    My first electric bass was a Cort. I was 12 years old . My Priest had given me money for graduating seventh grade and I had seen this bass sitting in a pawn shop window and went to purchase it. I remember sitting in our apartment learning to play and my downstairs neighbors father who was a guitar player sent his son Andre to give me an amplifier he was no longer using. I played everything that came on the radio. WOW what memories ! Cort Bass guitars have come a long way.

    It's funny, was just watching other bass reviews wondering if I could find something with modern appearance with a more vintage tone to it and immediately, you guys deliver. The local guitar shop just happened to have a couple of these in stock and was interested in the City A and B series. I will definitely plug one of these guys in next time! Thanks guys!

    Great review, Cort has had some of the best value for money basses for years now, and they are just getting better and better. I love the shape of Cort's basses too, super comfortable to play! I own a B5 and a Action PJ, and the only thing I would say should be upgraded is the pickups.

      I agree completely. I have a B4 asrm and the persona 5. Both of these are way more comfortable to play seated than the Ibanez or the Schecter. I'm replacing the Mk1's with Mk 5's

    I bought a Cort Gb74 GIG and it is an absolute beast. It has so many options it’s almost overwhelming. Fret quality could have been better and I wish they used a different preamp but those are small inconveniences. It’s my main bass now on stage.

    • @vincegarcia4110
      @vincegarcia4110 Год назад

      I think, I figured Cort's naming scheme upon search for a bass guitar. The ZBMH, may mean "zebrawood and mahogany." Then the two variants of those is OTAB and TBB. In which, TBB, means, transparent burst black. The other one is open-pore tobacco sunburst, based on the website. Dunno tho why OTAB.

    I'd love to know the neck width measurements at the 5th, 7th, 12th, and 24th frets if you guys can post them here.18mm bridge is perfect for 5-strings, agreed. Only sometimes the neck gets a bit too thick on them. I'm currently trying to decide between this bass and the Cort Action V with a Hipshot kickass bridge to mitigate the far too narrow 16mm spacing.

      I think you mean your action - which also means you’ll have to adjust the intonation. The down and dirty is that you use the truss rod and saddle height adjustments to adjust the height of the strings from the frets and body, then use the saddle again to adjust the length for intonation. It’s a bit of a complicated process to post here, but if you look up “action and intonation adjust bass guitar” I bet there are plenty of videos on it.

      OVMH, the variant on this video, I think means "ovangkol and/on mahogany." Then the ZBMH must mean "zebrawood and/on mahogany." Based on the Cort website.

  • @vlkt7488

    I am sorry guys, but the preamp inside is not markbass. It might be designed by markbass, markbass project, but it is not markbass. You will not find the same preamp on the markbass website, moreover, preamp by markbass you will find is absolutely different. The one inside looks like aliexpress preamp for 20$. It's not a fraud or cheating, it might be designed by markbass, but definitely it is not the one listed on their website. Sorry.
    After all this bass is great, all basses in artisan series are nice, worth every penny spent on them, I believe that it's even better than it's closest rival Ibanez SR505. But you shouldn't let the marketers and advertising lead you astray.

    Hey guys, really enjoy your vids. Unfortunately with this brand, you need to emphasise on their total and utter lack of support. None of their dealers cary spares, and the vendor does NOT respond to any request for support. In this day and age, this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Please, next time you do a video on one of their products, have a massive, highlited disclaimer that they don't care at all for their loyal customers. This is something that should be HIGHLIGHTED as part of what you buy into when you get one of their guitars. Any major brand like Fender, Gibson, Epiphone, Ibanez etc would not leave a customer with a broken instrument. The boutique vendors would also hate to see their customers stranded. But these guys, they fall into a bracket that is probably in the Harley Benton type of service quality. In fact, due to Harley Bentons route to market (mainly Thomann) at least there is a decent contact channel. Cort is obviously in a position to be uncaring since their factory produce numerous brands, but their own brand suffers as a result. My bass is the C4 Artisan range, and I would hate to be one of the guys who bought into their high end, expensive range, only to be subject to the terrible service. By all means, buy their cheap stuff as you are then at least resigned to the fact that when something goes wrong, you can tip it in the bin and chalk it up to a bad experience....with one of their expensive range, you are left with your empty wallet in your hand. Avoid at all costs.

    • @basstheworldofficial
      @basstheworldofficial  2 года назад

      I’m sorry but that’s your personal experience, with a dealer who likely gets his basses from a distributor, who buys from Cort. Not sure what happened in your individual case, but it’s too simple to blame it all on Cort. I’ve been doing customer service for other brands for years and it’s just impossible for a big brand to be on top of all these cases. The dealer is responsible for you, not the manufacturer. That’s just something to keep in mind

    • @GrimYak
      @GrimYak 2 года назад +1

      just for my understanding, what type of support was needed that was specific to Cort? electronics? wood? hardware? anyone with a mind and a screwdriver and a soldering iron can fix a guitar or bass these days so im really wondering what the issue is.

    Why do bass videos invariably demo lots of slap, when in the real world it's almost never used? Certainly not 50% of the time, which is how much time is devoted to it. Demo the bass with real world playing.

      Mainstream music doesn't play Slap, but on the Churches, Cafe, Clubs and live performances everybody use the Slap. I meant the biggest costumer who buys the bass are the people who play on that stage.
