Opposing force rocked that much because you'd already lived through the Resonance Cascade as the central character. Now you were going through it as an outsider looking in, not trying to save the planet, you were simply surviving with everyone else.
yeah, that's a thing i really like about opposing force. as gordon, you accidentally doomed the facility. as barney, you try to escape and save as many colleagues as you can. as shephard, you try to get the fuck out of there till the place gets fucking nuked.
What's funny is this plays at the beginning of the game, and the ending song Planet has the same beat, so it's a nice flashback if you paid attention to the music.
first time i played half life i was 7....... when i was 9 i bought HLGOTY edition and OPFOR and BLUE SHIFT. to this DAY....... i do not play the steam version. i still have those CDs. i have no idea why but this game helped me through my childhood. i still to this very day play those CDs. :)...... OH and HL+WEED= :D
It's actually possible to get the original music on the Steam version. All you have to do is search on Google on how to do it and download the music. Then put the music in the correct file.WAY better than the Half-Life music. :)

@621Chopsuey I know who Lauren is. I don't recommend writing any fanfic though unless you're really good at it. There's only been two that were any good. But they were real good. You can find them on Planet Half-Life. I myself did a comic book about a squad of Combine soldiers. It wasn't made with gmod, it was hand-drawn. Valve should totally hire me.

This song reminds me of the Black Ops going around killing all the civilians, aliens, and Marines. You know what would be sweet? If they ever went back and made another expansion, with these modern day next-gen graphics, but set it in Black Mesa, and have you play as a Black Operator. THAT should be the game where you learn everything there is to learn about the G-Man. Eh, a man can dream.
It's not the best game ever made, far from it actually. Still the best game in the HL series though IMO. Valve really should bring back Shephard in HL3 but all they care about now is making more hats to profit from in TF2.
