Just watched this whilst parked up on break, when you said hello tomtom recent destinations you managed to re plan a route on my own sat nav 🤣 no idea where I will now end up but looking forward to the mystery tour 🤣
I use this model Tom Tom and they are a great bit of kit but my only issue with I’m guessing all truck navs are that when you put your vehicle weight anything over 7.5T it can take you down some crap lanes to avoid the “except for access or except for loading” weight restrictions when you can go though them to load or for access etc
I've heard these will still try and take you under low bridges and down unsuitable roads sometimes. But part of truck driving is using your noggin, don't blindly follow the road, if a road seems unsuitable or there are restrictions then don't follow the satnav.
Straight up paid promotion. Fair play for being upfront and honest Luke. I’ve use a Tom Tom most of the time but I always keep a road Atlas in my wagon because you never know if may go down👍
I'm a new driver on the vans and soon moving onto class 2. This is the only satnav that really looks suitable for the job. Especially with your information. So I've bought myself one with your code 👍
The 6250 is typically a waste of money. I use the 620 myself which has the exact same functionality as the 6250 but without the sim card option. Simple, just tether your data connection from your phone. 620 is about £100 cheaper too. I only wish that TomTom would sort out the issues with the map where it tries to send a 55ft lorry down a road not fit for vehicles of that length or trying to instruct you to make impossible U turns etc.
I am glad your honest is saying you were given this satnav, 🙂I purchased a used Tomtom 6200 pro after watching your vlog & a few driver mates said buy one, what no-one said is that that for camera's traffic you have to pay for as a extra. I did have a Garmin before (about 10 years old) never once did I have to pay extra for camera's or traffic updates, Tomtoms web site is not great & contacting them is not easy. I wished I purchased a different companies product 🤔also on a road works diversion it tried to reroute me down a lane with a 12' bridge (I drive with a 16'2'' double deck trailer)
Hello there, when setting the truck dimensions, What do I put in Axle weight as it’s only asking for a single weight when There are 2 or more axle? Thanks in advance
Hiya buddy…I’ve had Tom Tom 6250 since Father’s Day 2021 it won’t power up now..I use it most days all wires etc are ok…?spoken to Tom Tom through email (very hard getting customer service covid times all numbers don’t work)any advice please..thankyou for your time…
I have the 6250 and there are sections of highways that are totally open to the passage of heavy vehicles and the 6250 throws me on conventional roads because it tells me that said sections are cut to heavy vehicles and I do not know how to solve this problem
Like all sat navs, you totally rely on them at your own peril. That being said, I have one of those Tom toms and I don’t go anywhere in a HGV without it. 10/10 would buy again. Free map updates, traffic and speed cameras for life, yes please.
@@erinmingo5919 unfortunately not, took it back for a refund, my 7 Yr old one with outdated maps performs better, maybe I had a dodgy one, but wasn't impressed with it!
Hiya Luke brilliant video thankyou...ime also a hgv driver ..in uk..seriously thinking about this model...not sure if you can...but is it possible please to download businesses to Tom Tom sat navs...I do multiple drops and use google maps if the business isn’t at my Tom Tom destination.(postcodes are big areas ...on industrial estates one postcode for whole estate sometimes) Is there away please of downloading businesses to the Tom Tom ..then it would be much easier to find businesses as a pose to postcodes .Thankyou for your time like....ash

