He'll be back. And rest assured, when he comes back to HL2 universe; Adrian will be a totally different person we know of. He can do many stuffs what Gordon and Alyx can't do: the power to rebuild a human army. He'll be very important character soon.
+Half Life 3 Do what? Eli is just a physician like Freeman. Only a person with true military background has the capability to resurrect a human resistance army (not ragtag civilian militias like we seen in HL2). Since Adrian Shephard is the last soldier on Earth not to be affected by Combine occupation's disbanding of human military, he's the only man who can do this. Freeman return is NOT ENOUGH to save the world from Combine occupation. He and the world needs Shephard return, too.
well afther HL:A being really close i have good feeling Shepard will be mentioned.maybe we will get another Pequel game.maybe valve cancelled HL3 to focus onto finishing plotholes at HL2 that are related to HL3
Just like Shepherd in that Osprey floating through an endless void of time and space. At this rate he’s going to be stuck there for a... very long time
I love the stark contrast between this and the base games closing theme. HL's kinda feels like a party, like Freeman being hired is some sort of 90's rave because of not only his inevitable assignment to save earth, but also to put closure on the grand adventure that was Half Life 1. OpFor feels very convoluted, mysterious and estranged. It fits with the mysterious nature of not only Adrian's Stasis/Fate, but also how strange the entire adventure OpFor was. Adrian went in without orders, was forced to fight against the mysterious Race X, was deemed a target by black op forces, then was plucked from reality by G-Man as he watched the bomb go off. All of that, occurring in only a few days time would muddle anyone's mind, and I feel this track perfectly captures the odd and confusing nature of OpFor's Ending compared to HL's more triumphant one.
The Saddest part is when Shephard will finally awake, he will be absolutely alone. His comrades are all dead either in Black Mesa or during 7-hours war against the Alliance. When Freeman returned, he was surrounded by his friends and Black Mesa co-workers. Shephard will not get this privilege
Or who knows, maybe some of his comrades survived just like the Black Mesa personnel we see in Half-Life 2, and G-Man will place him very close to them, just like he placed Gordon in City 17.
Actually in Gordon's locker we can se a picture of an infant that was most likely his child. Although it's mostly forgotten, getting revenge for his dead family would be a big & powerful drive to save humanity. With out it, well he would have given up on the train in HL2. Adrian's been sitting in that place for 17 years, 8 months, and four days as of today, Gordon was released from stasis in ██/██/2023 and survived the combine for 11 days and possibly 10 nights until Half-life 2: episode three never concluded but is still being worked on. judging by the title: Planet, Adrian might be sent to the combine overworld's main planet and will try to fight his way back to earth after finding out what's going on, if he can do so without getting seen. If he succeeds, then he could be released 1 year after Gordon was released. But This is just a theory I made up, so there's no answer if Shepard ever leaves stasis and is forgotten forever by Valve. Btw ignore the fact that this theory's shaped like a fat E. Edit 20/11/2021: Black Mesa was actually nuked on December 7 2000, not May 18th 2003, the calendars say december, meaning that he's actually been sitting in that helicopter for 19 years, 11 months and 21 days.
If Adrian was transported back to earth like Gordon, I would guarantee you the combine would've fallen a bit sooner and we'd have got Adrian Shepherd, the slayer of combine
Nihilanth was a resistance leadee fighting against the Combine. Xen was their last stand and the Combine hadn't found it yet. When the cascade occurred Nihilanth held the rift open in order to allow as many of his forces to escape the Combine and also an attempt to gain valuable resources and such to fight the Combine with. The resonance cascade and the death of Nihilanth lead to the Combine discovering Xen and through it discovering Earth. Earth was then invaded.
I really do feel most people antagonise the Nihilanth without realising his real motives. He was a desperate endangered soul that just wanted to hide from the combine as his species most likely got turned into war weapons
About that, someone pointed out in another video that Combine might have wanted to capture the Nihilanth solely for his ability to create portals. Imagine how much more powerful would the Combine be if they had a living teleporter.
Actually the G-man did show some interest in Barney. He had Barney as a potential subject but he was “out of range” and therefore the G-man didn’t bother recruiting him.
I also played them in that order, Blue Shift, Opposing Force, then Half Life, think about: Barney = No interested from G-Man, Shephard = Interest from G-Man, Gordon = Most interest from G-Man. I played it in the importance of the characters.
Actually GMAN shows much more interest to Shephard than Gordon because he *mysteriously* boosts Shephard’s name to the top of advanced training list. GMAN later sees Gordon as an able man and offers him a job, on the other hand, he detains shephard without any options.
@@thegoldenhotdog345 Blue Shift ended way earlier than that, it was at the end of Apprehension in Half-Life. While for Opposing Force, it started while you were in Surface Tension in Half-Life.

