    Interested to see how this ship holds up once it reaches the game proper. I feel like while it's one hell of a projection of power it's not going to hold its own solo, it just offers too big of a target if it's not fully staffed and would probably do better as the spearhead of a flotilla. A well-organised opposition would overwhelm it pretty reliably if it lingers in any one place too long, and with such a big target it's gonna draw attention. I do see a lot of value in it as an escort role, or anything where it's either always moving or always near support. If you give it a few auxilliary vessels it'd probably be able to lay claim to a whole star system with a little organisation.

      This is such an amazing synopsis of this ship, and I agree completely! I think if the Javelin is under crewed, this ship will be largely ineffective, an avoidable inconvenience at best. As this ship’s signs light up across the system, staying constantly mobile will be a tremendously useful tactic! And I agree, this ship staying mobile will be absolutely key! But when fully crewed and on the move, I suspect this ship will be able to absolutely dominate territory! And thank you so much for sharing these awesome thoughts, and for your ongoing engagement with the channel, it’s really helpful and much appreciated!

    • @Tom--Ace
      @Tom--Ace Год назад

      Hammer and anvil tactics - this ship is the hammer, smaller ships the anvil. You draw the enemy in with smaller ships that keep the enemy busy, before your hidden javelin jumps in and torps the crap out of the enemy fleet.
      The javelin is probably best kept hidden and on the move until the decisive moment.
      For flying around like police, you're much better off using a Polaris or hammerhead or smaller ships that can run away far easier

    • @Dervraka
      @Dervraka Год назад

      Yeah I have a feeling the folks that went out and bought one (for $3,000!!) are going to be in for a huge disappointment if they think they're just going to be able to tool around solo in it and crush every bounty while sleep walking. CIG has pretty much said it's going to take a huge organizational effort and a small fortune just to keep the thing crewed and fueled and maintained. While you....might...be able to fly it from point A to point B solo, that is literally all you will be able to do (and even that hasn't been confirmed by CIG).

    Good breakdown and all is valid points. I think we have to be careful with what we expect from modularity. Modularity is the buzz word for many ships. Buy now, it is a modular ship, it can become anything. I don't think the modularity will extend that far, modularity will be limited to prevent other ships becoming irrelevant.

    • @ViciDeum
      @ViciDeum  2 года назад

      Eugene, I absolutely agree! I think it’s smart to see modularity like server messing but for ship sales! It can’t just be a one stop solution! I am hoping that they can at least deliver on the Endeavor and this ship, since it’s slated as built for a “variety of entrepreneurial uses.”
      Although brochures and ship sales are no guarantee! I just hope they make this ship viable outside of large wars, as it’s a very cool ship, that I fear be sidelined for the majority of the game, due to prohibitive operating costs (in consumption and crew)!

    I'm so confused. I saw videos of where people were saying that some people already own these ships, others say it's not out yet and others say that it never will come out to own for players. What is the truth? And if it is already out, why are there no videos of people flying that ship...

    • @ViciDeum
      @ViciDeum  2 года назад +4

      It is confusing, but I’ll happily shed some light on it!
      1) People have purchased this ship but it isn’t currently flyable, so they own it but are using other loaner ships instead, until it’s properly released to those that pledged for it.
      That said, this ship is flyable by NPC in game and you are actually able to take a really cool tour on it this week (during Invictus)!
      2) The people who say it’ll never release are deliberately overlooking the above and instead being hyperbolic/pessimistic about the state of the game overall.
      But I hope this helps 😁👍

      @ViciDeum  2 года назад

      Hey Darth Nox, I didn’t know this, but I appreciate the clarification! I know this ship wasn’t intended for atmospherics as they stated it can be difficult to control; thus the subsequent planetside crashes! @@ViciDeum No problem, always happy to share the info, also technically speaking, even during the Kraken's FAQ, they stated that it would be very difficult to maneuver the ship within the atomsphere, so pretty much anything idris sized and up would be slow and sluggish within atomsphere, and I would also imagine if one of your main thrusters gets damaged you would be in big trouble as you might not even be able to leave the atomsphere, but they still can fly in there its just not ideal.

    There's an awful lot of SOON (hopefully) TO BE ships, mods, content videos about Star Citizen. But little or nothing to tell me what is possible NOW. I currently play Elite Dangerous and I like the large ships. Mining, Trade, Faction building in BGS. A bit of bounty hunting as well. I like the look of the Javelin but I do have questions where any of the larger ships are concerned. They speak of a Crew of however many beyond just the pilot/owner. Is that a crew of other Players? Or is that a crew made up of NPC's who may or may not be effectively brain dead?

    • @ViciDeum
      @ViciDeum  2 года назад +1

      There is a lot of content regarding the future of this game, as that’s what tends to trend on RUclips’s algorithm; it’s simply what most people click on/watch. But in-game currently, there are dynamic events (like Jumptown, Xenothreat and 9 tails), bounty hunting missions, cargo trading, mining and some light exploration (points of interest sort of things).
      But if you want to checkout current gameplay footage, I’d encourage you to watch my Jumptown, Xenothreat, Music Videos or other guides I have on this channel if you’re interested in this kind of content!
      Regarding crew sizes, those positions can be filled by either AI or real players! Real players are expected to be better in those roles, but even current AI turret gunners do a decent job at hitting players. I suspect the higher-level roles like on-board firefighter and other more complicated engineering-type positions will be better suited to real players, but we’ll have to see as the AI develops!

    Jav is not the largest a player can own, it is the largest a player can buy, the Bengal is the largest a player can own and at 990 meters in length it would be the ultimate ship for an org.

      Good luck getting one... trying to take one from the UEEN... I'd pay good money to watch that fight! Rumours that there is at least one out there abandoned... again.. org effort... they stated you'd need multiple Hull E worth of repair materials to get it flying.. then defending it from other orgs while repairing it... maybe even the UEEN trying to retrieve it. So no.. a bengal would be an org ship.. not a player owned. Little timmy can't come in an aurora and own a bengal.
      Javelin is still the largest combat ship a player can own as anyone who has funds and a forgiving family can obtain one.

      @chrisajokinen 2 года назад +1

      @@orson_krennic831 You are 100% correct, but as we do not know exactly what they plan on doing with the Bengal as far as players obtaining...outside of what you mentioned. And ships like it WILL require a large org just to keep it as a Bengal is not meant to despawn after the owner logs, it will persist. I remember watching some videos of the massive EVE Online battles, when someone forgot to pay the orgs dock fees and their ships got booted from their safe harbor. I think the Bengal will have player generated combat like that, not as massive, but I can see large orgs fighting or stealing Bengals from each other. Should be epic.
      For the found wrecked Bengal, yeah it will take a lot, I assume, to get it working. That sound like a major undertaking and will have many game loops involved not to mention time. I also wonder if there will be salvage missions involving the Vanduul attacking a carrier group and killing most of the UEEN, but one barely together Bengal is still there, filled with wounded crew and lurking Vanduul for ground and flight combat...that would be an event!
