This is really well done and the insight was wonderful, about the one primarch who knew about the chaos, Could it be the LION? And that's how the Emperor knew why the Lion would be absolutely loyal to him and him alone.
    Thanks for the insight.

Thanks man! It could well be the Lion! He is certain of the Lion's loyalty

I think I read somewhere that the Chaos Gods wanted The Lion over Horus. The Lion was constantly dealing with whispers from the dark powers when he was growing up on Caliban as they attempted to seduce him. They only turned to Horus when they finally accepted the complete incorruptible nature of The Lion...
Also in regards to the Dark Angels, the traitors didn't join Chaos, they joined Luther. Luther joined Chaos but had his blessings revoked after failing to kill The Lion.

@B M I think that was Sanguinius. When Horus declared that he was going to kill him instead of trying to turn him, someone asked if it's bc he knows Sanguinius is the only primarch the chaos gods would favor over him. I wanna say Ka'Bunda told Sanguinius that he was the one the chaos gods truly wanted as well.

I think the Emperor planned out far more of the Heresy than is typically believed. Angron getting the nails may not have been, but using them to create an unbalanced Primarch that would easily fall prey to Khorne is definitely something he planned for as he knew that Angron could have been brought into the fold easier than he was. Like the Khan, Angron believes the Emperor to be a dick and that is because the Emperor didn’t let him fight with his slave buddies or save them from the High Riders.
Likewise, Mortarion was always given the crappy slog fest jobs and never any appreciation for them. He felt like a tool being used for a purpose and no love from the hand that wielded him and his legion. This would have left him open to the loving tenderness that Nurgle offers - just look at the behaviour of the greater daemons of Nurgle to the lesser daemons.
Horus being made Warmaster instead of the Lion was calculated to make sure the Lion would remain loyal as a big middle finger to his dad as he can say “should have made me the Warmaster, now look what’s happened”.
There are many other instances of where a nudge or a word has caused chain reactions of outcomes and with his foresight, the Emperor would have been able to predict most of them. Contrary to what was said here though, I believe the Emperor did in fact plan for the Chaos Gods to get involved in the Heresy, knew they would instigate it, and planned how to ensure they got playing pieces that would mean they lost, rather than one - for example, getting Angron to fall to Khorne rather than Sanguinius.

Just a note; Mortarion deeply resented the fact that the emperor didn't let him kill his father on barbaras. That was a strong motivating factor imo.

I think further evidence that the Primarchs memory is in thier blood, is shown when Fabious bile clones Fulgrim and it awakes to start attacking his sons until he is whisked away by the Necron. Definitely need to go reread this short little book though.

@@davidrice5030 thanks man. I enjoyed it. As powerful as the khan is, I always assumed he would be outmatched by demon Morty so it made a lot of sense to me that he would "sacrifice" himself to bring down Morty.
Enjoyed the description of Morty's influence on terras morale so really gives a lot of credence to the khan being a peoples champion

One thing. My reading of the conversation between Malcador and the Emperor in the Vengeful Spirit is that the Emperor did not think Roboute would turn traitor, but Malcador did. It comes up because Malcador mentions that the Lion is making for Macragge. The Emperor asks why isn't the Lion coming to Terra. Malcador says there are "unsettling rumours" about what's happening in Ultramar. The Emperor can't see what's happening in Ultramar because of the warp storm, but Malcador asserts that Roboute is building an empire and the Lion does to stop him.
The Emperor already knew what Roboute was doing. It wasn't a secret that Roboute was creating his kingdom within the Imperium. In fact, that was a small point of contention between the Imperium administration and Ultramar. If an Ultramarian expedition took a planet, it became an Ultramar planet and subject to Ultramar rules, including payment of tithes and appointment of rulers. The Imperium did not control those planets. This was a matter of contention for Malcador, so it would not be surprising that Malcador did not trust Roboute, but I think the Emperor did. Why else allow Roboute to create his kingdom?

    • @adventofknowledge
      @adventofknowledge 9 месяцев назад

I always wondered if that, the emperor had actually planned for that to occur in the first place. The realm of ultramar is actually extremely rational and sensible for the most part, and is probably the fairest and most just human territory. So I wonder if the intent was to eventually have the mentality of ultramar be spread across the imperium with the exception of the sol system, which would ultimately result the sol system becoming a little bit like the vatican is now. A city state within a greater nation. So the emperors dominion would be all of it, but his primary focus would be from terra and from within the sol system. It would be far easier to trust the fate of humanity to the sense of justice and honor of the ultramarines vs say idk, the white scars lol and guillemen by default is effectively a master administration and governor.
      - Magnus would power the throne.
      - Roboute would govern the kingdom.
      - Horus would be the general of all armies. (Including Jagatai, Angron and Mortarion and especially kurze as he is essentially a weapon)
      - Dorn and Perturabo would be the great builders and architects of both civilian and military structures, defences and so forth.
      - Alpharius/Omegon would lead the spy agency side of things, Corvus Corax would lead infiltration aspects.
      - Leeman Rus would be the hunter of daemons.
      - Fulgrim would be the architect of imperial culture and Arch-diplomat.
      - Ferus Manus would design the armaments of all imperial forces.
      - Vulkan would be the link of normal humans to the astartes as the salamanders care the most about non trans-humans. (Salamanders would aid the iron hands as well)
      - The Lion would be the seeker of all things eldritch and abomination, to root it out and destroy it before it can harm humanity.
      - Lorgar act as the one who would keep the people in check morally
      - Sanguinius would be the Emperors right hand and perhaps his eventual successor when he naturally achieves apotheosis just before the plan is finally realised.
Thats assuming of course, they were not all just pawns in a much larger game than the current larger game we are currently aware of lmao
