I am happy Stephen demanded perfection from all the crew. Now we have a blockbuster movie that might last 3-4 generations in terms of creativity and technicality. It shows when a film maker truly loves what he does and gets the best people around who share the vision and execute it perfectly. He's got a great story, filled with rich characters , tension and pendulums , multiple payoffs , and the viewer walks away with a great feeling of having watched something truly wonderful.

The Beast, played by Bruce Leung, is actually a beast in real life, he's not just a martial artist performer and actor, he's an actual kick boxer and MMA artist at some point in his life, though there are rumors about him defeating 10+ thugs all at once, let's just leave it as a rumor, but he's still a beast.

But I find the trick that was presented in " romeo must die" when we ,the audience were given the real thing that happens actually inside the human body when jet lee broke the backbone of his opponent with just one devastating kick to the head , just marvelous ! That gives us all a slight understanding of the real power that can be generated by a true master of gung fu !❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
it's so interesting that @32:32 the visual FX director estimated this would take 100,000 hours for a single person to do all the VFX shots; but reckon with technology these days it would take probably 2 months for say Corridor to do; given that they do quite complex VFX challenges over a week in which a person will do about 2-3 scenes in that time.

Hmmm think you're thinking of Jeffrey Lau and Wong Ching. Stephen Chow was a great comedy actor but directing not so much.
He's not the only one, but did it best. His works feel like a whole Stephen Chow cinematic universe to fans.
