    Thank you so much for making a wonderful editorial, with lots of praise for my city! This is great! I live right among these places that you have explored, near the Cathedral of the Duomo. I very much hope that you will return as Catanzaro still has a lot to show for itself, for example the Biodiversity park, in addition to the famous Morandi bridge. I had already had the opportunity to appreciate the ones you did on Montepaone and Soverato.

Looking for land and possibly a small apartment to start. I appreciate all your information. I was heade to Portugal but they pulled the 10 year tax scheme for new immigrants. So coming to Calabria for 38 days to explore. Been to the rest of Italy. Sounds like you have traveled A LOT...I am excited about my trip. Thanx again Cheers. everything in Italy is so tastefully done. I had been thinking of retiring to south america but why put up with the filth and crime there when I could just as easily afford to move to south italy. I even like that it's retained a bit more of its traditional vibe. I want to move to a place with a sense of rootedness. Thanks for sharing ... I had never even known of this town.

    • @CalabriaDreaming
      @CalabriaDreaming  2 года назад

      Yes South America is appealing I agree but to live in Italy and have la dolce vita is such a delight. Italians know how to enjoy life and here in Calabria it’s so affordable it’s definitely worth looking into. The beaches the food the people!! Also very low crime here as people look out for each other and the community is very tight knitted. I absolutely love living here and think everyone should consider it!!

    Ripeto: video stupendo e ti ringrazio per il tuo stupore e la tua gioia!! Riempie il cuore il tuo entusiasmo ad un catanzarese come me! Comunque, solo un piccolo appunto: il tuo ragazzo ha fatto due errori: dietro il Duomo non c'è "ancora" il Duomo, ma la chiesa del Rosario. E dove lui dice esserci il quartiere "Cocole" (o "Coculi", in dialetto catanzarese), in realtà è il quartiere "Grecìa", cioè il quartiere più antico di Catanzaro perchè lì prese il via l'assetto medievale (bizantino) della città, per poi ampliarsi. Ci vivevano le etnie di origine greca, da cui il nome. Catanzaro è stata sin dalla sua nascita (903 d.C.) una città multietnica, in cui convivevano pacificamente etnie diverse: greci, ebrei, arabi. Ma gli Spagnoli (saraceni) proprio non li abbiamo tollerati!! (Roberto il Guiscardo) AHAHAHAH!!! Thank you very much for your BEAUTIFUL video!!!!!!!!! Love it

    Catanzaro was part of the Eastern Roman Empire, not the Byzantine Empire because the Byzantine empire never existed. You will find that in 1557 Hieronymus Wolf a german writer, replaced the name of the Eastern Roman Empire by the “Byzantine” empire. He made it up. You can research this. He was only focused on “Greek” history and gave it that name. The people of the Eastern Roman Empire would be shocked to find out that today we are calling them Byzantine.
