I still like my theory that Roxy replaced Foxy and knows that she replaced a popular character. So that contributes to her characterization as an insecure wreck. Just a head canon but it gives me something to think about while at work
This is kind of supported by them working together in the book more than anything. I think it's likely that the log ride was never even meant for a Foxy addition or a complete rebrand of Foxy. He still has his hook and eyepatch, so knowing Foxy, I don't think it's completely unlikely that he just had a pirate-cowboy adventure at some point. It seems like the perfect way to introduce Roxy as a character from the west (Wait, is this why Glamrock Chica was supposed to sound like a California Girl we're undeniable?) and then let her stand out on her own. I thought maybe Captain Foxy's Pirate Adventure was a movie and Foxy was popular enough to get his own establishment. Chica had her own location before, likely with the Posh Pizzeria series. Regardless, with the reintroduction of the bullies, seemingly for Carnival, I doubt Foxy is going anywhere just like Chica came back after SL and Bonnie came back after 3. I guess SB was just Foxy's turn and Freddy will never not show up because he's in the title.
God it’s so weird to me to think of the animatronics as actual characters, not because of a spirit possessing them that we then just call by the mascot name for shorthand, but because they’re apparently intelligent enough to be their own beings with their own thoughts and desires. It honestly feels like the wrong direction to take the series in. IMO the robots should just be robots, and they only act like characters because of spirit possession. The ai stuff is just dumb.
I had this same thought. Her insecurity would make so much more sense and be that much more tragic. Roxy knows she replaced a popular character as the cooler alternative. Now she has to have the persona at all times. If she doesn't, she may be replaced just like she replaced Foxy.
i think its funny how the foxy craze went down so far despite him genuinely being the most unique in FNaF 1, best design and usually has the best/coolest mechanic
I really like RyeToast’s theory that while Foxy was never at the Pizzaplex there were plans to bring Foxy in, but those plans ended up not happening because they were unable to finish the log ride.
Could just be the nostalgia talking, but I didn’t like how after SL, random things that were important to the OG four animatronics were either changed or removed, whether that be some of them not getting dialogue in UCN or Foxy and Bonnie having hardly much of a presence in SB.
To be fair Bonnie’s been pretty beloved and important for a while. With Springbonnie/springtrap being focal to the lord. Freddy always appears as well. And foxy has been in every game. Chica was the oddball since she was out of sister location. So now it’s Bonnie and foxys turn. I’m sure a new variant of them is gonna appear
I always imagined that foxy still had a significant part in the Fazbear brand as of security breach but just wasn’t an animatronic in the Pizza plex, like how Chica was missing in sister location or how the puppet went unused in most known locations but still was referenced by Fazbear entertainment
Yeah she exists she showed up in Fnaf 6 but she still wasn’t one of the animitronics present in the circus baby brand, I personally also imagine that she had her own location at the time. Also theirs the teasers before sister location that mentioned Chica’s party world, just like how theirs foxy themed track rides they weren’t non existent just not part of the main band
@@azimuddin1890 I think that was just the name for a CBEaR rental listing for Funtime Chica (and possibly others like Music Man if he is a Funtime) to explain their absence and later appearance in FFPS. Something as major as a whole sister location to the Sister Location never being mentioned once outside of a minigame from a previous title that certainly has nothing to do with it and a website source code string of text that only ever mentions it once, of which same source code was used for rental listings seems like a lot to keep hidden for no reason.
According to the Ruin collectables, the Log Ride attraction never got finished building. The only reason i think Cassie rode the log ride was cause her dad was a technician, so itd make sense fazbear would use employees kids as test subjects for rides that are still in beta. Im guessing that the cowboy branding didnt go over well from test groups and they dropped it before they got it off the ground and replaced it with the cooler Roxy.
that and the fact the entire ride was built like shit, and the only way to fix it was to tear the whole thing down. better to build over it i guess! cant forget the decapitating foundational beam
I always thought it was something similar to what happened with the pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disney world, where before it's modern incarnation as the pirate ride we all know and love, it was cowboy themed, cause Disney thought pirates wouldn't sell well in Florida's already pirate saturated market. needless to say they were wrong and tons of people were upset at the lack of pirates in Disney world.
Headcanon: Foxy sailed off into the the distance/rode off into the sunset after hearing about the whole Bonnie incident and took as much evidence of him being there as he could with him.
Because of the lack of Foxy and rather obvious replacement-but-not-quite in Roxy, I've had this headcannon for a while that Roxy's insecurities come not just from Fazbear's neglicence with AI, but also from the idea that she might know she's supposed to be a replacement. Maybe she's not entirely sure who she's replaced because of the lack of advertisement, but it gives her some more depth. I can imagine her being nice in front of the crowd, trying to put on the best show and hyping herself up to the detriment of others until she's forced into Safe Mode because there's a tiny voice in the back of her mind whispering that if she doesn't - that if the public doesn't like her enough - she might end up as a small side attraction in the daycare or have her raceway completely torn apart. Maybe that's also why she's so protective of it haha. There's not really a lot of evidence towards this (well, maybe Bonnie being replaced so easily could tip her off, but that could easily not be relevant either), but if it was Bonnie, Freddy, Chica, and Roxy as the main 4 when the Pizzaplex was opened, she could have potentially figured it out. There is a mini museum exhibit about the franchise right in front of the band's greenrooms, so she would have access to the knowledge that the original were Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. So definitely not impossible, but it's all just speculation. It also puts Monty and Roxy in a unique position: they're the only ones aware that they're replacements. Monty is obvious, as he literally replaced Bonnie, but Roxy is also a replacement of Foxy even if there's no Glamrock version of him. Maybe she's even seen the broken logride. We know Chica goes down into the trash, Roxy might have wandered there or fallen in or something. This replacement idea could also explain why Freddy isn't really liked. Chica seems concerned in the intro and DJMM seems to be on good terms with him, but the other animatronics seem indifferent or outright hostile. Monty's hostilities are obvious, but Roxy is more indifferent, with the only notable interaction between them being when he enters her room after repairs. But think of it this way: Freddy has been in every game possible, sometimes with multiple incarnations within the same game, and Chica has theoretically been through every animatronic generation except Springlock (Funtime Chicha exists, just not in SL), so they don't have to think of how they could easily be replaced for another character (even though they should if Mr. Glamrock Hippo is anything to go by), but Monty quite literally all but erased Glamrock Bonnie from existance and Roxy is a pretty obvious Foxy stand-in. It plays nicely with her attitude of having to be the best too, since she's well aware that if she isn't, she might be thrown to the side and burried. I don't know, I just thought it gave some nice character to Monty and Roxy, and maybe offering some insight on why they (mostly Monty) hate Freddy, since, as the mascot, he's unlikely to ever be replaced by a new character (except when he quite literally is, but we'll ignore that). Again, more of a headcannon than anything else, there's very little hard evidence for this, but it doesn't detract anything from the characters imo.
I like how Foxy and Roxy exist as two seperate characters in universe. Its cool to have variant characters that stand out on there own from there inspiration. Though i think its funny that both were designed with specific themes in mind, retro 80s and old time pirate
It's funny to think Foxy has technically NEVER been "erased" by his replacements. The Foxy line is so unique that any attempt to replace him ended up with creating a whole new character. Mangle was originally Toy Foxy (or Funtime according to FNAF World but that was probably the same idea that ended up in the Fourth Closet and is not canon to base games) but in game, she isn't just a variation... He is her own character and got variation on his own. There isn't any "Phantom Toy Bonnie" or "Nightmare Funtime Chica" BUT there is a "Phantom Mangle" and there is a "Nightmare Mangle". All existing ALONGSIDE Phantom Foxy and Nightmare Foxy. In Freddy's in Space 3 (a troll game made by Scott himself), the party consists of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy... And Mangle as her own separate being. Heck, even Funtime Foxy (whotechnically isn't a replacement as he wasn't meant to be at a "Freddy's") is visually more of a Mangle variation than a Foxy one. While the others were either... HIM (like Phantom Foxy that is litterally Withered Foxy) or not meant to be replacements at all (Nightmare Foxy was an illusion/a bot not meant for public and Rockstar Foxy was just a decoy made by Henry to trick William, Elizabeth and the Funtimes). And now we have Roxy that isn't even ADVERTISED as a Foxy. So yeah, Foxy really is the only one that CANNOT be replaced. Spiritual heirs are alright, but there is only ONE Foxy, technically.
I like to imagine foxy is like the old retired Grandpa telling stories in the kids Cove about his glory days and then meanwhile his great-granddaughter Roxanne took his place on the stage to entertain a new generation

