Basically 2.5 minutes behind jumping into Freyja after Menesch, I saw you took a different route that is probably better overall because I see it doesn't have a Hunters spawn when you enter from Sherwood. Even the old route might benefit from that. There must be some time loss after Menesch, but it is still better than I thought it would be to have Tayla's missions instead of Goodin's.
I am surprised that the Tayla missions took so long. Her missions don't seem to be as bad as Goodin's "go patrol some system 5 jumps away" missions, but the total time taken is pretty close. The other time loss was various stupid mistakes, including getting too close to a Gothri and scraping 2 fusion cannons and 2 missile launchers off my ship at 1:31:46. Finishing the job with 2 damaged fusions was not exactly ideal :D
@@zyxophoj I have often debated with myself the possible utility of only buying two guns so that you can do more continuous fire but I think just being more accurate wins in the end. Having guns get destroyed is some of the absolute worst luck, though. Having both the missile launchers too? That's just crazy.
@@bitcores I'd really like to know how damage to the right side of the ship knocks off both missile launchers. Sure, every weapon on that side is fair game if the RNG really hates me, but the left launcher really ought not to be affected. If this were a serious speedrun and not a test of the Tayla route, I;d have been mad. ..and after accounting for my good luck this time (plutonium immediately available at New Detroit), and pretending my mistakes didn't happen, it still looks like the Tayla route is at least 1.5 minutes slower overall. Oh well. We try things; sometimes they even work.
If you eject cargo and pick it up again with a tractor beam, you get it back back in your hold. So, logically, if you pick it up with two tractor beams, you get two copies of the cargo back in your hold. It's a bug. It works with any cargo type; we just dupe plutonium because it's the most expensive thing we can get hold of.

how are you just farming plutonium at new detroit?
