During this scene I think Yamacha may have been stronger then when Goku initially went up to 100x He’s spent a bit of time on King Kai’s planet which is 10x and all of the events leading up to dbs. If he had done more training he should have been the one to take master roshi’s or tien’s spot on the team, since realistically freiza was going to be on the team anyway.

This is nothing more than an inconsistent plot error. Yamcha here is nowhere near Goku in Frieza saga. In reality, the 300x would kill Yamcha nearly immediately, and he wouldn’t be able to turn off the button. But for the sake of plot and wanting to show him competing with Vegeta, the writers allowed him to barely turn off the 300x.

In the Buu saga, there is an alien champion that states no human should be able to move in 5x gravity and is truly freaked out when the Saiyans are not impeded by that gravity. I knew knew that alien wasn't powerful, but I didn't realize he was get owned by Yamcha weak.

He may not be able to go 300, but if he start at 50 and increase with a step of 50 each time, I think he can get to at least 200. I have to assume it doesn't scale this way but x300 gravity shouldn't be a problem for someone x300 stronger than the average human and yamcha at that point is at least 10,000 times stronger than an average human. 300x gravity is fucking insane for those of you who don’t know. Humans pulling 5-9G in fighter jets begin to pass out almost immediately. Yamcha is standing consciously at 300G. Let that sink in. He’s one of the strongest humans on Earth for a reason (behind Krillin, Tien, and Roshi).
The worst part about this is, going by his training history, if he had simply toned it down to like x50 and worked his way up he likely would've caught up to Vegeta pretty quickly. Yamcha's weakness is always his mental.

Saiyans biologically are meant to deal with gravity 10x stronger than humans and have things like zenkai boosts. Yamcha would never catch up.

In the Buu saga, there is an alien champion that states no human should be able to move in 5x gravity and is truly freaked out when the Saiyans are not impeded by that gravity. I knew knew that alien wasn't powerful, but I didn't realize he was get owned by Yamcha weak.

He may not be able to go 300, but if he start at 50 and increase with a step of 50 each time, I think he can get to at least 200. With discipline, he can narrow down the gap between him and Tien and Krillin.
It is such a shame that he appears too early in the franchise, so as it progresses, his role become so very insignificant. The fact that he was kept around till the end is already amazing. The author could have done him some justice.

I have to assume it doesn't scale this way but x300 gravity shouldn't be a problem for someone x300 stronger than the average human and yamcha at that point is at least 10,000 times stronger than an average human. No matter how you look at it he should be fine un x300 gravity if he can defeat any of the ginyu force.

300x gravity is fucking insane for those of you who don’t know. Humans pulling 5-9G in fighter jets begin to pass out almost immediately. Yamcha is standing consciously at 300G. Let that sink in. He’s one of the strongest humans on Earth for a reason (behind Krillin, Tien, and Roshi).
And he manages to raise his arm in order to push the off button…

Yamcha is stronger than Roshi, and on his prime he is on par with Tien and Krillin.

The worst part about this is, going by his training history, if he had simply toned it down to like x50 and worked his way up he likely would've caught up to Vegeta pretty quickly. Yamcha's weakness is always his mental.

@@petergeramin7195they don’t have unlimited potential humans are considered to have a power soft cap, they don’t just exponentially keep increasing in power like a saiyan. Go lift your maximum weight, then train and lift your maximum plus one kg eventually you’ll reach a point where you can no longer add than one kilogram and you’ll notice the time it takes to earn those increases increases. Saiyans biologically are meant to deal with gravity 10x stronger than humans and have things like zenkai boosts. Yamcha would never catch up.

And I know why they did it, humans just couldn't keep up with the power creep of the saiyans, and they had new character to flesh out in the kids. Imho everything after Namek was poorly written. Toriyama even wanted to take a break and work on other projects, but his bosses kept pushing him to make more DBZ content. Everything after Garlic Jr. was a cheap attempt to recreate Goku going super for the first time. I know this is a VERY unpopular opinion.