While the whole thing with rebranding Foxy as a cowboy that confused audiences and never cameback after that makes sence, I always had a theory that Glamrock Foxy was more like an actor, obviously because of the roles of a captain pirate and a cowboy, but also, since SB had a theater place, which it had a poster of Foxy next to it, it might have make sence on that

I'd like to suggest that since there's zero Foxy animatronics in the Pizzaplex it's extremely possible that Fazbear Entertainment was in the middle of replacing the outdated Foxy animatronic seen/referenced in the various decor and the log ride with an updated Foxy using the modern Glamrock animatronic's endos and casings which takes time to program and the software correctly as well as design, prototype, fit, test, and the shell for him.
(14:36) Off-topic, but this art and the other images of Captain Foxy really makes me wish Foxy sported this outfit in F.N.A.F.1 and variations of Foxy would also have this outfit too. From what I can tell with there having been no mention of a Glamrock Foxy it shows how Fazbear Entertainment must've tried to experiment with seeing how popular his log ride would've been with an older audience to get a modern look like the other Glamrocks. Since the log ride failed they could've just decided to scrap the concept as a whole with Foxy getting a glamrock design and then realized they needed make a new character like Roxanne to fit with an older audience for the theme that Pizzaplex was going for with Go-Karts being a more popular choice in a party place than a slow log ride. 9:09 When you mentioned the theory that Roxy might have been Foxy, I was reminded of a comic I saw a long time ago where Foxy was transgender, and then went through the robot equivalent of a sex change to become Roxy.
I agree that Roxy isn't Foxy, however, I feel that part of her inferiority complex is actually rooted in the fact that she knows she's replacing Foxy and she has to live up to that imposing legacy. Part of what seems to go along with this is after Gregory wrecks the kart into her and takes her eyes, she starts chasing him through what appears to be some sort of furnace room. Said room has a ton of Foxy merch ready to be burned up. Also another reason they likely would have made Roxy is that otherwise Chica was hard-carrying all the aspiring little girls. As it stands, Chica is supposed to be the cook/waitress character, but she's also the exercise gal. That is already too many things pushed onto one gal, so having another female cast member helps lighten the load in that aspect, and on that not, Roxy has clearly achieved that goal since gals and guys alike really like her. I mean ,the number of people who fell for her when they heard her talking to herself in the mirror is notable.
Fun fact : there is a Funtime Foxy plushie hidden in Roxy's Room. So yeah, she's probably aware she's the last one of the brand. Or that's just a meta commentary on her own personality since after SL, Scott joked about Funtime Foxy not having voice-lines by saying "You don't understand, Funtime Foxy is more of an introvert, you know?". And with how he is pridefully-over-the-top in UCN, the idea of the introvert acting as the vain loud one represents Roxy pretty well.

