Melisandre was probably more powerful at the Wall due to the high magic concentration from the Walls construction. It is said that the Children used their magic on the Wall......

I think she said she was "stronger" at the wall , not "more powerful". There is a difference.

I will just add onto this thread since you said something I was about to anyway, kudos on that.
So basically the children of the forest are not, in my opinion, confined to Westeross because of this:
" foul concoction brewed from the nearby trees - until their lips turn blue, the better to frighten children." in regards to the warlocks of Quarth.
"better to frighten children" of the forest in Essos would be my bet, a simple "we have conquered the childrens magic by taking the faces from the trees and drinking from its sap and leaves gives us power, the power to destroy the children" a message marked by their blue lips.
If we take it that the children became one with the weirwoods after death, then to drink a concoction made from that trees sap and leaves is a sure fire method of taking its power for yourself, something which you can probably bet the children were not happy about but could not stop.
The idea that greenseers are confined only to westeross forgets that patchface exists, that the quaif exists and decides without cause that a thing can only happen in one place and nowhere else without quantifying why in any way.
The doom of valyria for example, was predicted/prophecised by the Targeryans that fled, predictions and prophecies happen all over and for that to be true you would need seers, maybe not green seers if that is specific to westeross weirwoods (though I doubt this due to maggie the frog being from Essos but fitting the green seer description very closely.
Now I am not saying that Melisandre is definitively from Essos, but what I am saying is there was nothing in this video or any other that I have seen which would lead me to conclude she is from Westeross or that green seers can only be born in Westeross, whereas there are plenty of examples which indicate the opposite to be true.

Tony S so he gave Geoffrey, Euron and Ramsey redeeming qualities in the books? Because on the show there is nothing good about any of them. Cersei, Jaime, Tywin, Stannis, Robert, Caitlyn, High Sparrow... sure they had a little to a fair amount of good in them, but there are definitely some characters I feel are pure evil.

@Graphique Jack you need to dig deeper on the show which a lot of you have refused to do. They did a great job w/ the entire show IMO. Ramsey was supposed to be sympathetic in the sense that he was a bastard who was always trying to please his father & his insecurities and natural propensity towards sociopathy turned him into the monster he was. He genuinely cared for Myranda, he was saddened by her death and telling Maester Wolkin to feed her to the hounds was him trying to act like he didn’t care. He was embarrassed the Maester saw him in a moment of vulnerability. He genuinely respected his father & when he killed him in the end he did it out of fear; he didn’t want his father lording the new baby over him and he was afraid his father would forget about him. When u look at Ramsey’s motivations & his entire character, he becomes somewhat sympathetic. His actions are motivated by insecurity & his sociopathic tendencies ( hes not a full blown sociopath bc they don’t feel like Ramsey does) make them severe. He is evil
But that evil comes from a sympathetic place. Joeffry did genuinely care for Marjorie and although I don’t think she would have been able to temper his worst instincts, she would have made him a much better king to the common people. It was his mother who ruined him by doting on him and refusing to believe he was turning into a monster. She let that go unchecked. Waving at the door, being somewhat cool w/ Marjorie’s charitable acts, standing up to his mother & taking Marjories side ( something Tommen never did) were all supposed to be hints by the show runners that with the right guidance Jeoffrey could be tamed at least a little. Would he still torment Sansa, yes probably, and we saw that it didn’t change his disgusting actions towards Tyrion but she could have at least tamed him to the point to where the ppl wouldn’t be starving & she had a much better chance with him than with Tommen at getting Cersei out of Kings Landing bc Joeffey didn’t let his mother disrespect his wife like that. He shut her down every time she tired which was a redeeming quality in him. It was Tommen’s inability to stand up to his mother than got his wife killed. That wouldn’t have happened on Joeffrey’s watch & Joeffrey would have put the High Sparrow down right away. Euron does respect Yara. That’s clear from the fact that he refuses to kill or torture her like he would have done with Theon. Not too many men respect strong women in this story & although it didn’t seem like it during the King’s Moor, he was trying to win a election and the best way to do that, as we saw with 46 and now with Bernie’s old as*, is to appeal to men’s misogyny. However when he was alone with her he didn’t hurt her, and he said he wanted to keep her alive for good company but it was really bc he respected her. He didn’t respect Theon at all bc he thought he was coward; and he knew yara wasn’t a coward. He’s also loyal which is more than what most of these lords and ladies can say. He went all the way to Essos & had a big army on that long trip back and could have convinced them to fight for him bc they would have had no choice as they were at his mercy on his ships, and Cersei has many redeeming qualities as a mother

When the Night King declined a one-on-one fight with Jon it reminded me of when Ramsey Bolton old Jon that he may beat him in single combat but he knows his army will beat Jon's army. I bet the NK was thinking the same thing. Especially since he saw Jon kill a WW at Hardhome.