About halfway during the white forest skirmish. He encounters Gordon about an hour later. And gives Barney flashbacks to black mesa.
I’d imagine they find Shephard on their way to the borealis as adrians goal would be to secure it for the G-man, while Gordons to secure for the resistance and the Combines to secure for their overlords. It was led by someone else who has a military background during a week after Nova Prospekt event. 2) The death of Breen means nothing. SUBJECT: Cpl. Shepard
STATUS: HIRED
SUBJECT RELEASE IN PROGRESS...
They say Shepard still sits in that Osprey, flying through the inky black void, to the edge of existence itself..
-Players: Valve i'm confused, it's a happy ending or a sad ending?
-Valve: it's and ending, that's enough
*Gearbox
It’s gearbox plus I would say its both bad and good because he saved his life but in return he will be detained until he needs him again
The scientists didn't expect it -_- G-man who handed them the crystals was expecting it. The scientist did mention it was very unstable but not that it would cause a reasonance cascade it was possible but not gonna happen if they did it safe.
SML Reuploaded DANGER
I know that OP42 is coming out soon as a Mod.
DAMMIT VALVE, GIVE US AN OFFICIAL SEQUEL FOR GOD'S SAKE!
....I like Adrian so much.
Gordon is a bad guy in a way, they knew they had possible chances of a resonance cascade, but did it anyway without caring.
Half-life: "saving scientist? Ain't nobody got time for that"

ACTIVE FOR DEPLOYMENT
my favourite opposing force theme
Poor Shepard...
I downloaded the Opfor soundtrack off some website and replaced the HL tracks with them. It worked perfectly. The only complaint I have though is that once you load another part of the level the music stops.
I'm here 'cause of SML Reuploaded and now I don't know his regular intro music.
Just like Barney Calhoun, Adrian Shephard deserved to escape.
That would make Half-Life: Opposing Force a much better expansion.
Makes me wonder what was supposed to be Opposing Force's original route.
If valve considered these expansions actually canon and not their weird "non non-canon" ideology about the series then i believe his ending is perfect
@@AdrensphrdGamingblue shift is definitely canon, idk about op4 tho
@@sabianv2009 blue shift is connected to opposing force and you can't consider one canon without the another and infact valve never bothered thinking about the game canoncity an it was canon based on game files, raising the bar concept and ravenholm development until they got burnout from half life after episode 2 and they simply said "it's up to the gman" which is totally understandable statement especially after seeing what was the condition of half life series at that time
@@AdrensphrdGaming Blue Shift is the story how Barney escape black mesa and become the Barney we know from Half-Life 2
@@AdrensphrdGaming Blue Shift just end super early, Gordon hasn't even got to residue processing yet, meanwhile when OP4 end, Nihilanth's probably long dead and Gordon already in stasis
somewhere out there, shephard is wandering in the space, stuck in the space probably forever
Adrian > Gordon
WickyDak Gordon killed Nihilanth that was the opressor of the gene worm. Gordon spent more time in xen and liberated it. Plus he caused full overthrow of the combine in 3 days while the earth coulnt do it for 20 years. So yeah freeman faught in 2 world and he defeated every overlord inclueding Breen, So yeah I think freeman is better that sheppard.
+giorgi. giorgi ...... The Nihilanth never oppressed the Gene Worm...... in fact.. They likely never met............ Too be fair... Shepard only has that power suit while Gordon uses a H.E.V suit so Shepard in general has/had less protection during combat.
+giorgi. giorgi Freeman never "overthrows" Combine. 1) The uprising in City 17 & elsewhere wasn't started by him. It was led by someone else who has a military background during a week after Nova Prospekt event. 2) The death of Breen means nothing. He was a powerless puppet leader eventually replaced by a more powerful Advisors. 3) He has failed to kill Advisors twice, which are the real Combine supreme leaders.
Freeman is a bigger asset that Adrian because why would G-Man put aside Adrian? 20 years later and he still doesn’t take Adrian out of stasis. Gordon also did stop the Nihilanth while Adrian only stopped a Gene Worm. Obviously the Nihilanth was more dangerous... right?
It’s been a while since I’ve played Half Life so I mean...
Danger
Here from dabhdude/sml reuploaded
This is a cool track
For some reason this track always reminds me of snipers in the desert...
This track makes me think of zombies. Especially OpFor's gonomes. They should have played this track in Ravenholm.
I feel like this is Gearbox's version of the Valve theme. And if Valve's theme is Hazardous Environments, then this shall be Anomalous Areas.

SML Reuploadeds Danger Intro
@Kaxopilla or, Carbon-14, a very common radioactive isotope of carbon.
Remember, one of half-life's main themes is radioactive decay (hence the name)
