Regarding seatpost slippage, either apply some grip/friction/carbon paste, or change "upgrade" the clamp.
That bike looks amazing with all those upgrades. For the seat post issue, you can have a knurl put on the outside diameter of the seat post. I can do that knurl on a lathe at my workplace. Let me know if you decide to go that route. Nice video on the Ecells e-bike.
Beautiful! Nice job.
Purchased a stock 17" and excited to get it in. Unfortunately, they were out of stock 17" so I have to wait for the next shipment with no ETA. However, on a positive note, I was able to purchase before the $300 tariff with Dave's July 4th $200 off discount for $1795. Thanks for the customizable tips and links.
Some of my "first-call" accessories/add-ons would be...
CC LED-type wheel lights OR ANY motion-activated LED light system
Rear turn indicator lights
Looks sharp! Great additions.
The third screw is the B tension for the chain wrap on the freewheel. The issue with the seatpost..... look up FiberGrip. It comes in a paste form. Put on the post and a little inside the frame. Works great. You'll be happy.
Thx
Great mods, looks sharp!!
Thx for watching
Looking real good.
Thanks 👍
You need to add a better headlight, winter is coming.. Looks cool overall man! Also as far as adjusting your derailleur, the tourney is not very easy to get set correctly but I’d recommend looking up some how to vids. You want to release your shifter cable tension, set your high and low screws first without the cable connected, plenty of good vids out on the process. I’m throwing an Altus on my 5 star until I switch to a nicer clutched set up as I’ve had much better luck with those and they are cheap.
Thx yeah i should prob upgrade the derailleur at some point
Thanks for the ebike selling tips 👍
Great video
Maybe trim cutting some small piece of inter tube to put around the seat post. ?
Your link to the Ergon grips links to the model GC1, which is meant for bikes with swept-back handlebars. The Ergon CP1's would probably work better on the E-Cells bike (with straight handle bars). Let me know if you found different.
i would call ecells to get the recommended diameter of their seatposts. the swap it out for a suspension seat posts. some seatpost suspension brands come with shims you can also place with the post.
What about trying another seat post and shim combo? Unless it's the seat post clamping area inside and just can't get it tight enough. You could spray the post with automobile undercoating. 😂
Thanks I will try new combo
I used hair spray on my seatpost to stop it from slipping and it worked
Interesting hack
The orange accents look nice, but the orange disc bolts look rusted. 😅
They are a light orange not s dark as I wanted
Just got the bike. Where did you turn for guidance on the power settings? I am interested in reducing the power level on PAS level 1. I would like to keep that speed around 9-13 mph for just sightseeing type riding. From the factory my bike wants to hit about 18mph in PAS 1.
lower the C5 setting, i put mine down to 6 and now get 16mph on PAS 1, put it down to 2 or 3 maybe and try that
Does your bike run a cadence sensor or torque sensor?
cadence, i dont belive fast ebikes should have a torque sensor
Beyond a test, how comfortable are you at 35mph on the street with knobby tires? (not much contact patch). Gently sand the post and inside the clamp to rough up without removing any material.
will try that, im ok at 35 mph going straight, cornering is another story
Thanks for the accessory links; however I didn't see one for that nifty chainstay protector you are using. I like the looks better than the typical Lizard Skins that most folks are using. Do you have a link for it?

@@ChrisCrossed Thanks Chris!
@@ChrisCrossed oh wow you bought that!
I was thinking that you custom made that, It looks great
thank you for sharing :)
@@bellyacres7846 always easier to buy vs build lol
@@ChrisCrossed well said :)
I do argree, but thought you had built it as it was mighty fine & I hadnt seen that design before.
thank you for the link - I see some types Ida not see before. :)
I heard that you can do a wheelie when you pull the throttle on full. That is powerful. but how long does the battery last and how long does it take to recharger it?
I got 38 miles on a real world test with lots of hills but it can go farther on flat ground. About 7 hours
The stickers on the Battery were did you get These Done
I just uploaded their logo to StickeMule and had them made with a clear background
Are the Ergon Grips the same length as the stock grips you replaced on th 5 Star?
yes i think so
Installed the Ergon Grips. Big Improvement over stock Grips! Thanks for sharing.
40 mph....nice
you want to change those tyres.you'll get a puncher for sure.
Let me ask you a question not to get too personal but how tall are you and how much do you weigh being at 41 mph is a lot
six foot 175
How long did it take to get your bike?
Someone canceled heir order so I got theirs fast
@@ChrisCrossed my wifes bike had to be ordered so we got another month maybe
17 or 19 frame on your Ecells General?
17
is your throttle just an on - off?
What do you mean?
@@ChrisCrossed you operate the throttle full on or full off, that is why I ask if it is an on - off throttle?
Ah so yeah on and off, I mostly pedal so the throttle I use mainly for a burst of speed crossing the street, getting started etc
@@bellyacres7846 it’s always on, there whenever indeed it
@@ChrisCrossed oh wow thats the way to go for you then. :)
I was thinking it was just an on/off throttle.
its good to know the throttle can be a gradual thing.
I kinda stopped watching as it was just kinda jerky and reminded me of riding with my sister & others that gas n go - then stop - then gas n go - then repeat it again.
yeah its a bit hard for us that are along for the ride as our nerves tell us there is danger ahead - stop n check it out -
I like to look around and relax, listen to everything.
Im a bit distracted by the sporadic things. oops
but just a different driving style :)
[yup im one of those :( ]
