Saturday 15th July would see the first running for 2023 of the Railway Touring Company's popular tour 'The White Rose' from London Kings Cross to York and return via the ECML. The route for this tour was straight up the ECML through Stevenage, Peterborough, Grantham and Newark Northgate to Doncaster, and then via Church Fenton to York. Originally booked for 6233 'Duchess of Sutherland' this tour became far more appealing - for me at least as a Southern man - when 'Duchess of Sutherland's' maintenance was extended and she was replaced with MN no.35018 'British India Line' - making her first appearance on the southern end of the ECML, and possibly the first of its class in preservation - has Clan Line ran on the southern end of the ECML...?
So to the day, the predicted strong winds and heavy rain for once hadn't appeared although the wind was still very gusty. Two locations were possible at a stretch with some careful planning and I decided to start at Welwyn North, setting up two cameras at the north end of the down platform to capture 'British India Line' working away from a pathing stop at Welwyn Garden City just out of site across the viaduct. Luck was on my side as even the sun appeared as we see 'British India Line' work hard through the station and on to the passenger pick up at Stevenage. Heading on up the A1 Huntington was in the Sat Nav with the thought that if I got behind the arrival time I would move on to Peterborough, as 'British India Line' was due to take water at Huntingdon. Luckily traffic was light and 'British India Line' around five minutes late so I arrived about 10 minutes before and had time to set up on the up platform. We see 'British India Line' arrive and there was time for some detail shots of the loco before two cameras show the departure north up the ECML to York. A very nice mornings filming, thanks as always to all involved in running the tour!

Excellent Video. You seem to be suffering a ground loop or something as there is a lot of humming on the audio, which hopefully you can get sorted for the next one 👍.

Thanks Malcolm! Yes my microphone doesn't like the overhead wires, its worse in strong winds like it was yesterday! I am probably due a new one soon really, then I can move that one to my second camera, something for the Christmas list! All the best Ashley

@@alts1985 Ahh it does sound like a mains AC hum... I use a small Rode microphone - it was less then £50 and have never had any issues...
