What would you have done in this situation?
Been another cop, preferably a drunk Chief like Leonard Guida.
No need to play lawyer on the scene. It will do no good. I've had cops say that I "Match A Description...." while I'm just walking in my own neighborhood. There is nothing you can do in that moment, besides cooperate.
It's never a good day to pick a figh with a cop. You dignity can never be worth more than your life. Get arrested and then if you wish sue afterwards
My momma always said "two wrongs does not make a right". If I fight him on the side of the road I'm wrong. In the process of my wrong doing it would be easier for the cop to wash his behavior as necessary. When I remain calm and retain an attorney I ALWAYS maintain the high ground
Just cooperate if you know you did nothing wrong they will realize that hopefully quickly and apologize and be on your way
Stop making excuses for bullies with badges and guns.
Parts of this video does sound like the ex-cop is essentially saying: “if you’re being assaulted by a bad cop for doing nothing wrong your best course of action is to let them kerb-stomp you/break your spine and then just handle it later”. He seems to be ignoring the *PRACTICALLY COMPLETE LACK* of accountability except for the 0.001% of cops that go viral.
@@cjnewbsyou have to be extremely stupid to believe that the cop will just let you go. If you somehow overpower the cop, Their friends are coming in full force and you will be shot down like a dog
They get away all the time if I touch someone like that I will be charged with a crime but if a cop does that he get fired and get hired
The problem is the cop can never admit he’s wrong. Why would you drag it all the way to court when u know ur wrong?
The problem the Law Enforcement Officer have, is that they do not suffer anywhere near the consequences that a lawful citizen has to suffer when the LEO is wrong!
Do you know where I am going with this?
The problem is when someone is cooperating with an officer and they still use extreme measures. People are tired of the bad ass with a badge attitude. This is especially true when other officers are around, it's time to show just how bad ass they are.
Did the officer find acorns in the guy’s pockets?
Ha ha. Got you on this one. The falling Acorn video!
I don't want to go through all of the crap to sue the police and primarily enrich some attorneys.
I just want to be left the hell alone.
You got to be willing to fight for what you want. Founding fathers knew that.
History is full of lessons of those who did and did not
@@nickabel8279incredibly easy to say that. Vast majority of people do not have the time or money to go battle the police in court
Be lonely? No way.
Hypothetically, what if two officers mag dump through your front window and then reload and mag dump again? Asking just in case.
Stop wearing acorn magnets!
@@Stevaroonithat's if you're in the back of their cruiser.

@stevarooni Sorry, he's mentioning another case, but close. Two dei hires lit up a homeowner without contact or confirmation. And they screamed like the girls they are. Fortunately, the homeowner is alive to sue those amateurs into early retirement. Eyeballing for bad guys is bad enough. Now we have to keep an eye on the "good guys" too?
Cops are not trained to magazine dump Anywhere in America.
They are trained to double tap and fade to observation .
@@stevelyons2744 In the last few days, we have acorn man, the mag dumpers, and a female cop in Mississippi who steals shoes while on duty and gets driven to jail in her own patrol car.

He's a fellow HUMAN BEING!

yes, "wrong" or not, the right to self defense covers the right to protect your self from any individual or group, who endangers your property, freedom, health, life, or those of other. This includes any and all cops, or other government agents.
the right to self defense, dosnt change, because some one else has a costume, an ego, and some fictional beliefs....not even if they name their fictional beliefs "The Law"
K.C.S.L.
Yes Master, whatever you say Master. Nothing like being a serf/ slave to the man.
Their job is to Inforce the law, that badge does not make them the law or give them the right to disrespect people
Their job is to violate the constitution and collect money for the state
Enforce but yes I agree
If they’re wrong you fight in court, if you start fighting a cop who’s already wrong on the side of the road, you’re likely going to wind up in a world of hurt
And the cartels down south pull up with dump trucks and M60 in the back when they take on government. You can't play " might is right "with society in America and not be prepared to Lose.
WRONG.... if youre in court, your already the victim....... we have no obligation to be their victim, no exception, the time to defend yourself, is BEFORE you are a victim.
@@ZOMBIEHEADSHOTKILLERthen you wind up dead or in jail. Even if the cop is wrong, you still can't assault the cop.