Hi I am new bus driver 1 question please its good for bus our mini bus our something live same buses thanks alot I am planning to become hgv driver next year
Such a shame we couldn't see the screen very well, should have pulled your curtains. Apart from that good review, but shame we couldn't see what you was doing lol
James Redmond I still have the original TOM TOM from something like 2003/2005 when they very first come out big fat chunky thing it is like holding half a house brick and it still works despite half the new roads on new build estates are not on there as roads just fields we’ve built so many new estates since the Tony Blair’s years🤣 I remember going from a glove box full A&Zs noou
this is the satnav i use, it is good, but its hella fucking slow sometimes, went through a phase of crashing too, tryna find a little shop in a village scattered with one way systems and low bridges its not ideal when your driving the double deck' trailer and the sat nav dies
Just watched the vid, looks a good bit of kit. When you use voice commands, are you able to input say a post code this way to change a destination en route? You know what plannners are like for changing their minds! 🤣
Bought one and not impressed, still wants to take me over the water in Bath despite an 18 ton weight limit. For a regular drop in Worcester definitely chooses the worst of two routes, when you drive by the suggested route it wants to take you up a road signposted ' unsuitable for HGV's'. When you set up my routes on line all you get on the Tom Tom is an overview of the route and voice over, but doesn't show the 'as you go; view.
The bath weight limit is still quite new. I know exactly the one you’re referring to. Unfortunately.l there isn’t a single satnav you can relay on 100%. You need common sense too
@@lukecinahgv Of course, however that weight restriction has been in place long enough, it's not that new. Tom Tom have been in the business long enough to get things right.
To be totally honest mate I already had the 6250. I last used the 6200 well over a year ago so it's hard for me to give comparisons to a unit I can't really remember much off lol. But they are pretty much the same. Maybe the SIM card is dedicated in the 6250.
The 6200 came with one year cameras and traffic , after that you had to pay. The 6250 has lifetime subscription on both....that's the main difference. Hardware is probably the same.
Tom Tom try to sell old product because of new DEZL OTR 700 , 800 , 900 which looks amazing like tablet Be careful with TomTom half of my favourites stop recognised on tomtom 520. Dezl very good because show your daily driving time and time to brake ,total hours driven .
Not good enough, very slow, loses connection to traffic, does not make difference between “7,5 ton restriction” and “7,5 ton restriction unless loading/offloading”, crushes, loses the voice, takes ages to update, Bluetooth connectivity crushes often, ridiculous instructions sometimes like thinking M25 is closed (for more than a month) or asking you to make a U turn just before the start of the left tube of Dartford crossing and join the right tube- even though the height is set at 4 metres. After Dartford crossing- asking you to come off the motorway, go through 2 roundabouts and join the motorway again, as it thinks the motorway is closed (for about 2 months). Almost all the time there is no traffic connection in Belgium and France, losing it often in Germany and the Netherlands too, absolutely not worth the price tag, I have the feeling it is designed by a hang over man in Monday morning. It is a shame in 21-st century rubbish like this to be called “the best truck sat nav”… I guess it would be alright… for the 1980-s…
Nice review - but Scott beat you to it yesterday ;) #morescott Looks like a great piece of kit. Nothing against TomTom but worth highlighting that my 3 year old Garmin DezlCamLM has magnetic fix to its screen mount and live traffic updates. I agree about how handy it is to have a mount for the car as well as your truck and also the real value of being able to set profiles for height/weight etc. for different vehicle profiles (which my Garmin also does). I'd certainly think about the TomTom if my Garmin dies.
Just watched this whilst parked up on break, when you said hello tomtom recent destinations you managed to re plan a route on my own sat nav 🤣 no idea where I will now end up but looking forward to the mystery tour 🤣
That's funny lol . Hope you get home tonight lol
If not let's hope the destination is HGV friendly for a 45hr weekly rest period

That’s easy to say but if you haven’t been to a certain area before then you’re clueless as to where to go xx

Hello Luke ,

Thanks Luke. A year later and your discount code still works. Been looking for the cheapest place to get the 6250 turns out it was RUclips. Haha
Have you got the link for the discount code please
One thing would be good Is if they had a option that would avoid the ULEZ zones central London
Nice 1 bud, just used this code 🙌 £320 with next day delivery! Bang on that
Good luck Luke,bless you🙏🙏

I am about to sue TomTom GO professional. Its joke sometimes, taking me anywhere it wants in my low loader artic.
Thanks the video. Sorry but one question. Which better in europe...? Tomtom 6250 or garmin dezl 780 ? Thank you and take care of yourself.
Hi, does de tomtom go professional 6250 have support for high capacity vehicles and the rules and laws involved in the netherlands?
Is this Tom Tom 6250 good in central London and inside the cities ?????

Hi, how long is it valid? I mean the promo code, thanks
As I put on Scott’s vlog beats the road atlas we used in the seventies.
Hi mate just wondering have you ever worked for any companies that do not allow you to use a sat nav while working? Hope its not a stupid question lol
Been using the Trucker 5000 for 5 years or so and I can only recall a handful of times where it's shafted me lol
I just wanted to know the difference between the go pro 520/620 and 6200 and then the one you have 6250
Can you enter multiple routes on this?
Can you do multiple destinations in the one route
Looks a good piece of kit how much and do you have to pay a subscription for the live traffic updates??
Had this nav for a year now, cant fault it
Surprised tom-tom haven't dived into the dash cam market like garmin ie built in camera into the sat nav itself
Thanks Luke!👊😎
Nice video keep it up Luke and don't give up
Just bought the Tom Tom go expert
Just been given the tom-tom go expert 😉

Better than a Garmin Dezl ??

Not really...only the traffic info is better. Routing and general device quality are better on Garmins
Is it for only hgvs
