Thank you Jeff, i already test drove the tacoma, tundra, 4runner and just for the hell of it, the rav4. Never would ve thought i would ve like it, but driving it made me fall in love with Rav4. And your videos been extremely helpful to help me decide, thank you again!!!!
@@TRownsPBC22-4 lol I’m glad you are having a good experience with your jeep. I honestly though from your original post you had moved forward with the RAV4 and I wanted to see how it was after a year. In any case, enjoy.
I'm a owner of the 2019 Rav4 XSE Hybrid...it is an amazing vehicle ....but the only thing people gotta be aware is the fuel tank issue....it did not appear to be a problem until i. fill up the tank for the 4th time....now there is an error with the indicator.......already reported to Toyota and now just have to wait for a fix.
I’m getting 37.8 mpg on freeway in my gas model 31 city 33 combined on a gas! Went with gas since I still own a Prius. I think the fact I came from a Prius helps me achievement this on the rav4
I chose the gasoline 2019 Adventure model for the different trim/styling. A Hybrid XLE, at the time, would have been more expensive than the base Adventure for the features I wanted. I've been averaging 23-25 in the city and 34 on the highway. Typically about 29mpg combined. Vote sent out for Alison!
I'm on the fence with hybrid and gas. My only concern with hybrid is the coast to take to a shop it has to be a shop where they deal with hybrid cars which is a extra coast.
We got 40mpg hwy on a recent trip and we are consistently getting better than the sticker mpg in the city. We drive conservatively so I'm sure that helps. XSE Hybrid.
Jeff...Personally for me (and my lovely wife) we would choose the Limited Hybrid. WITH: Tech & Weather Packages! However, The last couple of years we rented a RAV4 for 10 days each year to take on vacation. Last year we had a 2019 Adventure with JBL and the Weather Package. (Including the Vented Seats) This year we could only get a 2020 XLE Premium. No JBL but it did have the Weather Package. (NO Vented Seats) I wanted to get a Limited Hybrid this year but there were none available. Actually I was lucky to rent any vehicle. Because of Covid they were not renting them. However half of my 10 days was for a recall and Toyota does give out loaners for that. For both years we did get up to 32 mpg overall. We were NOT on the highway all the time either. So having the gas engine is not all that bad. Plus they have a REAL transmission. Seems Toyota worked out the kinks to the 8 speed as well. The XLE Premium ran just fine. FYI: I would have voted for your friend but, I do NOT use Facebook. Sorry....
Great video. Trying to decide between Xle gas vs Xle hybrid Any suggestions I don't do much city driving. I've heard gas only Ravs will be gas/hybrid only in 2025.
Cable gate Rav4 issues is still ongoing. They extended warranty for high voltage cable corrosion in 2019-2022 models. But did a minor “fix” and now they are not honoring the extended warranty on 2023+ models. I don’t want to be a guinea pig and be left stranded. While driving dynamics are nice with the added torque and HP in hybrid, it’s gas for me all day everyday. Plus the AWD gas model is an absolute beast in the snow whereas the hybrids rear electric motor is not mechanical and a lot weaker. Keep your car for years to come worry free.
It has an electric motor for the rear wheel, while the fronts are driven by both electric and internal combustion. When the battery is low, there is no power for the rear wheel drive. The car loses its AWD functionality.
Please include in a future review expected 10 year maintenance costs. I have heard hybrids have extremely long lived brakes. Does not have parts that go on gas engines, I’m curious how the expected repairs on a gas version compares to a possible battery replacement cost on a hybrid. A lot of assumptions? Sure. But food for thought.
Thank you for this video I recently purchased a 2020 hybrid xle awd and I wasnt sure what the major difference between hybrid and non hybrid was lol also I voted for allison !!

Can you explain the Softex materials Toyota's use.... Do they last longer than leather? I'm having such a hard time keeping my Softex seats clean. (RAV4 premium gas)
Do you know when the 2021 hybrid (not prime) is coming out? Trying to decide between the 2020 and 2021. Wasn’t sure if there would be any model year changes, including a gas tank fix? Go Allison!
I voted for Alission. Don't worry.. she will win Can you answer my questions please Does rav4 hybrid xse only has gloss black design or limited hybird also has it??? Does rav4 hybrid have birds eye view (360 view) ??
Jeff, Did you say 33% increase in mpg? Did you say faster 0-60? Did you say higher towing limit than the regular RAV4? Where do I sign for that #Hybrid ?
IF GAS PRICE IS NOT AN ISSUE, WOULD YOU PREFER AN HYBRID? I HAVE LIFETIME GAS IS NOT AN ISSUE WHAT SHOULD I GO FOR? ALSO MONEY IS NOT AN ISSUE. SO NOW YOUR OPINION PLEASE HYBRID OR GASOLINE. DON'T BRING ENVIRONMENT IN BETWEEN PLEASE. THANKS
Good video I am starting to warm up to the hybrid much more. The rav4 Prime is looking good also. Allison is a very attractive young lady. The blue eyes are the icing on the cake
Really love this car but what’s the issue everyone in my Facebook group is having ALOT of issues with the batteries just not working completely dead. And that’s after driving putting in some time
Toyotajeff in Raleigh darn! Idaho won’t be one of those I’m guessing. Also, I went to a Toyota dealer and they were telling me that the hybrid limited was better than the XSE? Is that true?
Ryan Goodman, Ryan you need to look to Oregon if you want the Prime. I live in Utah and will be driving through Idaho the Friday into Oregon to pickup our Prime.
Hybrid is outselling for more initial torque and lower fuel consumption but hybrid comes with a CVT which is a downside no Fun to drive a CVT...no feel of gear shifts and CVT does not have a very long life
@@Toyotajeff yup.. was thinking on Rav4 hybrid but when i saw some videos on the Venza.. wow it looks really promising. Hope you can do a video comparing both.... o'doyle rules
@@Toyotajeff I love the adventure cause of it's height and off the beaten path capabilities and the room it has for long distance traveling. Now only put some more meatier treads on it 👍👍👍👍👍😍😍😍😍
Prime or Hybrid = cablegate issue. I don’t like pending problems. I am old school and prefer to not worry about potential problems that could cost a lot. Just got rid of my last car in fear of a random issue that Ford has gone out of their way to hide and cover up. Right now, hybrid cost is more than the base msrp as you can always get a better deal on a non-hybrid (lower than msrp). If you drive a lot especially a longe range commute that often turns into parking lot of cars crab walking into a city, I would not hesitate for a second to get a hybrid or even step up to a plug-in or ev.
Let's be honest , that $1000.00 Will cost you much more in the future . This vehicle breaks down , cost a fortune to repair and the resale value is terrible after 100,000 miles , not worth much ! Don't ever buy used hybrid ! Stick with gasoline , save a bundle in the long term ! Keep up the good work!

Will you make a video about why the RAV4 PRIME is going to be hard to get? Can we still buy from Toyota online and have it sent to our dealership?!
I can make a video like that sure. No you cannot do that. It’s only going to some zero emission states and nobody else for the rest of the year
Toyotajeff in Raleigh darn! Idaho won’t be one of those I’m guessing. Also, I went to a Toyota dealer and they were telling me that the hybrid limited was better than the XSE? Is that true?