I used the term "introvert" because that's how Scott referred to Funtime Foxy back in the day (but let's be honest, it was more of a joke and I fully believe he didn't think of a personality for the bot, at the time). In the end, it's very difficult to speak about Funtime Foxy's real personality since his whole role in the Funtime Gang is to be the one who mimics voices and maneurism to distract and/or lure. So, is he REALLY an introvert and is only ACTING like an extrovert ? Or is it the other way around ? We don't know. Roxy on the other hand is way more easy to understand. She isn't about Pride but about Vain Glory. A Prideful person love themself no matter the reality of their character. While a person with Vain Glory needs other to tell them they are incredible because their own self-esteem is actually quite low. I think her character can work no matter if you think of her as an introvert, extrovert or ambivert. It's up to you if you want to see her "rockstar persona" as a disguise to hide her own self-hate (introvert), or as an way to fit in society because she revels in social interactions (extrovert) or a mix of the two (ambivert). But what I find really interesting is that her personality can echo the other two "black sheeps" of the Foxy line, aka Funtime Foxy and Mangle. I already talked in which way she looks like Funtime Foxy, but it's funny to see how much similarity she has with Mangle too. Not only is she her own character (just like Mangle as her own Nightmare and Phantom variations, NEXT TO Foxy's. In Freddy in Space 3, Mangle is even a playable character, next to the OGs), but in FNAF AR, Mangle was presented as somewhat deluded. Always talking about how "pretty" she looks and how everyone is "jealous" of said beauty. However, other lines suggest Mangle is actually aware of her ugliness and is just pretending to cope. She seems really desperate asking why she was "made only to fall apart like this". Also, you can hear Mangle sometimes uses a slighty lower voice, mainly to scare you, but sometimes to respond to what her "lighter voice" just said. And that's maybe me become crazy but I swear, I hear Roxy darkening her voice when she encourages herself (maybe to distanciate herself from the compliment, to make it feel more "authentic", I don't know.)
That reminds me that over the years foxy has always been the animatronic to give me the LEAST trouble. Rarely ever was killed by him. But when my friends play they get jumped by him. Led to the inside joke that me and foxy are actually best buds.
For the ending stuff about the books. Chica being yellow is because that was early in the pizzaplex. She is shown to have a cupcake too. In fact, she is likely the Chica who was in the sewer in the other story. Abe explicitly calls her 'a' Glamrock Chica, implying she's not the original. And he finds her alongside a bunch of other animatronics that got dumped here, its not Gregory's doing. "Whereas the storage level was kept clean and was brightly lit, this floor was little more than an indoor landfill. And it was infested with wandering, wasted animatronics. Abe sucked in his breath when his flashlight’s beam landed on one such animatronic. The pitiful remains of a Glamrock Chica resting against the sewer’s outer wall blinked at Abe and raised a handless arm. The lower part of Chica’s face was a gaping maw." It makes it clear these are all old animatronics who were left to rot here, and calling her 'a' Glamrock Chica makes it clear its not the one currently being used. The 'Moondrop' is just a hallucination of Moon, not the actual animatronic IIRC. Also, the Mimic does not dress in a tiger costume. Tiger Rock existed as a robot head in the storyteller, and also as a form it takes in the virtual world. It wears a bunch of different costumes, including a lion one, it never wears a tiger costume.
My theory is that Fazbear Entertainment didn't have a Glamrock redesign for Foxy, in an attempt to keep him as nostalgia-bait... but then of course Corporate wanted a Foxy-esque character in the band, without making confusing branding. Thus, they made Roxy for the band, and then had Foxy separate... and then didn't lean into the nostalgia-bait because "That's too niche!", so they changed the approach to try to please everyone, it failed, and then they muddled the branding with the Captain/Cowboy stuff, angering the nostalgia crowd, leaving only the kids who still liked Foxy. Wildly speculative theory: Steel Wool is saving Glamrock Foxy as a draw for a future FNaF game. Even Wilder Crazy theory: Glamrock Foxy killed Glamrock Bonnie, and is also the Mimic somehow!
I choose to go with the Undeniably Canon Timeline’s explanation, where Foxy was just a gimmick character for Fredbear & Friends to drive up ratings that Afton despised, and every other version of him without the pirate gimmick was an attempt at rebranding.
To me foxy was probably still in an much older model then the other animatronics. I'm only thinking this because his posters look much more like his oldee version.
It's also mentioned that Glamrock Chica still has her cupcake in the books. I remember it from "The Storyteller" because she _literally becomes so needy for attention she loses her gluttony._
Honest opinion: im glad that in modern fnaf cast is using different animals instead of the "original 4" because it allows for verity, imo. Now we just a replacment of sorts for chica.
I think you're spot on with this. A decline in popularity, a hasty re-theme attempted, ultimately replaced by cooler radder Roxy- who is the Fazbear version of Sonic and Shadow the hedgehog. "What if there was a second one of this character who is the same except this one is a different color and more edgy/modern." Also I love when people take apart the books. People don't dunk on the books often enough. They're awful from a writing, entertainment, and lore standpoint all at once and I think it's weird that the fandom doesn't care about how absolutely garbage they are. They're like a 15 year olds rejected scary story, padded out to fill a page count and with 1 random element replaced with faz-something. They're both too slow to excite adult fans and too violent to really be appropriate for children. They are no one and the brand should consider them a disgrace. (Like come on, I could have come up with a better Moon themed scary story in literally two minutes.)
I'd argue that "Toy Foxy" and Funtime Foxy are evidence they'd eventually gender-swap and pallet-swap foxy so there would be two "girls" and two "boys" in the group for marketing purposes. I think Toy Foxy was the "fail", as it did become the mangle from children not respecting it / not liking it. I then think Funtime Foxy was drifting away from the total swap; but also I suspect that William Afton specifically created the Toy Foxy look, because then the Funtimes are all clearly based off of Mangle's look (and the funtime band mirrors the glamrock ratio of two "girls" and two "boys"). I wonder if Mangle's fate also sort of echos a theme the community has long suspected; that Henry's ideas seemed to be more successful and Afton's ideas weren't as popular; the Toy Series were released together, but the children did not treat Toy Fox like the other three and kept dismantling it. This could be taken a few different ways, but I think it shows the target audience wasn't "convinced" or "won over" by the re-design, while accepting the new designs of the other characters. And then, years later, I think Roxy was successful because she has a more distinct design apart from Foxy; she is not a pallet swap and so I think the target audience was more accepting; her design does not remind them of a previous character much in the same way Monty does not remind them of Bonnie (they notice Bonnie is missing, but don't recognize Monty as a replacement/re-design of that character-type). To the adult eye we see the points of comparison, but these mascots are designed for children and so it would make meta-sense that we, the player, could see connections and "clues", but that in-universe children would not.
I seriously want a Fnaf fan game where we are in a Foxy themed location and there are glamrock version of all of the Foxy variants with different names....
I don't think there ever was a Glamrock Foxy. Since Help Wanted 2 shows Captain Foxy I do think that the human employees at the Mega PizzaPlex were halfway through construction of the log flume ride, therefore not even close to being able to brainstorm Glamrock design ideas for Foxy, right before Vanessa was hired... Right before they were most likely killed. Let's be honest, what Cassie finds doesn't look at all like they were taking it apart to build more of Roxy Raceway but moreso being under construction
I have a headcanon that with every location Freddy has different band mates. For example in one location there’s Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica, but instead of Foxy there’s Monty, in another one perhaps Roxy is in Chica or even Bonnie’s place, and maybe there’s even a few locations where Freddy is paired up with some animatronics we’ve never even seen or heard about before. The Pizzaplex that we’re familiar with is just one of those locations that uses Roxy instead of Foxy, and maybe there is a Pizzaplex that does use Foxy, but Monty, Roxy, Bonnie, or Chica are just not apart of that location. Maybe the reason for Kid’s Cove and the canceled log ride is because Foxy was one of Freddy’s more popular friends, or perhaps he was planned to be at the Pizzaplex but Fazbear entertainment thought that 7 animatronics was more than enough money spent, especially since the log ride went nowhere so they just put a statue of Foxy in Kid’s Cove and called it a day.
The Pizzaplex seems large enough for there to be only one, but yeah, I'd see smaller restaurants only having one or two animatronics or mixing characters being a thing
Honestly I personally think Glamrock Foxy did exist at one point, just far enough in the past to where most of his presence was removed by Fazbear entertainment. Bonnie was only retired because of him being destroyed, so it's likely re branding Monty as the base player took up most of the companies time and as a result, left a lot of references to his existence. Foxy on the other hand seems to be a purposeful incident on Fazbears part, likely as a way to bring the company into a modern setting, and from what we can see, it seems like it's been long enough to where Fazbear entertainment has scrubbed most of his presence from the Pizzaplex, replacing it with Roxy. This could also explain why Roxy is so insecure. Sure, Foxy was the odd one out in the group, but he was still MASSIVELY popular, so the weight on her shoulders trying to live up to her predecessor who's been in the franchise since it's creation 50 years ago would take a mental toll on anyone.
Honestly knowing how the Glamrocks are created it wouldn’t surprise me if Fazbear Entertainment simply took Foxy’s endo replaced his voice changed his personality and then slapped him into the Roxy shell and called it a day

