i just finished putting pe foam in my keyboard, probably gonna buy lube some blue tape and keycaps then upgrade it more. thanks for making this video because im 10 years old and was scared im gonna obliterate my keyboard and when i saw this i was like yeah i can probably do this and here i am after modding it once again tysm
thankyouuuuu!! im scared to open my own rk61 because it's not hotswappable ;-; but now i know i can mod without needing to solder and stuff so thankyou so much!! youre a blessing
thank you for making this vid, im buying a keyboard in a couple days but its a cheap one and i found out that its non hotswap. at least i know what i can do now w these!! thank you once again
thank you for showing how you modded a non hot swappable keyboard. I'm also getting my first mechanical keyboard, hopefully I can mod it as good as you did
Great upgrade video. I just upgraded a RK61 myself. I think it's one of the best ones to upgrade as a beginner because the price is low. I love the honey milk keycaps. XDA profile looks nice!
iam here because i just bought new switches for my rk61 thinking it is hot swappable... it turns out that i bought the old one which is the non hotswappable variant, hopefully iam not the only one
this video helped me so much thanks for helping me break my keyboard thank you so much i have no other keyboards and im left with nothing thanks so much
i also have done this kinda mod but one thing I have noticed with my keyboard is the on/off button for the kb is a bit deeper than it should be not sure it it’s just me
Your lube technique does affect the tactility of your brown switch? how was the feel? Kinda thought you accidently lubed the stem legs that reduce the tactility
Omg, thanks the help so much! I want to mod my non-hot swappable keyboard, and this helped me a lot! I have only 1 question: what is the difference between grease and lube for keyboard?
i'm glad i was able to help !! from what i know, grease is thicker than (oil) lube . It's usually used to lubricate keyboard stabilizers rather than the switches. Since there are different grease and oil lubricants with different thicknesses, i suggest researching for what suits your taste best.
Hi! How is it so far? I'm planning to mod my anne pro non-hotswap keeb as well although im wondering if it'll be prone to problems when modding a non-hotswap. Thanks!
Hi! I have a question ☺️. Im waiting for my orders to arrive and would definitely follow your video I find it super helpful. May I ask if did you used dielectric grease in lubing your switches?
I was scared to try to mod my non-hot swappable keyboard but im gonna try to based on this video i just have 1 question can i tape mod the keyboard too?
Could've been easy if it was a hotswappable, if you have a hotswappable you can just take it out and plug it in again. You have to desolder the thing to get it out and solder it back in
Ty t helped me allot I was only struggling finding my screws in my keyboard I did the lubing with Vaseline cause I don’t have anything else in home but it was a fun experience Ty for this
@@raykunn Nah it doesn't cause it only makes the plastic a bit smoother i also did it on my rubiks cube people are also saying the samething about the keyboard but it works perfectly fine cause people say it will break after 2 weeks but it still works
The old version of the RK61, which is the one I have, isn't hot-swappable so you can't take out the switches without desoldering. But, I heard the new version is hot-swappable so it is possible to the switches out of the board.
reminder that this is not a tutorial! i'm sorry to lack proper info about modding the keeb in the vid. regardless, i hope this still helps
How did you lube the stabs on non hotswap? Tutorial pls
Thanks for this video. I accidently bought non-hot swap rk61 and I didn't how to customise it. I did your built and now this keyboard sounds awesome!

that means so much! thank you !! 💛
Your videos are so neat and well done. I ought to take some notes.
Tysm I modded my first mechanical keyboard with this
How did you remove the wire (the one which connects the case wire to the PCB with white connector)
It wont let me edit for some reason but my question is how do I disconnect it like do I pull the wires or the white connector itself
8 months late but i think the white thing is the one you pull, not the wire😅@@muhammadhassan1596
this video helped me so much thanks for helping me break my keyboard thank you so much i have no other keyboards and im left with nothing thanks so much
“Me being a disgrace” 😆 nothing disgraceful. You’re making it cute 🙆🏻♀️
aaa thank you for being so kind! 🤍
you did great! the foam cutting was so precise too. what tape did you use? 💌
Use painters tape or masking tape
i also have done this kinda mod but one thing I have noticed with my keyboard is the on/off button for the kb is a bit deeper than it should be not sure it it’s just me

Thanks for the video! It would have been great if you muted the background music during the sound comparisons

I just want to ask, why did you put a foam in your keyboard?
It makes it sound better
hi, may I ask what tape you used for the tape mod?
thats exactly how i lubed mine too lmao. People say be careful but nothing bad happened so 🤷♀️
I have seen people lube switches in place before, but nothing could have prepared me for your technique. 🤣 Thanks for the video!
really nice video thank you
I did the foam mod but nothing sounds differnet using an dk63 not hotswappable keybord
Hi! How is it so far? I'm planning to mod my anne pro non-hotswap keeb as well although im wondering if it'll be prone to problems when modding a non-hotswap. Thanks!
hi.. does your non hot swappable rk61 came with a dongle?
Hi! I have a question ☺️. Im waiting for my orders to arrive and would definitely follow your video I find it super helpful.
May I ask if did you used dielectric grease in lubing your switches?
Hi, how do you know if the keycaps you're buying is going to fit the keyboard?
Nice update I recently got a budget keyboard today and thanks to you now i know what to do on it
(Well its a Really cheap Keyboard but uhh who cares)
How do you do a tape mod on a non hot swappable keyboard?
I was scared to try to mod my non-hot swappable keyboard but im gonna try to based on this video i just have 1 question can i tape mod the keyboard too?

Nice video 👍
What kind of lube do you recommend
Does any lube work?
Good video!
thanks!
why did you skip space at the end? i saw you wanted to click dont lie
Rk61 is the best keyboard it is not a disgrace to the community
i was previously referring to my modding skills about being a disgrace haha sorry about the confusion 😅 but indeed, the rk61 is surely a great board!
best for budget, fr but not the BEST keyboard of all keyboards
