@raynemaxwell2000 she said that. You didn't watch the whole video because everything you said she acknowledged it in this exact video. Ms. Pat definitely does her homework
If the government says it is dangerous, and we aren't supposed to use it, that typically means it works very well! Thank you for the tips, your personality is absolutely delightful
I've purchased dried mugwort in the trippy health food store we have, and made it in herb pillows with other dried things like chamomile, rose bugs, lavender, etc. They were lovely gifts, and I loved handling the mugwort.
I grow Japanese mugwart. Very invasive and hardy. I don't regret planting it at all even though it took over, I just wish I knew it would take over like it did before I picked my spot. I love to smoke and this is a good smoke! It is a delicious tea. Just handeling it really promotes vivid dreaming. And a very good night's sleep. It is also related to wormwood, making it a great anti parasitic.
I make a tincture with it against the C. Artimus anua is used in other countries. HCQ. I forge Artimus Valgaria (mugwart ) at home. The smell and white fuzzy underleaf is how i identify it. Smells like sage.
Well....since I am getting my front yard prepared for sowing buffalo grass and blue muhly grass, I am only concerned about a hot Texas sun baking where the St. Augustine used to grow but finally gave up! 😊 Mugwort sounds definitely like a plant for a pot, not for the yard due to its invasive nature. You know, I am interested in some tea herbs. Like chamomile or lavender. I grow catnip for my cat, but catnip is great for people as a tea also.
@WarmFuzzyVibes you must be near by where I am. I was just reading up on those grasses for my mother's yard here in the DFW area. My next plan is to sow bluebonnet seeds all over the front yard. I don't know why every yard in Texas doesn't have them covering every square inch! 💁
Thanks for the excellent information. I'd say it's a Godsend plant. In Korea, we make pancakes with fresh picked ones, in salads and soup, rice-cakes, tea, use it for skin irritations, sprains, muscle aches, and a quick healing after giving birth and much more;
I've heard bitter is better when it comes to herbs 🌿 I grow my mugwort in containers. I had two varieties but my common mugwort didn't come back after the winter 🥶 thanks for sharing!
@@TheScaredyCatGardener I'm curious, what did you do in your previous career incarnation (for work)? I'm guessing college professor. You have an amazing stage presence- and you are a natural educator!
mugwort grows wild like crraaayyzzyyy in my area in NH. all i had to do was stop mowing the lawn and wonderful wild plants popped up, mugwort being one of them. i wrapped it up in its own stems, dried it, and used it to smudge, like sage. also mixed with with smoke stuff and meh it was alright. i have more plans for it. it does grow like crazy so i designated a certain little area to let it do its thang continually. and then harvest more freely from other areas to control the spread. it grows super tall, like 6 feet lol. and i love the smell. it looks like weed dried out, and lit up it does smell like weed.
Yeah, all you have to do is stop mowing your yard, and you'll have so many medicinal plants growing. You might even have some Self Heal growing. 😁 I say wait until late spring to mow. I love foraging so I pick all kind plants! 😁 I'm waiting for Purple Dead Nettle so I can make tea. Lol
@@MoniMeka there is self heal too lol , it tends to grow on the eastern shady side though. Specially the taller type ones. Doesn’t really seem like a plant that likes sun too much. And does not have a growth rate like mugwort here, at least. I do mow occasionally, but I hate to do it, I really do. I’m so glad that you are somebody who seems to really understand where I’m coming from in terms of mowing, and “weeds” lol. I’m not sure about nettle though I’ve come across a few stinging nettle which also grows in the eastern morning sun/ shady conditions,/early afternoon. That’s where they seem to proliferate; the self heal and the nettle. And yeah I am not sure what purple dead nettle is. I’m still learning. And I’m really happy there’s other people like me because sometimes I feel like a weirdo about this stuff. lol Many people, it seems like most people, do not understand my fascination with plants. And ofc it doesn’t stop there.. i flippin love bugs. Bees, spiders, butterflies. Mosquitoes and horse flies tho.. ….. nope lol those ones I fkn hate. God damn they are annoying! Also I do rock hunting, mushroom hunting, what else? Literally anything pertaining to the outdoors. I’m in love 😍 you and others such as yourself really help me know I’m not alone. Thank god and thank you for replying and letting me (and others) know you’re out there ❤️
I dont know where you are , but mugwort isn't banned or illegal in america. I smoke it regularly, it cleanses the lungs and helps with anxiety...I made a video on it on my own channel
@@TheScaredyCatGardener thats just absurd. In my opinion, nobody has any right to ban anything from anyone ..especially gifts like this from mother nature.
I started watching your shorts some months ago they are great I really learn a lot.😁I live in Florida and didn’t see that lavender needed stratification. I planted mine in Jan and it’s really going now. I do research on the veggies and fruit but I really need to do them more on herbs. I am growing lots of them. 😂I’m working on researching the herbs now thanks for the info. Oh I know it’s on the other video but I am growing lovage as well. Thanks for that info I was growing it for pollinator’s but I Will definitely be using that.
I think I'm gonna try The Pam Way this Spring. Chicago's weather is so iffy so I've been starting indoors. They come up good at the start but then they start getting 'leggy' and be struggling once I get them outside. And I'm with you regards these dang fungus gnats. They drive me crazy.
The reason it’s banned in some places is because “mugwort should not be used during pregnancy because it may start menstruation and cause the uterus to contract.”
Love your disclaimers! You have to do that with all that you do in these times lest it comes to bite you in the butt. You may want to add that you're not an herbalist which is the specialty of professionals who may work specifically with herbs for medicinal health. You don't want to be tripped up in the verbage. Can't wait to see what's next 😉
I've never heard of it before, but i use a lot of other herbs and such. As for asking a doctor, no. I dont trust doctors anymore. My opinion, just saying. Love your channels! Thanks for sharing.
Does anyone know if someone allergic to ragweed would have similar issues with mugwort since theyre related? Like is it dependent on /how/ allergic you are to ragweed? Or not something to worry about if their pollen is different enough or something?
Only banned for consumption in some places. Everyone should check their local and state regulations and restrictions. Easily researched online. Do your own homework 😊
All those banned must be very good for you. Otherwise, they wouldn’t care
Ummmmhmmmm
I think this is banned because it's invasive...like buckthorn
Exactly !

