Christine Brennan is a great journalist and has been for a really really long time. She has been the only one covering women's sports since like the 80's. She covers all women's sports and not just basketball so I forgive her for not knowing about 3 to the dome, I didn't know that either. Christine Brennan was one of the few in the media calling out the crap CC was getting at the beginning of the season before others jumped on board.

Well then, why didn't Carrington simply answer that Mabrey was doing a 3 to the dome? Carrington is a thug and liar. DC, who seems so smart, is caught in this narrative (some of which I get) but she cant also see beyond it … … it’s hurting her own value, and not allowing her to enjoy the overall positives of the growing game, and it’s distracting from her colleagues and leagues’s highlights/playoffs … with her expressed concerns (which I sadly agree with) about trolls and racism/rage-baiting and bullying and social media - sounds like she’s found a good cause to advocate against during her off season … .

There’s plenty issues in these men’s leagues as well. Gambling fixes on games, players having gaming problems, multiple baby mamas, adultery, assault on fans, assault on your own coach, gun waving, rec drugs, PEDs, corking your bat, bad refs (Angel Hernandez), refs fixing games, players fist fighting each other, deflate-gate?, pine tar, perpetual floppers… I’m sure there’s more…
Male athletes still do play even after disrespecting their league (some had to serve jail time, so yes, they didn’t come back). Bad behavior is sometimes eclipsed by the scandalous revenue brought in for the league.
Just reality. Society is filled with toxic people, cheating people, people with integrity, people with morals… the WNBA is a slice of this as with the male leagues.
More eyes are on the WNBA now, so the critiques seem magnified. Still, the WNBA drama is more benign to me than these male leagues.

Caitlin crashed the party and made it popular and fun. But some in the status quo were offended because they themselves couldn't generate this level of excitement and interest. The 'W' wants to be big time and relevant? Well here's their chance! Hope those in charge take this opportunity and run with it!

Djonaius, got caught lying. Now its Brennans fault for asking questions. Im a mom of three girls and i know when somebody is lyin. So if it was an accident, why didn't she apologize? I'd feel awful were it me. But CC didn't get an apology, but joked about it. Karma is a bitch!

There’s no substance, just hallow ideologies 😮… The cure is to higher adults based on merit; give these adults a mandate to be profitable… since this is a basketball league the emphasis would be on making a product people would want to watch 😊 Caitlin Clark sets that example.. polite, respectful, confident (without arrogance) hard working and a team player..

I kept waiting for the horrible thing that Christine Brennan asked it was never there was it phrased poorly yes. Did it give Carrington a chance to put her comment on the record yes. I have gone to both Oakland Raiders ( when in Oakland as a Colts fan) and a 49ers game ( at Candlestick as a bears fan) in my Jerseys. I have gone to SJ Sharks games in my Blackhwaks Jersey. Was it loud yes did I get abuse yes, did it cross a line for me no, and I will not accept mysoginistic, Homophobic or racist abuse. The people next to me at the sharks game said they were going to give the person who sold their seat to me a tough time for allowing the enemy in the fold. Did I feel threatened no I found it funny. Thank you for reporting on X since I refuse to carry a cesspool in my pocket.

The WNBA players are overwhelmingly engaged in and influenced by their sociocultural activism. Basketball is a game about skill, talent, hard work and team chemistry. Sports reporters are allowed to and in fact responsible for asking questions about basketball and basketball play! Carrington FOULED Clark and gouged at her eye. It sure the hell looked intentional. Even if it wasn’t, the foul should have been reviewed and CALLED! It wasn’t. Brennan asking about this wasn’t racist. She didn’t promote any “ist” or “ism” thoughts, ideologies, or behaviors. A professional sports reporter asked an entirely appropriate question of a basketball player about a basketball play that looked damn dirty! A question that MANY of us wanted asked. I don’t give a rip that Carrington is black or that Caitlin is white! I care that Carrington poked Clark in the freaking eyeball and it looked intentional!

Yes, interesting of the source of the slow motion and different angle of the Spicy Dijon eye poke on CC. Where did it come from? Is it a zoom-in of a pulled back shot/or video shooting of the game? Is it from someone situated in the stands at the game (a ticket holder)?

Hey Robin, what if the Fever put out an official PSA about being against hate based on Race, Sex, Orientation etc. That might shut up their haters, and for the league maybe they should bring in consultants for each team to help them understand how to handle hateful online messages. Besides that not sure what can be gone. Trolls will always exist in the internet. Even if CC stopped playing Basketball today, the hounds have been unleashed on the internet and there is no true way to obliterate them.

The fever should instead file charges, first for multiple assaults against Clark, then, game-rigging against the refs and last but not least, for harassment and damage to the reputation of the organization, the players and the fan-base.
Let law enforcement figure out, how much those "poorpoorpityfulme" snowflakes have suffered, the net doesn't forget, evidence would be out there!

That players union is a joke. Instead of focusing on what a union should focus on it’s wasting time trying to censor a journalist! No wonder the WNBA never had a decent CBA until CC came along. Here’s some advise union, have a campaign to safe up the sport, ban long dangerous finger nails and make it more serious for flagrant fouls, push for more suspensions, make sure the CBA doesn’t get violated grieve for those that are harmed….! Stop wasting time with nonsense!

There has never been anything social about social media. The best thing players can do is to get off social media during the season. The other major problem is the WNBA players, coaches, and owners who do and say inflammatory things which does nothing but throws gas on the fire of the fans. Also having referees who are consistently inconsistent (I'm being nice) adds to the social media problem too. The WNBA has been a giant disappointment to me as a first year viewer and they have only reinforced the negative stereotype that they have had for years. I'm not trying to be hateful, racist, sexist, or misogynistic with these comments. I'm just giving my honest assessment of my first WNBA experience. The league has more self-inflicted drama in it than it does basketball. I'm glad the season is over, I need a rest from it. I'm looking forward to watching women's college basketball, where there is more basketball than drama.

OMG grow up WNBA and its PA. If you want to be a pro sport, act like one, give suspensions and fines other than because of technicals. It feels like the W looooves its physical play but it's unwatchable at times and then a player blatantly flops and now it's a soft league. The refs are bad in the NBA but the W gets the ones that were not good enough for the NBA, college and the G. It really needs to find its footing or all this sudden exposure will have been for nothing.

The players don't care if they have to burn down the league. They want CC gone. They will never be satisfied with any other appeasement. They will keep pushing back on reality until they get their way, and CC is gone. Somehow they made a league which is run by the players and lost money for 20 years, yet still exists and calls itself Professional. More like pathetic.