I think the most frustrating thing about the Glamrock Chica being yellow in that story, is that in the same story, about a paragraph or so later, THEY DESCRIBE HER AS WHITE! Me and my friends were raging about that for like weeks

I think Steel Wool bringing in new characters is great. As much as I was sad to see foxy and bonny missing, I appreciate the introduction of new characters after however many games of the same ones just in different iterations. What I dont like is how quickly these new ones have already been retired. Monty is surely too far gone to be brought back and Roxy was defeated by the mimic. Two new characters that replaced some classics are now just gone and what are we even left with? Foxy was always my fave but glamrock bonny is basically tied now, which I think is quite ironic.
I mean, we did get a Mr. Hippo fridge magnet, plus a Glamrock Mr. Hippo and the Mystic Hippo. Who's to say Orville is out of place in a book appearance?
Idk how popular Foxy is in universe but since he was one of if not the most popular character irl, i like to asuming he had similar popularity in the lore and Fazbear entertainment knew there was no hope in hell they could make him vanish. Like they were confident people would stop asking about Bonnie if they gave Montie the bass and a backstory. But they knew Foxy was to popular for them to just decomition so just gave him his old pirate coat and added some costal theming to the daycare.
1 - I love Roxy Is Foxy in part because it gives me the image of Foxy going to a tech and saying "Hey, I think I'm a lass. Can ye help me with that?" And the tech going "DANG RIGHT I CAN HELP YOU WITH THAT" cause they themselves transitioned or their kid is GNC or socially transitioning so they don't even ask permission they just call someone they know who knows the character designer and find out how much to commission a concept of a feminine Foxy with some modern need for speed. 2 - Imagine Freddy Not Understanding Like The Himbo He Is for like... a *month* until Chica is like "No, no, sweetie... Foxy isn't missing. She's right there, and she goes by Roxy now. Get it?" And as it Dawns on him he starts freaking out and runs to apologize only for Chica to catch him again and stop him from making a scene 3 - ALTERNATIVE THEORY! Foxy, as an old-school fan favorite, is 'on hiatus' from the stage Cause He's Been Appearing In Movies. Like... that Pirates of the Caribbean poster mighta started as a stage show in the daycare, but I've heard of movies being based on sillier things than a play written for a major children's entertainment company [ Disney ]. Obviously he can't be doing movies AND rocking out at the Pizzaplex every night! Which is why you GOTTA go see the movie, where the Foxy animatronic is used to drive theater audiences by only showing up as part of the opening night hype and participating theaters. 4 - ALTERNATIVE THEORY 2! Foxy, because he's extremely popular, only appears as part of Fall Fest to drive attendance.
The thing with yellow Chica is that she was seemingly an older version, as that Shattered Chica in the sewers is yellow, implying that Fazbear Entertainment through her out and replaced her with the white version. But overall, I like the video a lot! It's easy to just say "no, there was or wasn't a Glamrock Foxy" and just leave it at that, but I'm happy to see speculation on it instead.

I mean, it makes sense since Mangle (a Foxy variation) was already meant to take care of kids (before becoming a take-apart-and-put-back-together toy, that is) and even the name "Kid's Cove" originates from Mangle's location. So the Foxy line was established as the one taking care of kids, just like the Freddy line is the singer one.

A personal headcanon of mine is that there WAS a glamrock foxy being made, but he was scrapped mid-production and they just overwrote his personality chip and reused it for Roxy, BUT some of him is still in there and he is that second voice that speaks to Roxy when she's hyping herself up ("your hair is beautiful, your face is beautiful, everyone adores you, everyone wants to be you. I'd like to put forward the idea that Roxy was Foxy in the prototyping stage. However, during the development of the Pizzaplex, they thought, "this needs some more spice," and redesigned him into a new character. I don't have any actual physical evidence, so this is just a headcanon, but it would also make sense of why they look so similar. She literally WAS him at first.
This might have been completely unintentional, but I feel like Monty might actually be a better parallel to Foxy than Roxy, despite being two completely different species. When you point a Fazer Blaster or flash the Faz Cam at Monty when he’s decommissioned, he screams in pain and in FNAF 2 Foxy used to be driven away by pointing a flashlight at him. Foxy also spends a lot of time on pirate’s cove similar to how Monty is implied to spend time in Gator Golf, according to duffel bags, and almost occasionally attend performances, like how Foxy occasionally leaves Pirate’s Cove. They’re also both somewhat aquatic-based as Foxy Is a pirate, and Monty is an Alligator. Both also only have pants as clothes in their basic versions and have some type of eyewear. Both also seem to be pretty popular in-universe. Foxy was replaced, and Monty is a replacement. Foxy was also theorized as the “good guy” in the group similar to how Monty is theorized as the “bad guy”. Monty also looses his legs, similar to how Foxy looses his legs at times in UCN. Both also have rides devoted to them. I also think they both also have an “outcast” vibe in the group, like something is different about them in particular that makes them out of place. Both also seem to have a particularly male demographic in-universe, so maybe Monty was made for the fans that were disappointed there was no Glamrock Foxy like, “Yeah, the Foxy fans will love this guy.” Maybe he’s where the Foxy fans went in-universe, which is why he got so popular. I could have made this all up though, idk. (Sorry if this was too lengthy.)
My theory has always been that Foxy was too hard to keep fixing and they might’ve just wanted to keep him off to the side to avoid the trouble. I find it odd that there’s basically nothing on him like glam rock Bonnie has so that just helps feed my delusions! I feel like it’d be pretty cool to see his glam rock version make an appearance, along with his boat ride!!
Foxy has been one of my favourite animatronics for a while (foxes are one of my favourite animals) so I hope he does make a return sooner rather than later! But that’s just me haha.

I feel like to keep Foxy in theme with what Fazbear's had become while still having him in his pirate theme he's famous for is to have him be like a galactic pirate or something (think like what Jonathan Young did with his music videos for "Glory or Gold" and "Man the Cannons" for an idea of what I mean), keeping him in his pirate themed roots while still fitting in with the new high-tech and "hip with the kids" branding

Personally, I think Foxy's personality has been tainted with Michael's grief. It is so deep-rooted that the character cannot be put in one of the self-machine learning endos and despite many attempts, they couldn't put Foxy into one of them. So they made the best next thing could do: Just like Sun and Moon, the put two personalities into one body, Baby and Michael then flipped the switch and got Roxy (just like Cassie did with Eclipse) I've been thinking for a while that the personalities of the animatronics are not random, they're made from the data they've gathered from FNAF 1 to Pizzeria simulator. Which is why Vanessa only threatened G.Freddy back in SB instead of just shutting it down, she knows getting a replacement is no easy task, the nature of the animatronics makes them unpredictable, even if you make a copy of them, wipe their memories, replicate the same learning pattern to teach the endos, it won't guarantee the endos will become docile to their bidding.
I hate the log ride in help wanted 2. Not the actual game but foxy just sounds depressed like he's only doing voices for the ride so he can at least go home with food.
Another possibility is that Foxy was gonna get an official debut at the Megaplex, as a part of a phase 2/expansion that never happened because the entire Megaplex got ruined. Something similar was suggested by RUclipsr RyeToast.
It is my head canon that in SB when he didn't make the cut in the Pizzaplex, Fazbear Entertainment made a him a spin off bar somewhere. It has lots of rum and moonshine.

