I thought it was a weak movie, I didn't buy the main character, Isabella Rosellini had the only believable, engrossing acting. The script was flimsy. But good God, the setting exposes the extreme power and wealth of the Catholic Church, which people in the US don't realize
Watched the movie on Saturday; absolutely loved it including the ending!! The cast is simply amaizng and the movie is gorgeous to look at. I like the music too!
Been on my list since I couldn't get tickets to it at TIFF, just got out of the screening, Although for whatever reason I expected some more mystery to be involved, it was still great. Did not see that ending coming at all, my theatre was caught of guard by it
Enjoyed the movie, until the end. Ridiculous and seems like it was trying to make a definite statement. No way was that believable to me. (And no, I am NOT Catholic.)
The twist ending made me sick to my stomach! And the fact that they were OK with it was just revolting. 16:00 you claim that there’s no sex or nudity but the whole story is about sex and homosexuality. It’s disgusting! They have one cardinal that says that unrepentant homosexuals should go to hell which is where unrepentant sinners go. So they make sure that they get him to be disqualified. And then turns out that the guy that they do elect for Pope is actually a woman and they let it slide because hey we’ve had men for thousands of years. Let’s see what a woman can do and as long as nobody knows it’s a woman it’s all good! Absolutely sickening I can’t imagine how any Catholic person would be on board with this. I’m hoping that collar is just a bit of Halloween costuming on your part.
Hearts blinded by greed, lust for power, revenge, us-and-them thinking disqualify those who aspire to spiritual leadership. Hearts guided by love, compassion, and mercy make those who aspire to spiritual leadership perfectly suited-no matter their genitalia. That is the profound and enduring point of ‘Conclave.’ If your own heart is blinded to that point, you have likely lost your way, and I will pray for you.
Look, people can't afford to pay rent, buy homes, have families in the USA. Maybe if we did, we'd have empathy to spare for others. Right now, we feel unseen and swept under the rug and forgotten, so it gets annoying that this theme is going on over and over and over
It was terrible. Honestly, people are only praising this movie because it's so ant- catholic. Downright blasphemous and I'm not even catholic. Boring progressive Oscar bait.
Not really horrible if you enjoy trashing other people’s religions or beliefs…what a brave movie to make. 😂 I think if the female pope had also been trans it would have been even braver. 😂 DEI! DEI! Bravo!
Nice collar, Chris!
THanks for having Ruban on! I like his thoughts and ideas!
TERRIFIC film. Great acting, great story telling, excellent production values. Loved it. Surprise ending made it even better!

Im onboard with this one. Looking forward to it.
Wow this has a remarkable cast!! Hadn't heard of this film, but now it's on my list to watch!! Thx. Have a nice weekend ☺️
Cheers boyz, have to add this to our list now, for sure!
Thanks.
I am certainly watching this.
Two legends side by side

Where is this on Netflix or RUclips
Neither, it's in theaters.
Thanks for the commentary.
I don’t mind a slow pace or being required to pay attention but I don’t care for the subject of the film.
Cool
Enjoyed the movie, until the end.

‘We ate pancreas.’
POWERFUL…This was the best movie I’ve seen in years!!!!
Wow you have horrible taste or never watch movies. Which one?
"Not really any violence"? Umm. You forgot a key scene. Good review, otherwise.
For me it was boring. Everyone seems to like it more than me. 5.5/10
I have loved watching Stanley Tucci ever since I saw him playing Adrian Monk in an episode of Monk. I doubt very much that I’ll be bored.
I thought the ending was brilliant, but 1000% fiction because ain’t no way 😂

Oh, cmon…the folks who made this movie were sooo brave…according to their Hollywood bros.
This movie was not anti-catholic lol. Criticizing certain aspects of an institution does not mean you stand in total opposition to that institution.
Trash absolute Trash! That ending was horrible

sorry but I *detest* these religious Oscar bait films
“Oscar bait” in your comment has generated a full on search for all the other viewers 😅 how?!
No one cares what you think ..Don't watch it. There are people who will see it. Go watch Disney dribble
Have you seen it? It’s based on a book and by all accounts is pretty incredible. But don’t let me disrupt your needles triggering.