So, potentially be beaten to a pulp if not to death trying to defend yourself or get the same outcome, but you comply... well, in other words, you're screwed either way.
however sensible this advise is, it is absolutely constitutionally protected activity to defend yourself from illegal detainment and physical harm and still be able to sue and telling people to cooperate is not good advise..its safe advise but at the end of the day you can defend yourself
Yes but they are insurance first not lawyers so they won't tell you what you can do just what your best chance is to get paid
ahahaha........ what a joke........... your right to self defense over rules any and all laws......laws do not over rule rights...... dosnt matter if what they do is legal or not, it dosnt change your right, and need, to defend yourself and others.
Excessive Use Of Force
This happened to me and a friend of mine up in Alaska. We sorta matched the description of 2 guys doing bad things. A cop stopped us as we were walking home on the road. He was nice, we didn't resist or anything and it was over in about 15 minutes. We weren't the guys he was looking for.
The founding fathers would be laughing at us all cowards.
You did nothing wrong just cooperate.
Remind me again what they did to tax collector's?
Never argue with a cop on the side of the road. That's what your lawyer is for. Maintain your rights against self-incrimination and unreasonable searches, but cooperate in all other demands. You will lose, if you don't
This one has a "don't resist tyranny" vibe. I get that it's probably a lose/lose situation. But cops are too heavy handed and rely on qualified immunity when they turn into terrorists.
The problem isn’t non-compliance, it the fact that the officer isn’t held responsible for their actions. The local municipality ends up paying the law suit. It takes no extra effort to explain the reason for the interaction of the officer. “We had a report of”, I stopped you because “. People are untrusting of law enforcement, help by being human and respectful. Most people will help if they can.
it's imperative to know your rights and how to assert them, especially in encounters with law enforcement.
rights.... like self defense.... which includes self defense against any individual or group who endangers you or others....... including the government.
Question: When Cops are wrong, what consequences do they face?
Lol @ cops admitting wrong doing
That depends upon the actions of the police. We do have the Second Amendment.
Good video. Great advice. I've been pulled over maybe ten times, for traffic violations. Each one justified. I addressed the officer as "sir" or "officer," never impatient. I've never been disrespected and a couple times, just got warnings.
How to legally defend yourself against police mistakes? IN CIVIL COURT!
If lawsuits actually worked you'd have a point. We're getting beyond that, given the continual violent behaviour of the police. Indiana codified it so this type of nonsense has actual repercussions. These are NOT "mistakes" on the part of these cops.
Fighting the cops is NO WIN, even if they are wrong. Cooperate physically, keep your mouth shut, nothing but your name. DEMAND your lawyer, if arrested.
Just give up all your rights. You aren't going to use them when pressed
This is why people hate the cops
Only losers do

The officer had legal authority to use force, but there was no need to slam him to the ground like that.
If I'm attacked by anyone I'm defending my self and im going by any means necessary.
How disgusting his thinking is… it’s obvious that the accused wasn’t resisting…But this retired officer is still making excuses for his fellow officers behavior.. Disgraceful
From the view point of the person getting harassed just for looking like someone. I think it’s completely reasonable to refuse an unlawful search. Make him get a warrant.
gonna get a slick little pay out
Did the robber say how dare you as hes getting stabbed?! The audacity 😮
"Innocent until proven guilty" is how our laws are supposed to work. The reality for Law Enforcement is "Possibly guilty until eliminated from consideration". It has to be that way for them to logically find the actual guilty party, as well as safeguard themselves and others in the vicinity. With that in mind, don't give up your rights, but be reasonable in understanding the Officer's actions. Put yourself in their shoes and act accordingly. Although most have been respectful and honorable individuals, I have known LEOs that were bullies in high school and remained so with the added benefit of the law and a firearm backing them. You aren't going to win that fight on the street. Even if it means swallowing a little pride, acknowledging their authority is the best way to diffuse the situation until you are in a position for calmer heads to prevail. For those watching videos like this concerning self defense and EDC, diffusing the situation is always better than escalating it.
