Friendly PSA Don't forget about the buckets of standing water. One painful lesson I've learned in my planty journey is if you leave tap water sitting long enough say, in a water propagation cup, mosquitoes will lay eggs there and they will hatch. They will hatch in what seems like thousands and then get stuck in your laundry room and drive you insane for the coming months because when you think you've gotten them all, they keep manifesting out of the air and you'll never be the same after that and forever have the ability to track one to the death with surprising accuracy, but at the cost of your sanity 😂

If you use a bucket or something similar that is big enough you can put a few goldfish and some water plants in there, the fish will eat the larvae and normally they won't even need extra food

In the US, we have something called mosquito dunks. It’s safe for fish and animals and plants. Basically, it’s a bacteria that you introduce to the water that kills the larvae. I use buckets of water with this product in it to stop mosquito larvae from hatching thus reducing the amount of mosquitoes in our garden. Also, they don’t really have mosquitoes in the UK. Not hot enough.

I love this 💚 gardening is my therapy 😂
As a 30 year organic farmer I can tell you what I’ve learned is. Gardening is a hobby for most people. Done for enjoyment. The parts that feel like work are tilling, weeding,n watering. I do no till no dig, cover crops, or multi crops n the first thing I do after planting my starts or seeds or both in my case is set up a drip system. Makes water effortless efficient and stops damage like splitting tomatoes.
As a gardener I agree. Thank you for doing such a great job. 😊

I use the fallen leaves as mulch, i used to think it was so annoying blowing them away now i rake them into a pile, crush them up a bit, add water to get it clumpy and then rake it over the soil.

I am on my 3rd year of serious gardening after moving to the country.
The biggest problem I am dealing with is the Magpies.
I woke up this morning to 8 of them bouncing around my plants and one had a green cherry tomato in its mouth.
They're picking my tomatoes off the plants before they fully grow and they pecked at several pumpkins killing them.
Edit: next year I will have to net off my garden because they have only gotten worse every year. But, funny enough they left me little fish tank rocks as payments.

Its also important to water during morning or evening because water droplits on leaves can can cause plants to become burnt in the sun like a magnifying glass

For tomatoes and cucumbers in your greenhouse you really don’t want high humidity though…
Leads to disease, blossom drop and other bad things.
Other plants will definitely appreciate the humidity but just wanted to mention this as cucumbers and tomatoes are by far the most popular greenhouse crop.
