Fantastic Video and very encouraging. I have some beautiful pleated pants that I love and are expensive. I will definitely try to have one done and see the outcome. I am based in Austin, Texas and it may be a longshot question, but would you know of anyone who can do this. (Hoping YOU live in Austin :-))

Did the customer know that you are redesigning the pant with a pintuck pleat down the crease line? Proper way to remove the pleats is a big job. You need to take the excess out the CF or side seam and either redo the fly or onseam pockets. Your method will alter the drape and make it stiff and bulky on the creaseline with the added merror and edgestitch. Difference between a $20 job and $80.

Hi Peter, Yes the customer knew exactly what I was doing. I agree that the fabric does because thicker at that point. But my client was happy with the result. I work on $40 per hour Peter. So it is not a $20 versus $80 difference in my world. From memory I charged $40 to do this job. To do what you are suggesting, which is to unpick and re cut the front would take a very long time. And I do not think the trousers are worth it. Well that is based on my hourly rate of course. Someone who is prepared to do that for $80 I would take my hat off to. I could not unpick, re cut the front and put it all back together in two hours. So anyone that wants to do that for $80, good luck to them. Thank you for the comment though. Appreciate all the feedback.