Just let them violate your rights and lose them that's what they want, there's a heck of a lot of cops that are worse criminals than the so called criminals they are after. Sitting in your own vehicle talking on a cb radio in front of your home is not a crime, but some cops think it is
To me, not being able to ask questions or explain yourself in this country is not supposed to be a crime or taken as an act of aggression to be slammed to the ground!! They are in America!! They are treating everyone like a threat! I am retired military and law enforcement. Your life no longer belongs to you! Your life belongs to the people you serve! If you can't work that way, you are in the wrong business!! I never abused anyone throughout my career! Oh! I have slammed some bodies, but they were always based on aggression or passive aggression, not because someone is wondering why I'm investigating them! We have to do better, and that idea of just doing what the cop says is crazy! Your safety comes first, and if the threat is law enforcement, it's time to give up, and everyone has private security!!!
We have a natural right to self defense. It's absolutely bogus that we're expected to be bullied by these thugs and cross our fingers and hope we win in court. Eff this nonsense.
Cooperate, period.
You wouldn't believe in England, we'd actually go to jail just for pepper spraying these criminals
On Civil Rights Lawyer channel, you can see GBRS Company, a gun company, falsy accuse and get arrested their own emoyee. What do you do when you are put in shackles for no reason?
There was no fight here. The thug went overkill before establishing identity.
I've always had a fear of being mistaken for a cop killer.
That cop abused this guy. Period.
Where's the link to the complete video?
I have seen the full video of the body slam in the 1st clip (side of road). I can not believe You didn't see it as well. YOUR comments that he PROBABLY use to much force HORRIFY ME !
Last video shows Linnear and goons those are the ones that towed my vehicle 🚗!!!
its not your day in court, its months or years in court.
Same, compliance will win. The courts will decide whether the cop was out of line or you.
Yes. Bc the courts never rule to limit or remove a citizens rights.
They're 100 percent there for us and not to protect the crown
Easy answer. No. The arresting officer, the DA, and judge all work together to hammer any nail in the coffin they can. Can’t have our court system admit the made a mistake now can we.
Best advice is Lawyer Up!
It’s scary.
Just remember that you are guilty till proven innocent is what these two were saying....
That cop should have been charged
Of course a cop and attorney will agree on going to court, they both get paid to be there!
We gone fight and I’m gonna live.
Question for Mr. Grieve: If you are stopped for a traffic violation, say speeding, and the officer asks if I have any guns in the vehicle, am I required to provide that information? I do not want to lie. What are the possible outcomes if I remain silent?
Depends on state. Here in Michigan it's the first thing you do is show them your card.
You can view your state's laws on the Reciprocity Map here: www.usconcealedcarry.com/resources/ccw_reciprocity_map/ That information would be under "duty to inform" laws.
Deputy McMaster of the Paulding Co. SO has been fired and last I heard, they're looking into felony charges against him. We'll see about that.
Would not call what the "subject" was doing resisting.
This is a no brainer, of course you can't you just go with the program and you can sue after.
Its like recently in Dolton Il when an autistic teenager matched the description of armed suspects in the area and tased him. Or Cherokee NC where an officer shot an unarmed man in his home and nothing happened to the officers. Let them do their job and if it is wrong get a lawyer or take to social media. Start a campaign and stand up to make accountability job number one for these poor excuses of deputies.
In US we have a lot of respect for cops 👮♀️. They give their life away for you me and everyone if necessary. When anybody do something wrong and you get caught just do what they said!
If you didn’t do nothing wrong 😑 nothing is going to happen to you! I personally face a few cops and they always were very respectful and I always obey and cooperate with their request to keep the situation in good terms. Wrong doings or not cooperating is just going to hurt us instead of helping us!
💯💯💯
Maybe the first time I've ever heard Tom not say it depends.
I have been in that situation. I was driving around with a friend late at night to get out of the house a bit. We came back home and that morning the cops knock at the door and questioned us about where we were and what we were doing that late... They asked us to come down to the station for more questioning..... So we both drove to the station with the cops behinds us...... after 2 hours later they let us go..... I guess someone called the cops that someone was snooping into someone's backyard and gave them subscription of a car that was in that area of the time and it was us....
