I cancelled my order of this bike mainly to wait for the newer components like the upgraded display, upgraded left control buttons and a few other improvements like the cable management going over the rear suspension, the dnm shock hitting the battery as well as more upgrades as the newer versions of the bike come out. Definitely an amazing bike with incredible customer service. So many quick changes being done in the ebike world I'm excited to see how things unfold in the next several months.
Not sure where you heard they are upgrading display?
@@StayConnectedEV Wired has the new upgraded display on theirs. I feel it's only a matter of time until ecells includes them with the five star. I could be totally wrong, just a hunch.

Most people never do "hardcore" off roading with these bikes. Grass fields and fire trails etc., more often....

Truth...Shippers....abuse those boxes. Boxes are big, awkward abs heavy....and shippers never have 2 people moving them...one person wrestling with them...

The AWD Ecell Bike....perfect for hunters and outdoor people....able to carry a "Ton" of gear and power to pull a cart full of.....

Thanks Dave for your insightful look at the 5 Star it’s definitely on my list of bikes to own has been since they announced it, I’ve almost pulled the trigger on it a couple of times, but I’ve got bikes coming in right now that deserved my full attention so I figured I’d wait. Maybe later in the summer when things calm down. I’ve talked to David Cleveland on the phone. He’s very passionate about his bikes unfortunately I think I aggravated him. Not sure why. But I’ve reached out a couple of times and I’ve have not got a response. He seems to gravitate towards the speed guys, so I’m glad to see you do a review on the bike. I would probably order it with the extra battery and torque sensor. I don’t love the crown fork or the large light.

@@StayConnectedEV I did a computer review on his bike, comparing it to the wired basically the day after it was announced I went off his specs on his website. He changed them the day after he talked to me on the phone 😄 he started the conversation by calling me a liar but by the time we were done I thought we were in a good place. No worries though like I said he’s a passionate man and I’ve got respect for that. I have never seen anybody spec out a bike for presale and then make it better by the time it actually came out for the same price. He earned my respect.

I'm sorry to hear that friend. Truth is David doesn't care that much about his customers, at least when you say something he doesn't like to hear. I did try buying their bike (import to my country) and because I had to ask for their IBAN/SWIFT codes (which is bank info needed to international purchases) to pay the guy he shut me down and said he wasn't in the mood of selling and blocked me from Whatsapp. I also don't know why he got irritated with me. I can't seem to find a reasonable explanation for this. I just believe some people are that way, but a company owner being this moody is very odd. Their bikes are awesome, but customer service is far from 5 stars. Hope you get a response soon enough

Has anyone seen the E-Cells with the 24” wheels? I’m short, 5’2”, 125 lbs. this has been the new bike I’ve been looking for.

5-Star . The bike has to be very rugged for my area, rocky roads and steep hills. Fat tire.

Don't listen to Jfly. He owns that shady copycat company called Wired. The one that can't even get thier gear UL certified! It's only a matter of time until thier bikes catch fire, or Hentach refuses to warranty thier motors thanks to shoddy controllers wired uses.
You have a few options here with ECells.
1. The Five Star in a 17" frame of you want a step over style frame. I highly suggest the 24" tires to lower your standover to around 28".
2. The step star, which only comes in 24" wheels, and is a step thru style frame.

I’m waiting on a step star in gloss black with gold rims and the dual battery option. I feel it was a better choice than the Wired Cruiser.

1. Do you ever plan on getting Wired bikes the UL certification?
2. Hentach is refusing to warranty their motors if they are connected to your "bigger, better" 45 amp controllers, that are really only half the size of Ecells and no thermal potting? Are you wrong, or is your motor supplier wrong?

I've owned the 19-inch five-star, and the wired freedom and ecells makes the better ebike, and the customer support is really good. Wired really let me down when it fell apart on me

I would go with Five Star. The Nireeka I had many issues that were painstaking to resolve through phone. The Ecells I also believe is much better deal for the user and quality is superior.

Great vid. I'm 6'2" and 240lbs as well, but opted for the 17" frame... Was that a mistake? Should I have taken the 19"? I love the black on black which gives a stealthy look. I know the logo is reflective but I would like a dark grey one that blends with the stealth look

Looks like in your speed run you weren't hitting the peek wattage looks like you were only hitting around 1800-1900W. Mine did that to if you open up the advance settings look for C5 mine was set to 3 and i changed it to 10 and made a huge difference I think I'm getting around 2200-2300W now. Just be careful taking off or just use pedal assist 1.
yes I know I wanted to pedal the bike and see how fast I could with PAS1
If you set the C5 to 2 it will soften the start torque while still providing full power via the throttle. I made the change to my 5 star and it changed the character of the bike, making it much easier to start with the throttle.

Thanks for the review. I’m trying to decide between a 17” or 19” frame. I’m 6’2 and a couple of other people that height seem to be happy with the 17”. Do you think your 19” is a great fit for you? Not sure how to decide…

You're only talking one inch higher stand over height difference. Rear rack heights are identical. 17 & 19 measurements come from middle of crank to top of seat tube.
You should be buying the frame size based on your inseam length not total height.

my inseam is 34" and I used 150PSI for the shock.
How does it compare to the Dual crown 1500 monarch?
Well the super monarch is a dual motor bike so its hard to even compare. The Monarch is more powerful for sure!

Wired has a second battery they are shipping? I don't see that? They don't even have a bike to sell. ECells sells their dual battery ith Crown Fork and 7" light and 2nd battery for $2250 SHIPPED and they have it! Its not a concept
Ecells is less expensive compared side by side with the dual batteries of the competition due to no tax, $100 promo code, no shipping, or shipping insurance, and you get the upgraded front fork and headlight. Can’t beat the quality! Ecells has been perfecting their streamlined dual battery system for years. It wasn’t just thrown on a bike.

A little constructive criticism for you if you're open to it: Calling this ecells bike "The Rise of the Emperor" is a blatant display of favoritism that completely undermines your credibility. Crowning the Ecells bike "the emperor" solely because David gifted it to you when others (Wired) wouldn't is a disservice to your audience and a breach of your very own integrity. Your lack of experience with Wired e-bikes further invalidates your comparison. A fair review requires firsthand knowledge of BOTH products, not just riding the one you received for free. I recently watched another one of your videos and WOW....please educate yourself on e-bike components and technology instead of showcasing your lack of knowledge. Seriously, LEARN all you can about ebikes if you want to be a respected reviewer who's taken seriously. Most importantly, value your integrity and self worth and offer honest opinions based on merit, not gifts. You come off very insincere when you speak. If you're going to review e-bikes, do it properly. Compare them fairly, based on their features and performance, not on who's buttering your bread. Your viewers deserve better than this biased and uninformed assessment. For the record, I have first hand experience riding both bikes. The ecells 5 Star is a fantastic bike, no doubt, but it's not the emperor by any means. IMO comparing the stock 5 star against a stock Wired Freedom there's no clear winner as their just about identical in their performance. The only things that would even justify a comparison between these bikes are warranties, customer service and style of the bike. Again, this is only constructive criticism from someone who has several years of professional experience with multiple ebike brands including repairing, modding and selling. Please take my comments as a way to improve yourself and your channel. Wish you all the best.

40 amp. Hentach will not warranty thier motors if they are attached to 45 amp controllers.