I do miss the original four. with the popularity of the new characters, I wonder how they'll continue the core cast after the Security Breach arc is over.
I think it might be possible that Foxy's role (if he was supposed to have one) in the Pizzaplex is that he might have been supposed to be an actor, similar to the Staffbots that act and play roles in the theater, shown in the HW2 staffbot makeup minigame. With the hints of him originally being meant for the daycare, it would make sense that he also was supposed to preform in the Fazbear Theater in the daycare. Maybe Cowboy Foxy was one of his roles he played, along side pirate Foxy and potentially other genres. It would make sense with there being posters and cutouts for a "Pirate Foxy's Adventure" movie/performance all over the Pizzaplex. That could be one of his roles he plays in the theater.
There's something really funny about the rough and tough pirate that's probably made reference to killing people off screen in his movies being considered more kid friendly than the thing meant to take care of children.

I still like my theory that Roxy replaced Foxy and knows that she replaced a popular character. So that contributes to her characterization as an insecure wreck. Just a head canon but it gives me something to think about while at work
This is kind of supported by them working together in the book more than anything. I think it's likely that the log ride was never even meant for a Foxy addition or a complete rebrand of Foxy. He still has his hook and eyepatch, so knowing Foxy, I don't think it's completely unlikely that he just had a pirate-cowboy adventure at some point. It seems like the perfect way to introduce Roxy as a character from the west (Wait, is this why Glamrock Chica was supposed to sound like a California Girl we're undeniable?) and then let her stand out on her own. I thought maybe Captain Foxy's Pirate Adventure was a movie and Foxy was popular enough to get his own establishment. Chica had her own location before, likely with the Posh Pizzeria series. Regardless, with the reintroduction of the bullies, seemingly for Carnival, I doubt Foxy is going anywhere just like Chica came back after SL and Bonnie came back after 3. I guess SB was just Foxy's turn and Freddy will never not show up because he's in the title.
God it’s so weird to me to think of the animatronics as actual characters, not because of a spirit possessing them that we then just call by the mascot name for shorthand, but because they’re apparently intelligent enough to be their own beings with their own thoughts and desires. It honestly feels like the wrong direction to take the series in. IMO the robots should just be robots, and they only act like characters because of spirit possession. The ai stuff is just dumb.

I really like RyeToast’s theory that while Foxy was never at the Pizzaplex there were plans to bring Foxy in, but those plans ended up not happening because they were unable to finish the log ride.
Could just be the nostalgia talking, but I didn’t like how after SL, random things that were important to the OG four animatronics were either changed or removed, whether that be some of them not getting dialogue in UCN or Foxy and Bonnie having hardly much of a presence in SB.

During F.N.A.F.5, I think she has her own sister location of Freddy’s and Circus Baby’s World called Chica’s Party World.
Yeah she exists she showed up in Fnaf 6 but she still wasn’t one of the animitronics present in the circus baby brand, I personally also imagine that she had her own location at the time. Something as major as a whole sister location to the Sister Location never being mentioned once outside of a minigame from a previous title that certainly has nothing to do with it and a website source code string of text that only ever mentions it once, of which same source code was used for rental listings seems like a lot to keep hidden for no reason.

According to the Ruin collectables, the Log Ride attraction never got finished building. The only reason i think Cassie rode the log ride was cause her dad was a technician, so itd make sense fazbear would use employees kids as test subjects for rides that are still in beta. Im guessing that the cowboy branding didnt go over well from test groups and they dropped it before they got it off the ground and replaced it with the cooler Roxy.
that and the fact the entire ride was built like shit, and the only way to fix it was to tear the whole thing down. better to build over it i guess! cant forget the decapitating foundational beam
I always thought it was something similar to what happened with the pirates of the Caribbean ride in Disney world, where before it's modern incarnation as the pirate ride we all know and love, it was cowboy themed, cause Disney thought pirates wouldn't sell well in Florida's already pirate saturated market. needless to say they were wrong and tons of people were upset at the lack of pirates in Disney world.

Because of the lack of Foxy and rather obvious replacement-but-not-quite in Roxy, I've had this headcannon for a while that Roxy's insecurities come not just from Fazbear's neglicence with AI, but also from the idea that she might know she's supposed to be a replacement. Maybe she's not entirely sure who she's replaced because of the lack of advertisement, but it gives her some more depth. I can imagine her being nice in front of the crowd, trying to put on the best show and hyping herself up to the detriment of others until she's forced into Safe Mode because there's a tiny voice in the back of her mind whispering that if she doesn't - that if the public doesn't like her enough - she might end up as a small side attraction in the daycare or have her raceway completely torn apart. Maybe that's also why she's so protective of it haha.
There's not really a lot of evidence towards this (well, maybe Bonnie being replaced so easily could tip her off, but that could easily not be relevant either), but if it was Bonnie, Freddy, Chica, and Roxy as the main 4 when the Pizzaplex was opened, she could have potentially figured it out. There is a mini museum exhibit about the franchise right in front of the band's greenrooms, so she would have access to the knowledge that the original were Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy. So definitely not impossible, but it's all just speculation.
It also puts Monty and Roxy in a unique position: they're the only ones aware that they're replacements. Monty is obvious, as he literally replaced Bonnie, but Roxy is also a replacement of Foxy even if there's no Glamrock version of him. Maybe she's even seen the broken logride. We know Chica goes down into the trash, Roxy might have wandered there or fallen in or something. This replacement idea could also explain why Freddy isn't really liked. Chica seems concerned in the intro and DJMM seems to be on good terms with him, but the other animatronics seem indifferent or outright hostile. Monty's hostilities are obvious, but Roxy is more indifferent, with the only notable interaction between them being when he enters her room after repairs.
But think of it this way: Freddy has been in every game possible, sometimes with multiple incarnations within the same game, and Chica has theoretically been through every animatronic generation except Springlock (Funtime Chicha exists, just not in SL), so they don't have to think of how they could easily be replaced for another character (even though they should if Mr. Glamrock Hippo is anything to go by), but Monty quite literally all but erased Glamrock Bonnie from existance and Roxy is a pretty obvious Foxy stand-in. It plays nicely with her attitude of having to be the best too, since she's well aware that if she isn't, she might be thrown to the side and burried.
I don't know, I just thought it gave some nice character to Monty and Roxy, and maybe offering some insight on why they (mostly Monty) hate Freddy, since, as the mascot, he's unlikely to ever be replaced by a new character (except when he quite literally is, but we'll ignore that). Again, more of a headcannon than anything else, there's very little hard evidence for this, but it doesn't detract anything from the characters imo.

