I got this CD back in high school. My first Floyd CD and my first intro to most of their songs. I had heard money, Another brick pt. 2 Ect. on the radio. I think Pink Floyd was my first real introduction to prog rock. Now I own all their albums on CD.
This ad was what introduced me to Pink Floyd, the songs I heard on here were incredible, I hadn't heard anything like 'em, they had such a hauntin', beautiful sound to 'em, also the one thing that really revved me up about this ad was the part where you hear Gilmour's guitar part on "One of These Days" in the commercial and I was like, "Wow, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT", what really blew me away was at the end of the ad where you hear Gilmour's final guitar solo from "Comfortably Numb", geez that was a real barn burner of a solo and it still gets me today.
Me too! same for The Beatles 1 ad that aired about the same time as this. Plus many other music compilation ads that aired around this time. I really liked the Rockin’ Instrumentals one too.
Songs: 0:00 The Great Gig in the Sky 0:08 Money 0:21 Shine on you crazy Diamond 0:32 Wish you were here 0:52 One of these days 1:03 Another brick in the wall 1:08 Hey You 1:16 Comfortably numb 1:25 Us and them 1:34 Time 1:44 Comfortably numb again
I have this album on cassette cd and vinyl. I've been a fan of Pink Floyd since Meddle came out and I first heard One Of These Days and Echoes. Thanks to my mom for always playing Meddle and Dark Side Of The Moon when I was a kid.
This commercial give me feel like this pink floyd make soundtrack for some tv show or movie in positive way, good thing they make a lot documentation about their activities back then so every generations will know their history
I could have sworn, when I saw this back in the day the moment Roger hits the gong that is when the beam of light playing "One of These Days" comes on in the commercial. Faulty memory I guess?
Odd question - does anybody know who the narrator is? I have two odd obsessions: finding commercials that are in relation of things that I like and knowing who narrators are.
I remember this commercial from when I was a kid. I payed more attention to the visual than I did to the actual music, I wish I had payed more attention to the music because I wouldn't had dismissed them for as many years as I did. 😕
The late nights of watching Adult Swim as a kid and these kind of commercials come on.
Classic rock relaxes the soul.

I remember watching this Commercial back in March of 2005 with weeks leading up to wrestlemania 21 on wwe SmackDown on upn.
Probably the best compilation album from any group. I especially love how they have all the songs flow in and out of each other. Really well done!
This ad introduced me to Pink Floyd when I was 10, and the Beatles 1 ad that aired about the same time introduced me to them.

They never mentioned that some of the songs have been cut down, for example Marooned has like 3 and a half minutes taken out of it

Your comment prompted me to dial the number. It ranged a couple of times (I didn't think to count how many times) and I got hung up on. Strange.
