I knew the info behind 511 and it bears repeating! Your research is very important to share! Thank you! Happy Mothers Day Pam! Blessings
I just started this video and came across your channel. I had to come here and say you feel like home. You feel like someone who is going to help me a lot. The way you speak I feel like you are someone who is already a friend. I feel strange saying that because I never have but you my dear are a blessing. I have had plants for the past 25 years and grew up with them. Plants have always been a bonding thing between my mother and I. I really appreciate you and I can already see you helping me and things this daughter can pass on to her mom. My son has gotten the love of plants too so now I can share that with him too. Thank you.
My family old school natives. We use the whole fish and bury it. Now what I do is put it on a bucket with soil and on top of it is some other compost items. My grandma taught me that. Bless her souls she would’ve been 92 today. She’s the reason I garden.
62 now but when in my 20’s I had soooooo many house plants that thrived and always got compliments and questions as to how I grew them and how they flourished….answer, fish emulsion… I still use 5-1-1 in my raised beds and container gardens alway, no house plants now because of where we live but gardening, yes! Happy gardening! Thank for this great video and break down.
Catching up on some videos, currently on a Container Crops Marathon lol. I saw someone plant a fish head under one of their tomato plants as an experiment. The other one, just normal soil. The one with the fish head was three times larger, and more productive. Not gonna lie, when I heard about fertilizer shortages, I purchased some sardines as a back up 🌱🤠
❤ My grandfather used whole fish as fertilizer too. He always had a beautiful, productive garden, and grew some of the largest pumpkins I’ve ever seen.
I read a well written educated review about this product being so potent, it can attract predators into your garden area. The main problem with this would be if you have pets who share the same space. Here in central NC there are definitely larger animals who might be dangerous to our pets, other areas may be different. I switched over to a slightly more expensive brand with ZERO smell, this eliminates the predator issue.
Hi Auntie I hope you’re well. It’s CJ watching from Cape Town, South Africa. Can you suggest against blending the ingredients together together to make the fertilizer instead of letting it ferment?
My dear, thank you so much for this video!! I picked this product up today while trying to find a good non chemical fertilizer for my container/Tub plants. I put it down, but will be going back to get it tomorrow! Im also goin to send you a couple of links, for where I got the idea for this way of planting! Thank you again! be safe and be well!!

You've got a soothing voice! I came here looking for an answer to why the label says *not for use in organic crop and organic food production. Unfortunately, didn't find the answer but subscribed because I liked your video.
@@TheScaredyCatGardener Alaska fish fertilizer 5-1-1. Says it on the back of the label. I'm assuming they must put that on the label because they didn't pay for the organic certification but I'm not sure. I've been using the stuff for years and just noticed this.
I learned this by accident. My son in law & daughter were renting a house from me. When they moved out, I moved back in. The only thing they left was this large fish in the freezer. Thinking he just didn’t know what to do with it I buried it in the back yard. The next spring I planted a (1) tomato plant in that same spot. That plant flourished and just kept producing over & over again. I couldn’t believe the tomatoes that came off that 1 plant!!😅