I like how Foxy and Roxy exist as two seperate characters in universe. Its cool to have variant characters that stand out on there own from there inspiration. Though i think its funny that both were designed with specific themes in mind, retro 80s and old time pirate
It's funny to think Foxy has technically NEVER been "erased" by his replacements. The Foxy line is so unique that any attempt to replace him ended up with creating a whole new character.
Mangle was originally Toy Foxy (or Funtime according to FNAF World but that was probably the same idea that ended up in the Fourth Closet and is not canon to base games) but in game, she isn't just a variation... He is her own character and got variation on his own. There isn't any "Phantom Toy Bonnie" or "Nightmare Funtime Chica" BUT there is a "Phantom Mangle" and there is a "Nightmare Mangle". All existing ALONGSIDE Phantom Foxy and Nightmare Foxy.
In Freddy's in Space 3 (a troll game made by Scott himself), the party consists of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy... And Mangle as her own separate being. Heck, even Funtime Foxy (whotechnically isn't a replacement as he wasn't meant to be at a "Freddy's") is visually more of a Mangle variation than a Foxy one.
While the others were either... HIM (like Phantom Foxy that is litterally Withered Foxy) or not meant to be replacements at all (Nightmare Foxy was an illusion/a bot not meant for public and Rockstar Foxy was just a decoy made by Henry to trick William, Elizabeth and the Funtimes).
And now we have Roxy that isn't even ADVERTISED as a Foxy.
So yeah, Foxy really is the only one that CANNOT be replaced. Spiritual heirs are alright, but there is only ONE Foxy, technically.
I like to imagine foxy is like the old retired Grandpa telling stories in the kids Cove about his glory days and then meanwhile his great-granddaughter Roxanne took his place on the stage to entertain a new generation

I think that both Pirate and Cowboy Foxy have a place to exist alongside Roxy. I think the theming for all three Foxy variants are adorable.

I'd like to suggest that since there's zero Foxy animatronics in the Pizzaplex it's extremely possible that Fazbear Entertainment was in the middle of replacing the outdated Foxy animatronic seen/referenced in the various decor and the log ride with an updated Foxy using the modern Glamrock animatronic's endos and casings which takes time to program and the software correctly as well as design, prototype, fit, test, and the shell for him.
(14:36) Off-topic, but this art and the other images of Captain Foxy really makes me wish Foxy sported this outfit in F.N.A.F.1 and variations of Foxy would also have this outfit too. From what I can tell with there having been no mention of a Glamrock Foxy it shows how Fazbear Entertainment must've tried to experiment with seeing how popular his log ride would've been with an older audience to get a modern look like the other Glamrocks. Since the log ride failed they could've just decided to scrap the concept as a whole with Foxy getting a glamrock design and then realized they needed make a new character like Roxanne to fit with an older audience for the theme that Pizzaplex was going for with Go-Karts being a more popular choice in a party place than a slow log ride. Awesome job on this video NotRealName!
9:09 When you mentioned the theory that Roxy might have been Foxy, I was reminded of a comic I saw a long time ago where Foxy was transgender, and then went through the robot equivalent of a sex change to become Roxy.
I agree that Roxy isn't Foxy, however, I feel that part of her inferiority complex is actually rooted in the fact that she knows she's replacing Foxy and she has to live up to that imposing legacy. Part of what seems to go along with this is after Gregory wrecks the kart into her and takes her eyes, she starts chasing him through what appears to be some sort of furnace room. Said room has a ton of Foxy merch ready to be burned up.
Also another reason they likely would have made Roxy is that otherwise Chica was hard-carrying all the aspiring little girls. As it stands, Chica is supposed to be the cook/waitress character, but she's also the exercise gal. That is already too many things pushed onto one gal, so having another female cast member helps lighten the load in that aspect, and on that not, Roxy has clearly achieved that goal since gals and guys alike really like her.
I mean ,the number of people who fell for her when they heard her talking to herself in the mirror is notable.
Fun fact : there is a Funtime Foxy plushie hidden in Roxy's Room. So yeah, she's probably aware she's the last one of the brand.
Or that's just a meta commentary on her own personality since after SL, Scott joked about Funtime Foxy not having voice-lines by saying "You don't understand, Funtime Foxy is more of an introvert, you know?". And with how he is pridefully-over-the-top in UCN, the idea of the introvert acting as the vain loud one represents Roxy pretty well.

@@baisakhimukherjee7524 Truth to be told, I don't really know. I used the term "introvert" because that's how Scott referred to Funtime Foxy back in the day (but let's be honest, it was more of a joke and I fully believe he didn't think of a personality for the bot, at the time).
In the end, it's very difficult to speak about Funtime Foxy's real personality since his whole role in the Funtime Gang is to be the one who mimics voices and maneurism to distract and/or lure. So, is he REALLY an introvert and is only ACTING like an extrovert ? Or is it the other way around ? We don't know.
Roxy on the other hand is way more easy to understand. She isn't about Pride but about Vain Glory. A Prideful person love themself no matter the reality of their character. While a person with Vain Glory needs other to tell them they are incredible because their own self-esteem is actually quite low.
I think her character can work no matter if you think of her as an introvert, extrovert or ambivert.
It's up to you if you want to see her "rockstar persona" as a disguise to hide her own self-hate (introvert), or as an way to fit in society because she revels in social interactions (extrovert) or a mix of the two (ambivert).
But what I find really interesting is that her personality can echo the other two "black sheeps" of the Foxy line, aka Funtime Foxy and Mangle.
I already talked in which way she looks like Funtime Foxy, but it's funny to see how much similarity she has with Mangle too.
Not only is she her own character (just like Mangle as her own Nightmare and Phantom variations, NEXT TO Foxy's. In Freddy in Space 3, Mangle is even a playable character, next to the OGs), but in FNAF AR, Mangle was presented as somewhat deluded. Always talking about how "pretty" she looks and how everyone is "jealous" of said beauty.
However, other lines suggest Mangle is actually aware of her ugliness and is just pretending to cope. She seems really desperate asking why she was "made only to fall apart like this".
Also, you can hear Mangle sometimes uses a slighty lower voice, mainly to scare you, but sometimes to respond to what her "lighter voice" just said. And that's maybe me become crazy but I swear, I hear Roxy darkening her voice when she encourages herself (maybe to distanciate herself from the compliment, to make it feel more "authentic", I don't know.)
That reminds me that over the years foxy has always been the animatronic to give me the LEAST trouble. Rarely ever was killed by him. But when my friends play they get jumped by him.
Led to the inside joke that me and foxy are actually best buds.
For the ending stuff about the books.
Chica being yellow is because that was early in the pizzaplex. She is shown to have a cupcake too. In fact, she is likely the Chica who was in the sewer in the other story. Abe explicitly calls her 'a' Glamrock Chica, implying she's not the original. And he finds her alongside a bunch of other animatronics that got dumped here, its not Gregory's doing.

