Breguet is underrated, they truly go above and beyond with their manual labor, and it shows. Dress watches may not be in vogue anymore, but if Breguet focuses on their sports collection a little more, I think they’ll have room to grow in the market. That said, I don’t think that’s what they want. They love being exclusive and overlooked. It does make them quite special after all
I actually own this watch, and I can tell you, I get so many compliments and questions about the watch and what it does. Not only does it look amazing on the wrist, but it is one of those pieces that is a true conversation starter.
I tried this on in Paris yesterday and fell in love. The prices on the secondary make this an attainable watch for many. I’m not a dress watch guy but maybe retrofit a sailcloth strap and dress it down a bit. I’m seriously considering this.
Breguet are the only boutiques that I have passed where you really get stopped in your tracks to gaze at the displays. This must be one of the coolest ones for me. it looks so 21st century and 19th century at the same time without feeling forced. Great episode!
Four years ago I choose the rose gold version of this watch over a gold Daytona. I don’t regret, I’m a watch collector and watch enthusiast. It’s still one of my grail watches in the collection.
Breguet is so underrated, that combination of a silver dial and blue markers is so gorgeous and elegant, no matter who else tries to replicate that combination, no one can ever do it like Breguet
Oh my goodness!!! I'm new to the watch scene and still cutting my teeth (mostly though your videos) but I can tell you now this is my absolute favorite! This is the equivalent of a naked street bike, where the mechanics ARE the beauty! The whole reason I want a chrono is for what's under the skin and this displays it so perfectly!
Yes. Preach Teddy, preach about Breguet. People need to realize they are sleeping on a king in the industry. PS: I didn't think you actually purchased those watches with Kevin, I was wrong lol
YES!!! This is a video I've been waiting for bc I agree one billion percent with all of this, especially the drastic quality and value comparisons. Breguet is one of the legit GOAT watch makers with so, so, so many enduring contributions to horology that history-conscious enthusiasts revel in. And the Tradition is one of my grails, though probably out of reach for many years. Maybe my next step may be uptrading an Omega and cash for a pre-owned Classique with those gorgeous guilloche dials.
Great video Teddy. I own this and was hoping nobody else would find out this secret. It is simple yet absolutely stunning and during the most boring of meetings I get to see a quiet wonder happen every 60 seconds, every time blowing my mind (and keeping me awake and maybe a little sane!).
I love this watch, it looks complicated but is time only, a timeless design. I love the retrograde seconds. A masterpiece blending both form and function. Thanks for sharing Teddy. A great comment about the water resistance of this watch, " if you're going to jump into the water with this watch you are a mad person", I could not agree more.
Breguet is so underappreciated when they make so many great watches. The Tradition series watches are great for viewing the respective movements' mechanisms. The general Classique series watches hides a number of masterpieces and gems, from the 7727 that Kevin O'Leary picked out and not being aware of its significance to the Hora Mundi models that have a very smart (and patented) dual time mechanism. Let's not even look at the really expensive Grand Complication series of watches. Breguet watches generally look old school but a number of them have really modern calibres powering them.
Great video as always. I did see your shopping spree episode and saw this watch. I used to think that these kinds of watches were over the top. Your channel gives me a better appreciation of other watch brands that are pushing the envelope when it comes to design even though they're way out of my budget.
I enjoyed your video because of the historical and informative content about Breguet. I think that's a great thing to do when talking about a brand as it is quite captivating. This serves to separate you from many other Watch channels out there. Abraham-Louis Breguet contributed much to the world of horology. He developed the Tourbillion 221 years ago. That in itself is a noteworthy accomplishment for which this brand should neither be underrated nor overlooked. In my opinion, the fact that the Breguet Tradition 7097 trades for less than a Daytona is an advantage to all those who could afford a Daytona but who see the outstanding craftsmanship of this piece and opt for it.
My mother gave me this after my phd as a gift. IT IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! For sure an underrated watch at the very height of artisanal craft. Very low profile but catches people's eyes the same time
I wanted a Rolex Explorer, my wife hates Rolex. Came across a cool looking watch that my wife DID like, a Brequet 5817 Marine. That was 8 years ago, still loving the watch. Nice thing about Brequet is it flys under the radar without all the bling. FYI, I did get a rolex a few years ago, Ha Ha
Teddy is my favorite source for watch information. So ironic- even though he has a watch business, I have a lot more confidence in his reviews vs. other “objective” reviewers who go thru gyrations to get free bee or discounted watches to review.
I'm getting the retrograde date version of this watch in rose gold this upcoming friday, and I am so excited I can't sit still! Can't stop watching videos about it
I don't know what is more baffling. That this watch costs the same as a Daytona… or that the Daytona goes for that ridiculous price point in the first place.
I USED TO OWN A ROLEX DAYTONA metal bezel - white face - the black paint in the number on the bezel came off over the course of the first 3 years In fairness, I bought it when you could walk into a shop and just buy one. I have no idea what they cost now??? But Rolex are nothing like as good as the hype. Ive had 4.
I’ve been to Basel. Breguet does amazing things. What gets me is a mass produced yuppy bauble like Rolex is so popular. Commodity products like CocaCola only survive through endless advertising. Same with Rolex. I find them boring. The tulip of the 21st Century. If you gave me a Rolex I’d sell it because I’d never wear it. Give me a Breguet and I’d probably faint. It’s not the Breguet is too inexpensive it’s the Rolex that is stupidly in demand. I’ll take a beautiful opal over a diamond every time and so will people that actually appreciate a gem based in beauty and not popularity. PS: I bought a used Rolex so I could wash my car and not risk damaging the watches I really like.
Thanks for the great video! Breguet is not that underrated. There are circles beyond Instagram and RUclips who appreciate the quality of Breguet very much and neither pursue mercantile interests in value when buying watches, nor have the desire to hold up a status symbol to the public with their watches. This target group enjoys the quality offered and the sensational execution of the movements and does not chase any hype ;-)
Thanks Teddy for another clear and concise look at another fine time piece. If someone has a collection of fine watches, then this one belongs there, as a reminder of the tradition that fine watch making has. Yes a Daytona has more sex appeal on your wrist. So after that Rolex is scored, its time for the Breguet.
Teddy - this was an unbelievable review. First video I have watched of yours and now I am going to be useless all day at work because I have to binge all of your videos.

That 7727 was the star of all the pieces selected in that video. That 10Hz mechanism is a counter-intuitive approach to the problem of creating a very high beat mechanical balance. I recall reading that one of the GPHG judges mentioned that the votes were near unanimous (if not unanimous) to award it the top prize. It's a tour de force.

Breguet forever!!!!!
Great review of a truly stunning watch! My mind is literally blown. Lol.
Great video 👍
While this piece is absolutely stunning. Would love to see a review on the breguet that Kevin O'Leary picked out. That one is a showstopper
@@samgrant83 yeah Kevin has good taste.
Such a great watch maker, with such a classy name
Nice watch ⌚️ you can see the craftsmanship
