"Innocent until proven guilty" is how our laws are supposed to work. The reality for Law Enforcement is "Possibly guilty until eliminated from consideration". It has to be that way for them to logically find the actual guilty party, as well as safeguard themselves and others in the vicinity. With that in mind, don't give up your rights, but be reasonable in understanding the Officer's actions. Put yourself in their shoes and act accordingly. Although most have been respectful and honorable individuals, I have known LEOs that were bullies in high school and remained so with the added benefit of the law and a firearm backing them. You aren't going to win that fight on the street. Even if it means swallowing a little pride, acknowledging their authority is the best way to diffuse the situation until you are in a position for calmer heads to prevail. For those watching videos like this concerning self defense and EDC, diffusing the situation is always better than escalating it.

If you can't work that way, you are in the wrong business!! I never abused anyone throughout my career! Oh! You answered their knock at the Dr? Tisk tisk. They were there to build a case against you, not to clear your name.
If they had a case against you they would of come thru that door.
Go ask any real attorney if this is solid advice

I am a firm believer of cooperating with the police but I watched the entire police footage and I don’t believe he was not cooperating with the police he did not need to be body shamed like that I believe the officer should be fired and charged with assault and the city should be sued

Most of the time you’re right. Talking respectfully to the cop and giving Id usually gets you on your way quickly. However I’m seeing a lot of reports of cops checking on someone walking or eating in their car or whatever and demanding Id or else. Approaching the citizen very belligerently. There’s no give and take it’s do what I say now or you’ll get arrested for disorderly or resisting. Yes I understand that cops are trained to take control of the situation and they don’t know anything about you but a bit of basic friendliness and respect goes a long way to getting a modicum of compliance. But nowadays it’s just so militaristic. Armor vehicles, automatic weapons, every county has a least one swat team that are called for nearly anything it seems. When they kick in the wrong door or drag the wrong person out of a car for nothing there seems to be no recourse. Sure you can sue and maybe win a taxpayer funded settlement and the cops in question much of the time will just get at most paid leave unless it’s something really egregious. It seems the system is weighted too heavily towards the cop and the justice system. Oops wrong address sorry about your dog or oops guess this was the wrong car after all but don’t worry the garage down street will put it back together ,here’s the quote. And yes for every bad outcome there’s two hundred good ones but like anything else it’s the bad ones that stand out. Sorry about the rant but I’ve seen it both ways and it’s kinda a pet peeve of mine.

First and foremost we the people are not subjects. We are citizens, humans. You can and must assert your constitutional rights without being violent but firm. Many times, conveniently, the police have body cam failures. There's no way to prove they violated your rights. He said she said. If you live in a no stop and ID state ask for their supervisor. Remain calm. Record if possible. I support the police but we the people must be vigilant or loose our rights. Remain silent. Let them take you in. Do not get physical. Show me your papers , even when they think you fit a description that can apply to thousands of people , must never become the normal and bowed down to.

yes, "wrong" or not, the right to self defense covers the right to protect your self from any individual or group, who endangers your property, freedom, health, life, or those of other. This includes any and all cops, or other government agents.
the right to self defense, dosnt change, because some one else has a costume, an ego, and some fictional beliefs....not even if they name their fictional beliefs "The Law"