See, you didn't need to do that and you definitely shouldn't have talked to them without a lawyer. If they had any evidence, they would have got a warrant. Never, ever talk to the cops without a lawyer. Sure, that one turned out alright, but it could have gone really poorly and often does for innocent people.
You answered their knock at the Dr? Tisk tisk. They were there to build a case against you, not to clear your name.
If they had a case against you they would of come thru that door.
Go ask any real attorney if this is solid advice
Going downtown isa dumb move. Could have went way south at any time. Don't talk to cops without a lawyer
this was back in the 90's so was a different time than now a days...
Just comply like Daniel shaver maybe your family can get some money from taxpayers
Sound like the cops solicitor 😂😂
Of course, all of that assumes that the Cop is acting honorably and won't just kill you or permanently injure you.
Even if you are totally innocent should you talk without an attorney present to avoid talking yourself into trouble?
Can you protect yourself against the police when they are wrong and you're at risk of physical injury or death by their actions?
Of course you can, but these guys are saying you can't win. That you can fight it in court.... if you dare survive.
Plot twist the ex cop is actually the cop in the video 😳
Wow. My boyfriend is that cop. I'm pretending.
how you pull up with no weapon tho 😂
We shouldn’t have to protect ourselves from our “protectors”
Just go to court so they can use your tax dollars for thier shortcomings and then suffer no consequences becuase of qualified immunity 😒
Qualified Immunity is the most dangerous thing in the United States today.
@JWMR1951 nah that's whale feminists
Would need to be very careful about that, and limit such actions to events that risk serious injury or death to you or family.
I am a firm believer of cooperating with the police but I watched the entire police footage and I don’t believe he was not cooperating with the police he did not need to be body shamed like that I believe the officer should be fired and charged with assault and the city should be sued
The previous video is a fale representation of what cops are doing!
Most of the time you’re right. Talking respectfully to the cop and giving Id usually gets you on your way quickly. However I’m seeing a lot of reports of cops checking on someone walking or eating in their car or whatever and demanding Id or else. Approaching the citizen very belligerently. There’s no give and take it’s do what I say now or you’ll get arrested for disorderly or resisting. Yes I understand that cops are trained to take control of the situation and they don’t know anything about you but a bit of basic friendliness and respect goes a long way to getting a modicum of compliance. But nowadays it’s just so militaristic. Armor vehicles, automatic weapons, every county has a least one swat team that are called for nearly anything it seems. When they kick in the wrong door or drag the wrong person out of a car for nothing there seems to be no recourse. Sure you can sue and maybe win a taxpayer funded settlement and the cops in question much of the time will just get at most paid leave unless it’s something really egregious. It seems the system is weighted too heavily towards the cop and the justice system. Oops wrong address sorry about your dog or oops guess this was the wrong car after all but don’t worry the garage down street will put it back together ,here’s the quote. And yes for every bad outcome there’s two hundred good ones but like anything else it’s the bad ones that stand out. Sorry about the rant but I’ve seen it both ways and it’s kinda a pet peeve of mine.
First and foremost we the people are not subjects. We are citizens, humans. You can and must assert your constitutional rights without being violent but firm. Many times, conveniently, the police have body cam failures. There's no way to prove they violated your rights. He said she said. If you live in a no stop and ID state ask for their supervisor. Remain calm. Record if possible. I support the police but we the people must be vigilant or loose our rights. Remain silent. Let them take you in. Do not get physical. Show me your papers , even when they think you fit a description that can apply to thousands of people , must never become the normal and bowed down to.
Government should be held to a higher standard not a lower one. Until that happens I fully welcome seeing people take one for the team to put the fear of God into them any way they can.
Extenuating circumstances may require a citizen to physically defend themselves from corrupt occifart/s.
He didn’t fight the cop!! The cop was a bully! Glad he was fired!
At the end of the day the cop is going to win anyway 😂
So basically hope you have enough money to fight a government that has unlimited money. okay

Um why should cops enjoy super Constitutional rights while taking our basic rights away?
I don’t get it just let the officer clear you!!!!!! Who does it hurt ??? I just don’t get it!
Just comply citizen.
You think the officer wants to clear you? lol
If enough people excercise self defence maybe cops could go back to actually doing a proper job.