You’re welcome and thank you so much for your kind words!
Some plants can be harmful and or deadly if misused
Mugwort is also used for lucid dreaming…glad to hear about all the medicinal uses…thank you.
Thank God I found your channel. I did a search and couldn't find you. Now here you are. It's a miracle. Small miracle but I'll take it. 💙💙💙
I drank it as tea for , period pains , and when I was feeling depressed and desalusioned.
A little bitter , but not bad , works good

You make gardening more accessible. I also don’t like growing seeds in the house. Very interesting about mugwort.
Your presentation was carried out beautifully. Thank you
What a service you just gave, great video. Great information 👍🏾
Mugwort essential oil (diffused) can cause some really, really vivid dreams.
Its good to know that mugwort is related to ragweed because I'm allergic to ragweed and have allergic asthma

If it related to ragweed my mama, when a little girl said her aunt smoked back in the Georgia 😂 in the 1940's!
lol.
YESSSSS! It's an alternative to "green". Some people mix it. It's a great sedative, sleep aid dream enhancer.

Here in California it's widely used for hillside erosion and, of course, herbal medicine.
Well that sure explains why I couldn't find it anywhere. 😢 Thanks for sharing this info!
I get mine from Richters Herbs catalog, they're in Canada. My favorite for rare and hard to get herb starts & seeds.
You bet!

Mugwort grows wild in our area, so those in my garden came from a local walking trail. :)
Add Goat rue they say it’s toxic but it helps women lactate

The reason it’s banned in some places is because “mugwort should not be used during pregnancy because it may start menstruation and cause the uterus to contract.”
Actually because it’s extremely invasive and takes over native plants.

Hi Pam, do you use loose leaf tea or tea bags? I just heard something about microplastics and tea bags.
It's banned in South Carolina and is considered invasive,
Tfs!
Will mugwort grow in Florida? I googled and still am not sure.
