatest show I think I've ever been to.
Robert Delong blew my mind that night, must have been a similar time period to this because the set was mostly the same.
Was at one of the old LA movie palaces at a party I somehow got 5 dudes in who weren't on the list because I used to be fucking smooth like that.
I gave some (mostly) true story about running for 9 blocks from an armed and angry homeless man (I knocked over his bike at the 7-11) and they just let everyone in.
Like 6 open bars, face painters, free swag..
one of my bro's and I spent most of the set a foot from the stage while another tried to schmooze girls (he was young and single).
Those 5 or 8 years in our 20's were epic. And this random show from those years will always be a great memory.
Whatever he did inbetween Jealousy and Don't Wait Up I want on Spotify.

Just saw him at redrock, opening for Tears For Fears. Had a women playing another set of drums. Better in concert. Moves so fast. Tears for fears so awesome. But have had Robert Delong songs stuck in my head ever since.
To anyone who thinks this is choreographed, no way its possible someone could do all of that, think how hard it would be to memorize all of those precise movements, just to fake it. Then, think of how hard it would be to learn all of those movements to make this as music. Whats easier? Obviously, he's a go'damn brilliant either way.
