    Grab yourself a UV flashlight , then take a brush and dip some of that resin onto the broken part, hold the UV light up to it as you hold it in place , and sometimes you can get a pretty decent repair for those broken pieces

    Dipping the print in hot water is the best way to soften up the supports, they just peel off when you do that!

    I really liked this review especially as someone who was thinking about upgrading to this machine, a couple of things that I have learned from my time with resin printers
    1) replace their generic USB, almost every company sends a low quality USB that can cause problems later
    2) any sheet of letter or A4 paper can be used for calibration
    3) I always use a calibration matrix when I get a new resin type, different colors and brands need different settings to look their best, I recommend the calibration matrix V2, and just use a sharpie to write the settings used on it. Might decrease the time or increase the time to really hone in exposure time.
    4) I always try to have the most detailed part of a model at the top, it holds the detail the best, usually that's the top of a model anyways but not always.
    Best of luck, I really enjoyed this review.

    After removing the print from the build plate, use a hair dryer or heat gun on the supports to remove them easily. Heat makes resin really soft!
    For future reviews, please consider what software or slicers can be used with each printer. The more different slicers you can use, the better -- the more locked down the printer and the software are, the worse.

    I did not have the calibration paper with mine, just used a piece of paper. Even with the filter, you still can still smell the resin unless you can pipe that out of the room. My biggest concern with this printer is that you have to use Halot Box software to slice your prints. The software is extremely buggy and prone to freeze up or close out. You can use Chitubox to hollow out prints and add supports then save and open in Halot Box to slice, but it just adds extra steps to the entire process. Print quality is good. I had a power flicker and the printer does not appear to have an option to recover printing. Overall it is a nice printer with very good quality prints, but some basic fixes would make it much nicer. This was also my first resin printer and honestly I wish I had gone with a different printer that didn't have some of the issues this one has like a standard file format for other slicers and a print recovery option.

    • @mariarzyt_3D
      @mariarzyt_3D Год назад

      Chitubox and Lychee will eventually catch up on support, because those softwares were promised to be able to support this printer. I've read a bit about this and apparently Creality somehow managed to release the printer way too early and too cheap (40% instead of $40 less for a few days in US lol). The slicer software producers didn't really know about this printer. But they're working on it. I guess we'll have to wait

    Since you are new to Resin printing. here is a pro tip:
    use a heat gun to heat up the finished print to make support removal easy

    I'm having a problem with the software. When I put more than one model on the plate, slice and save it is only saving one model. What am I doing wrong? I select all before slicing but nothing.

    One of the things that caught my attention is the filter, I wonder how is the smell in your room, I give up resin printer because of the smell of it. Having an embedded filter system might worth if there is no smell.

    • @ChrisLoh
      @ChrisLoh  Год назад

      It helps a lot. I only had an oder initially, but i think it was that new printer smell. In my latest prints, I dont smell anything, but it also means you probably have to make sure you replace the filter regularly

    This is NOT 12x faster than most available printers, at 40mm per hour it's one THE slowest printers available.
    The Halot Mage PRO 8k does 170 mm per hour. That is the one your referring to, but it's not the one your are reviewing, lol.
    If you are going to do paid shill reviews at least make sure you are giving the correct info for the model you are reviewing.