It makes it clear these are all old animatronics who were left to rot here, and calling her 'a' Glamrock Chica makes it clear its not the one currently being used.
The 'Moondrop' is just a hallucination of Moon, not the actual animatronic IIRC.
Also, the Mimic does not dress in a tiger costume. Tiger Rock existed as a robot head in the storyteller, and also as a form it takes in the virtual world. It wears a bunch of different costumes, including a lion one, it never wears a tiger costume.
My theory is that Fazbear Entertainment didn't have a Glamrock redesign for Foxy, in an attempt to keep him as nostalgia-bait... but then of course Corporate wanted a Foxy-esque character in the band, without making confusing branding.
Thus, they made Roxy for the band, and then had Foxy separate... and then didn't lean into the nostalgia-bait because "That's too niche!", so they changed the approach to try to please everyone, it failed, and then they muddled the branding with the Captain/Cowboy stuff, angering the nostalgia crowd, leaving only the kids who still liked Foxy.
Wildly speculative theory: Steel Wool is saving Glamrock Foxy as a draw for a future FNaF game.

I choose to go with the Undeniably Canon Timeline’s explanation, where Foxy was just a gimmick character for Fredbear & Friends to drive up ratings that Afton despised, and every other version of him without the pirate gimmick was an attempt at rebranding.
To me foxy was probably still in an much older model then the other animatronics. I'm only thinking this because his posters look much more like his oldee version.

Honest opinion: im glad that in modern fnaf cast is using different animals instead of the "original 4" because it allows for verity, imo. Now we just a replacment of sorts for chica.

I think you're spot on with this. A decline in popularity, a hasty re-theme attempted, ultimately replaced by cooler radder Roxy- who is the Fazbear version of Sonic and Shadow the hedgehog. "What if there was a second one of this character who is the same except this one is a different color and more edgy/modern."
Also I love when people take apart the books. People don't dunk on the books often enough. They're awful from a writing, entertainment, and lore standpoint all at once and I think it's weird that the fandom doesn't care about how absolutely garbage they are. They're like a 15 year olds rejected scary story, padded out to fill a page count and with 1 random element replaced with faz-something. They're both too slow to excite adult fans and too violent to really be appropriate for children. They are no one and the brand should consider them a disgrace. (Like come on, I could have come up with a better Moon themed scary story in literally two minutes.)

I'd argue that "Toy Foxy" and Funtime Foxy are evidence they'd eventually gender-swap and pallet-swap foxy so there would be two "girls" and two "boys" in the group for marketing purposes. I think Toy Foxy was the "fail", as it did become the mangle from children not respecting it / not liking it. I then think Funtime Foxy was drifting away from the total swap; but also I suspect that William Afton specifically created the Toy Foxy look, because then the Funtimes are all clearly based off of Mangle's look (and the funtime band mirrors the glamrock ratio of two "girls" and two "boys"). I wonder if Mangle's fate also sort of echos a theme the community has long suspected; that Henry's ideas seemed to be more successful and Afton's ideas weren't as popular; the Toy Series were released together, but the children did not treat Toy Fox like the other three and kept dismantling it. This could be taken a few different ways, but I think it shows the target audience wasn't "convinced" or "won over" by the re-design, while accepting the new designs of the other characters.
And then, years later, I think Roxy was successful because she has a more distinct design apart from Foxy; she is not a pallet swap and so I think the target audience was more accepting; her design does not remind them of a previous character much in the same way Monty does not remind them of Bonnie (they notice Bonnie is missing, but don't recognize Monty as a replacement/re-design of that character-type). To the adult eye we see the points of comparison, but these mascots are designed for children and so it would make meta-sense that we, the player, could see connections and "clues", but that in-universe children would not.

I don't think there ever was a Glamrock Foxy. Since Help Wanted 2 shows Captain Foxy I do think that the human employees at the Mega PizzaPlex were halfway through construction of the log flume ride, therefore not even close to being able to brainstorm Glamrock design ideas for Foxy, right before Vanessa was hired... Right before they were most likely killed. Let's be honest, what Cassie finds doesn't look at all like they were taking it apart to build more of Roxy Raceway but moreso being under construction

I have a headcanon that with every location Freddy has different band mates. For example in one location there’s Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica, but instead of Foxy there’s Monty, in another one perhaps Roxy is in Chica or even Bonnie’s place, and maybe there’s even a few locations where Freddy is paired up with some animatronics we’ve never even seen or heard about before.
The Pizzaplex that we’re familiar with is just one of those locations that uses Roxy instead of Foxy, and maybe there is a Pizzaplex that does use Foxy, but Monty, Roxy, Bonnie, or Chica are just not apart of that location.
Maybe the reason for Kid’s Cove and the canceled log ride is because Foxy was one of Freddy’s more popular friends, or perhaps he was planned to be at the Pizzaplex but Fazbear entertainment thought that 7 animatronics was more than enough money spent, especially since the log ride went nowhere so they just put a statue of Foxy in Kid’s Cove and called it a day.
The Pizzaplex seems large enough for there to be only one, but yeah, I'd see smaller restaurants only having one or two animatronics or mixing characters being a thing

Honestly I personally think Glamrock Foxy did exist at one point, just far enough in the past to where most of his presence was removed by Fazbear entertainment. Bonnie was only retired because of him being destroyed, so it's likely re branding Monty as the base player took up most of the companies time and as a result, left a lot of references to his existence. Foxy on the other hand seems to be a purposeful incident on Fazbears part, likely as a way to bring the company into a modern setting, and from what we can see, it seems like it's been long enough to where Fazbear entertainment has scrubbed most of his presence from the Pizzaplex, replacing it with Roxy. This could also explain why Roxy is so insecure. Sure, Foxy was the odd one out in the group, but he was still MASSIVELY popular, so the weight on her shoulders trying to live up to her predecessor who's been in the franchise since it's creation 50 years ago would take a mental toll on anyone.

I think Steel Wool bringing in new characters is great. As much as I was sad to see foxy and bonny missing, I appreciate the introduction of new characters after however many games of the same ones just in different iterations. What I dont like is how quickly these new ones have already been retired. Monty is surely too far gone to be brought back and Roxy was defeated by the mimic. Two new characters that replaced some classics are now just gone and what are we even left with?
Foxy was always my fave but glamrock bonny is basically tied now, which I think is quite ironic.

Idk how popular Foxy is in universe but since he was one of if not the most popular character irl, i like to asuming he had similar popularity in the lore and Fazbear entertainment knew there was no hope in hell they could make him vanish.
Like they were confident people would stop asking about Bonnie if they gave Montie the bass and a backstory. But they knew Foxy was to popular for them to just decomition so just gave him his old pirate coat and added some costal theming to the daycare.

