I'm starting to wish I had been born a Finn. I'm pretty shy, and terrible at small talk. I live in terror of silence falling on a conversation. It's nice to know that in Finnish culture, silences are expected and appreciated.

Am living in Petersburg, but seems i am natural born finnish (spiritually). Please, take me from that damn city, i want to live in the finnish wood cabin rest of my life :D :D ;-)
Aaaaah... blueberry pie. Nothing is better, but rice porridge comes close. As Finnish as blueberry pie could be used instead of as American as apple pie. But did you know that in English speaking countries, or in the USA anyway, blueberry is a bit different berry. If one said "European blueberry," bilberry or whortleberry then that would equal to Finnish mustikka.
Good point on the blueberry actually. They are super different. When I started eating blueberries in Ireland i actually thought they were raw because they tasted different and weren't blue/black inside.
Just discovered through Ancestry.com that I have 40% finnish DNA. I guess I should try to learn the language :) Should I bother? Is it too difficult? thanks.
Val Drake you have a 40% chance of learning it. I wouldn’t be surprised if it would all come back to you by activating your Finnish DNA with some Finnish language 😉

Done. 6) I can't ski but I can skate, and my ass can confirm it! Done (half) 7) Alcohol. Pfft. Done. 8) Avanto uinti. Diving deep into icy water and then run to sauna? Sounds great! Where I can do that?. Missing (for now!) 9) Modesty. I'm Jon Snow and I know nothing. Done. Is the exam successfully completed for me? ^^
Happy Kalevala Day :) Still loving the videos. But I doubts Australians can ever learn the Finnish language. We tend to drop vowels when we speak, it seems Suomi add them ..

It's OK with breakfast, but then... doesn't sound for me. BTW if you order a blueberry pie in a restaurant in Finland, it's made to order, so it's warm, fresh and really delicious.
Hi Emma, Great video. Loved all the information about Finnish food. Sometime do a video about your life in Australia or your previou life in Ireland. Show us the town, beaches, The Bush, what you are doing for fun etc etc.

I was once in Finland, to visit my friend. I felt in lve with this country, especially countryside. For sure I will come back there.

Hahaha yes love it!!! Ice swimming anywhere that has a frozen lake, also it can be dangerous so better to do it with experienced Finns 😅
