- Ever wondered what's inside the elusive 1:8 scale Ferrari 643 by Rosso Corporation? I've been commissioned to build this one, though the owner has already made a start. This video runs through all the bits that are in the kit, which will be built as Alain Prost's 1991 race car.

From what I've seen in your recent videos, the person who commissioned you to finish this kit has nothing to worry about! You're an awesome builder, and I think you'll do a great job. It looks like you have fun when you do these projects, which is essential to make it an art...as you do.

Yes, I have made a start (but slow progress!), just haven't made a video so far. I post build updates on the blog, so the latest stuff is always there - www.wixy500.com/current-projects/ (and usually on Facebook too).

Are you going to do a series of build videos of this?
Not 100% sure if it'll be a series or just one big summary vid at the end - which do you prefer?
Personally, a video series. Reason for this, is that I have managed to lay my hands on one of these Rosso kits as well. Not sure whether I will do upgrades or not yet, but really interested to see how you do things. I am still a relative novice and always willing to learn 😊

Are there any other companies that provide 1:8 assembly kits like this one?
There's not many that I'm aware of. DeAgostini did a McLaren MP4/23 that required assembly and Pocher have some 1/8 models. Eidai did a McLaren M23 many years ago.
I just finished a super detailed version of this kit. Lots of after market metal parts, a complete repaint, new wheels. If you rub this kit a little, you’d be surprised by what you can get out of it. I’d post a few pics. But don’t know if I can here. I have built so many of these, so I know lots of tricks to this kit, so reach out if you want to see my model or have any question. I will subscribe.

Actually this kit on its own is under-detailed for its scale. You need to double the cost by (trying) to buy the transkit. I have 2 Pocher classic kits and have spent a rabbit-hole on detail sets. I also have the Pocher 1/4 Ducati but the transkit is $3000 NZ (3 times more than the kit). I drew the line there.
Yeah, I agree. I will be adding some detail, but we have yet to decide whether to go down the hard-core aftermarket path.

I could only afford a finished kit and the decals are in bad condition and it looks like they lacquered the chassis !! 😝