1 - I love Roxy Is Foxy in part because it gives me the image of Foxy going to a tech and saying "Hey, I think I'm a lass. Can ye help me with that?" And the tech going "DANG RIGHT I CAN HELP YOU WITH THAT" cause they themselves transitioned or their kid is GNC or socially transitioning so they don't even ask permission they just call someone they know who knows the character designer and find out how much to commission a concept of a feminine Foxy with some modern need for speed.
2 - Imagine Freddy Not Understanding Like The Himbo He Is for like... a *month* until Chica is like "No, no, sweetie... Foxy isn't missing. She's right there, and she goes by Roxy now. Get it?" And as it Dawns on him he starts freaking out and runs to apologize only for Chica to catch him again and stop him from making a scene
3 - ALTERNATIVE THEORY! Foxy, as an old-school fan favorite, is 'on hiatus' from the stage Cause He's Been Appearing In Movies. Like... that Pirates of the Caribbean poster mighta started as a stage show in the daycare, but I've heard of movies being based on sillier things than a play written for a major children's entertainment company [ Disney ]. Obviously he can't be doing movies AND rocking out at the Pizzaplex every night! Which is why you GOTTA go see the movie, where the Foxy animatronic is used to drive theater audiences by only showing up as part of the opening night hype and participating theaters.
4 - ALTERNATIVE THEORY 2! Foxy, because he's extremely popular, only appears as part of Fall Fest to drive attendance.
The thing with yellow Chica is that she was seemingly an older version, as that Shattered Chica in the sewers is yellow, implying that Fazbear Entertainment through her out and replaced her with the white version. But overall, I like the video a lot! It's easy to just say "no, there was or wasn't a Glamrock Foxy" and just leave it at that, but I'm happy to see speculation on it instead.

Plausible. I mean, it makes sense since Mangle (a Foxy variation) was already meant to take care of kids (before becoming a take-apart-and-put-back-together toy, that is) and even the name "Kid's Cove" originates from Mangle's location. So the Foxy line was established as the one taking care of kids, just like the Freddy line is the singer one.

A personal headcanon of mine is that there WAS a glamrock foxy being made, but he was scrapped mid-production and they just overwrote his personality chip and reused it for Roxy, BUT some of him is still in there and he is that second voice that speaks to Roxy when she's hyping herself up ("your hair is beautiful, your face is beautiful, everyone adores you, everyone wants to be you. I'd like to put forward the idea that Roxy was Foxy in the prototyping stage. However, during the development of the Pizzaplex, they thought, "this needs some more spice," and redesigned him into a new character.
I don't have any actual physical evidence, so this is just a headcanon, but it would also make sense of why they look so similar. She literally WAS him at first.
This might have been completely unintentional, but I feel like Monty might actually be a better parallel to Foxy than Roxy, despite being two completely different species. When you point a Fazer Blaster or flash the Faz Cam at Monty when he’s decommissioned, he screams in pain and in FNAF 2 Foxy used to be driven away by pointing a flashlight at him. Foxy also spends a lot of time on pirate’s cove similar to how Monty is implied to spend time in Gator Golf, according to duffel bags, and almost occasionally attend performances, like how Foxy occasionally leaves Pirate’s Cove.
They’re also both somewhat aquatic-based as Foxy Is a pirate, and Monty is an Alligator. Both also only have pants as clothes in their basic versions and have some type of eyewear. Both also seem to be pretty popular in-universe. Foxy was replaced, and Monty is a replacement. Foxy was also theorized as the “good guy” in the group similar to how Monty is theorized as the “bad guy”. Monty also looses his legs, similar to how Foxy looses his legs at times in UCN. Both also have rides devoted to them. I also think they both also have an “outcast” vibe in the group, like something is different about them in particular that makes them out of place. Both also seem to have a particularly male demographic in-universe, so maybe Monty was made for the fans that were disappointed there was no Glamrock Foxy like, “Yeah, the Foxy fans will love this guy.” Maybe he’s where the Foxy fans went in-universe, which is why he got so popular. I could have made this all up though, idk. (Sorry if this was too lengthy.)
I wish other theorists looked at the books this way... Too many people see everything in the books as 100% canonical to the games. 😂

My theory has always been that Foxy was too hard to keep fixing and they might’ve just wanted to keep him off to the side to avoid the trouble. I find it odd that there’s basically nothing on him like glam rock Bonnie has so that just helps feed my delusions! I feel like it’d be pretty cool to see his glam rock version make an appearance, along with his boat ride!!
Foxy has been one of my favourite animatronics for a while (foxes are one of my favourite animals) so I hope he does make a return sooner rather than later! But that’s just me haha.

I feel like to keep Foxy in theme with what Fazbear's had become while still having him in his pirate theme he's famous for is to have him be like a galactic pirate or something (think like what Jonathan Young did with his music videos for "Glory or Gold" and "Man the Cannons" for an idea of what I mean), keeping him in his pirate themed roots while still fitting in with the new high-tech and "hip with the kids" branding

Personally, I think Foxy's personality has been tainted with Michael's grief. It is so deep-rooted that the character cannot be put in one of the self-machine learning endos and despite many attempts, they couldn't put Foxy into one of them.
So they made the best next thing could do: Just like Sun and Moon, the put two personalities into one body, Baby and Michael then flipped the switch and got Roxy (just like Cassie did with Eclipse) I've been thinking for a while that the personalities of the animatronics are not random, they're made from the data they've gathered from FNAF 1 to Pizzeria simulator.
Which is why Vanessa only threatened G.Freddy back in SB instead of just shutting it down, she knows getting a replacement is no easy task, the nature of the animatronics makes them unpredictable, even if you make a copy of them, wipe their memories, replicate the same learning pattern to teach the endos, it won't guarantee the endos will become docile to their bidding.

Another possibility is that Foxy was gonna get an official debut at the Megaplex, as a part of a phase 2/expansion that never happened because the entire Megaplex got ruined. Something similar was suggested by RUclipsr RyeToast.
It is my head canon that in SB when he didn't make the cut in the Pizzaplex, Fazbear Entertainment made a him a spin off bar somewhere. It has lots of rum and moonshine.
Glam Foxy isnt in security breach because undead phone guy who is secretly the ceo of fazbear ent saw that the animatronics were being tampered and took his favorite boi out to be his personal animatronic. But hey that just a theory.
I do miss the original four. with the popularity of the new characters, I wonder how they'll continue the core cast after the Security Breach arc is over.
I think it might be possible that Foxy's role (if he was supposed to have one) in the Pizzaplex is that he might have been supposed to be an actor, similar to the Staffbots that act and play roles in the theater, shown in the HW2 staffbot makeup minigame. With the hints of him originally being meant for the daycare, it would make sense that he also was supposed to preform in the Fazbear Theater in the daycare. Maybe Cowboy Foxy was one of his roles he played, along side pirate Foxy and potentially other genres. It would make sense with there being posters and cutouts for a "Pirate Foxy's Adventure" movie/performance all over the Pizzaplex. That could be one of his roles he plays in the theater.
There's something really funny about the rough and tough pirate that's probably made reference to killing people off screen in his movies being considered more kid friendly than the thing meant to take care of children.
