Just my two cents worth from a “woman of a certain age.” I have always liked the look of pleated pants on men. They somehow look more classy, more stylish, and men seem to be more comfortable wearing them. The newer, flat front style always look uncomfortable to me and bring down the quality look of a suit. Pleated pants in a suit always look good. Flat front, not so much.

Pleats are absolutely great once you wear them "correctly". Un my country, 85% of men wear them incorrectly. So I've never considered pleats as fashionable. But when I started watching videos like this, I start to understand that pleated pants have their own purposes and you have to wear them properly. On the othr hand, flat front pants are easier to be worn properly.

I do wear pleated pants every day, even at work. Actually, these are custom-made chinos from Lands'End that I got made this way. They are also high raised and hemmed. Plenty of room for my large hips because of the extra fabric. Many advantages also: I can wear them at any season. These days, it is "funny" to see my colleagues with skinny fit trousers and jeans shivering in the cold and myself just being alright because the extra fabric protects my legs from the cold. The same ones telling me: "You look like grandpa!" At least, Grandpa is not cold...

Pleats are simply a functional item. For a man with a larger seat and thighs, what's a better option - pleats on an otherwise sleek and stylish pair of pants, or buying 1-2 waist sizes larger than necessary just to get enough leg room? I've been buying 1-2 waist sizes larger and having the waist taken in, just to get the leg room I need. Pleats seem like a much simpler solution.

With pleated pants, do you crease down the front or leave without a crease. I just got a Armani Exchange high wasted pleated pants off eBay and the only issue is the wool blend fabric bc it’s a loose knit and piles up east like a sweater. So I’m sure it’s just in this case, but it seems harder to find 100% wool, unless you’re buying higher end bc many company go for tye cheaper fabrics to keep the cost and price down But back in the days, most pants came in 100% wool, even the non designer brands.
So nowadays with fast fashions, you get the look, but this generation miss out on quality and lasting clothing. I hope that changes for this generation bc I hate wearing 1 to 3 times and the fabric is piling up and looks cheap bc now almost everything is blended with polyester. Or if they give you mostly wool, it’s really thin. So for me looking sharp is not an issue and been dressing up since the early 80’s, but it’s the quality of the clothing . In the past, you bought designer to have unique designs to stand apart from everyone. But now since men’s forward fashions have been going on since the early 80’s, it’s seems to have gone back to the classics and quality. Meaning you can have a suit jacket that could range from $75. to $600. and both look stylish, but the $75. suit jacket may last you a few years and maybe 6 cleanings before it starts looking worn.
So I see these younger 25 to 35 year olds dressed up in Zara and H&M clothes. But I also see how the fit is off and the clothing not being well made. I mean i buy Zara and H&M also, but if it’s cheaply made and don’t fit correctly, I don’t buy it. Meaning I don’t have the money to buy all high end, but I’m pretty selective with mower end brands.
I mean I could spend $25. to $35. at a thrift store and come out looking like I bought everything from Neiman Marcus.

Hello. My name is Charalampos Daniilidis and i am from greece. Thank you for this video, and the content of this channel. I have recently ordered a bespoke suit from a greek tailor. I always had a problem with jeans and pants because i have very muscular yet slim legs and i always tent to tear the fabric between the legs of my pants. I even change the way i walk too because pants always seem stiff to me plus constricting the way i walk and move. After my tailor's advise i took the decision to add a pleat on my suit pants. I recently went to try them and it was the most comfortable pair of pants i have ever whore. My suit pants in my opinion ,are also very stylish. The pleat adds to their style. One thing Pleated pants are, is the solution people came up to solve my type of problems. I have already visit my tailor 3 times for abjustments with the suit and i am waiting for it to get done. You guys and this channel led me do a decision to order my first suit, which is a dark charcoal 2 button suit. Before that i went with a pair of bespoke oxford shoes too an i will never regret it. I’m very thin, so I prefer higher waisted single pleated or flat fronted trousers

I find pleated pants to be more confortable and form fitting, the look is great, a great pair of pleated pants just gives me a power look.

School had a non uniform day today since it's the last day of term. I thought I was dressing fairly casually in jeans a shirt and jumper but good Christ, the amount of tracksuits there made it hell.

Personally, I want creased dress pants. With or without pleats. It looks more formal to me. Btw, nice to have Preston again

A light weight, single pleated pant with that continuous pant line without cuff is the pant I have found to be the most comfortable for those long days in the office.

He said you can totally wear them and pull them off.... Thankfully I can do that with my current pants

I've always admired the pleated pants but never had the courage to try them. Thanks to this guide, I will get them custom made ASAP. Also, will the pleated pants and suspenders be a good combo? Preston is doing a good job and the glasses surely enhance his overall look!