Ok... theory time from the S8e3... We all saw Melissandra take off the broach, walk off and die... but I think I saw her "dust" (a la Avengers). Presuming others saw that too, I submit for thought that Mel was actually a Night Queen, a converted person like Benjen Stark. She couldn't die because of the magic from the NK, but wasn't bound to his will like the rest of the Others. She became a follower of the Lord of Light knowing that she would need that power if she ever wanted to help stop her ex-lover. How else did she get by the Army of the Dead without getting waxed to get to the front door in this episode?

Jessie Rankin she could still be Nissa Nissa. I actually think the first Nissa Nissa was a Child of The Forrest. The word Nisse actually means garden nome, I did a video on this. On how the Nisse have all the characteristics of the COTF and how they are even considered shape shifters!! So her sacrifice could be a Nissa Nissa like sacrifice and if she has Greenseer blood of COTF blood! History would repeat and come around full circle!

As usual you analysis is great, and very helpful to us non-book readers! Melisandre has been wrong with deadly results, and yet the savior of Jon, so she now needs to get some redemption. Her origins are intriguing and it’s great to hear more information on this. Her powers will be useful in the coming war, but what will she do beyond her own sacrifice ? Thank you Gray for giving us juice to survive the Long Night!!

I think she will try to access the Weirwood net and interfere with the NK that way. The NK seems to be connected to the Weirwood net, which is how he interferes with Bran, Maybe Melisandre can do the same.

Read an insightful comment recently (perhaps, under one of Grey Areas’ videos or Alt Shift X) theorizing that the ultimate way to transform the Night King and nullify his powers will be during a fiery final showdown with the Night King ending in engulfing the weirwood network in flames. Destroying it completely.
After listening to Grey Areas’ video and theories, Melisandre’s role (and that of her army of fire priests and priestesses) seems like a dynamic and tremendous visual conflagration of the weirwood network and the destruction of the Old God’s power. I cannot imagine Bran surviving this showdown and remaining in his physical form.
      We’ll soon find out!

I swear you always have me thinking about theses theories. Your along with a couple of others are very interesting. Even if they don't come true they are still fun to listen too. I hope they are accurate because that would make the story so much better

This is actually a really great theory. I read her chapter over and over trying to decipher everything. There’s definitely something up with her. I wish they would have done in the show what they did in the books, she changing Mance Raider and the Lord of Bones, and showed Jon and sent him to winterfell. That was so cool. I also wish they made her eyes red like they are in the books, this is what gives her that presence of terror or power to most

Ok... wouldn’t it be funny if Melisanldre was the. Original Nissa Nissa. We’ve seen characters bought back from death, We also know that She has certain powers. We all keep speculating about her seeking her death in Westeros, maybe her role is to be Nissa Nissa again, for the sake of defeating the darkness (??). Also the rubies are most definitely a source of power/magic. Considering this, with the variety of things Melisandre can do with her ruby, imagine the all those rubies set into the armour of Rheagar and events at the Battle of the Trident... mmmm interesting concepts, quite possibly tinfoil assumptions!!😂😂

No way she is Nissa Nissa. No one loves her in Westeros. Open your eyes people on all your far-fetched theories.

She doesn't seem so tied in with the other priestesses of R'hllor, who are all about Dany. I've been thinking for awhile that it's perhaps her visions are actually derived from greensight. Who knows, maybe she is a Bastard of Bloodraven and a wildling woman at Hardhome. I've also heard some theorize she is the child of Bloodraven and Shiera Seastar.

    • @GrayArea

Jawjagrrl I was reading some So Spake Martin and GRRM says that Melisandre is acting on her own accord. She wasn’t sent to seek out Stannis. She did it on her own.. and has her own motives which I thought was intense, honestly. Moqorro and the other red priests are dispatched but Melisandre didn’t come to Westeros that way. I’ve heard the Shiera+BR theory as well.. but I actually think Melisandre is to old to be their kid. Years beyond count seems like a really old long time. If she was B+S=M she would be what 60? 80 at the most. I don’t think that’s old enough.

Jawjagrrl The Hound actually had a "fire vision" so some magical force is high-lighting events to get people involved. I just wish they'd be more obvious for Milisandra!! she's deadly!
