An easy way to think of fertilizer is Shoots-Roots- and Fruits.
N is Nitrogen for shoots. P is for phosphorus for Roots. and K is for Potassium for Fruits and blooms.
    Thanks for the video.

I just started this video and came across your channel. I had to come here and say you feel like home. You feel like someone who is going to help me a lot. The way you speak I feel like you are someone who is already a friend. I feel strange saying that because I never have but you my dear are a blessing. I have had plants for the past 25 years and grew up with them. Plants have always been a bonding thing between my mother and I. I really appreciate you and I can already see you helping me and things this daughter can pass on to her mom. My son has gotten the love of plants too so now I can share that with him too. Thank you.

My family old school natives. We use the whole fish and bury it. Now what I do is put it on a bucket with soil and on top of it is some other compost items. My grandma taught me that. Bless her souls she would’ve been 92 today. She’s the reason I garden.

I read a well written educated review about this product being so potent, it can attract predators into your garden area. The main problem with this would be if you have pets who share the same space. Here in central NC there are definitely larger animals who might be dangerous to our pets, other areas may be different. I switched over to a slightly more expensive brand with ZERO smell, this eliminates the predator issue.

    • @TheScaredyCatGardener

I learned this by accident. My son in law & daughter were renting a house from me. When they moved out, I moved back in. The only thing they left was this large fish in the freezer. Thinking he just didn’t know what to do with it I buried it in the back yard. The next spring I planted a (1) tomato plant in that same spot. That plant flourished and just kept producing over & over again. I couldn’t believe the tomatoes that came off that 1 plant!!😅

Alaska fish fert is the first part of a two part system!
Alaska fish fert is part of a two part system. The other part is called Morebloom also from Alaska. Where the fish fert is 5-1-1 the Morebloom is 0-10-10. You can see that they are made to be used simultaniously but in varying ratio. Like in the beginning of veg use more N but you still want to use the Morebloom. toward flowering use less of the first bottle's N.
Also, like you said . . . the plants don't get fed immediately after the Fish fert so I add my Part 1 about a month before I plant so the fish fert breaks down and starts deliviering nutes.
Thanks and keep up the great work.

We're in the middle of a nightmarish heat wave in Texas and a lot of my plants are turning yellow. Perky enough, but yellow. I have Sandy loam/blackland clay soil. Can I safely use 511 on my heat stressed trees abs shrubs? I have a very young gingko, two shantung maple trees, red tip photinias with loropetalum, a row of wax leaf privet, two small honeysuckle plants..I don't want to accidentally kill anything 😓 but I feel they could really use a little boost right now. Putting dashes in between signifies separation of title in this case one title would stop with the 5, another title would have just been the number 1 and the third title would have begun with 1 giving this video 3 titles. If that’s what you mean?🤔

You can be vegan all you want. The death of animals are used to grow your vegetables. Dead fish, and when the kill the cow for beef the poop is saved to fertilize your veges.
Worm castings is good but it ain’t enough for a good harvest unless you got a HUGE HUGE worm farm
      Good luck vegan eater.
