I absolutely love how you and Six never pull your punches. Calling a spade a spade in times when other creators are following a paycheck makes the both of you a more trusted source, especially when the common goal is making the experience easier and better.

Dynax Mode is a temporary transformation affecting Pokémon that was introduced in Generation VIII and is exclusive to Pokémon Sword and Shield. It grants Pokémon tremendous strength and size and allows them to use powerful moves called Max Moves. A variant of this phenomenon called Gigantamax further alters the appearance of Pokémon and gives them access to exclusive G-Max Moves.

It seems that Creality does not understand that getting rid of honest reviewers to protect a bad product is not going to work. In the long run they will only end up with a couple of reviewers with bad reputations who support them and they will still have a bad product and also their own reputation will be destroyed.....BAD BUSINESS

Let them have it, Ross, but remember that they're still one of the big dogs in the industry and try not to make it personal. They really needed to bring the A-game this time with Elegoo releasing the Saturn 4 Ultra for $400 and Mars 5 Ultra for $279, both with tilting bed mechanism. These printers have no significant flaws that I can see and the S4U at least is a joy to use. I'm still waiting for the delivery of the two M5U's I ordered. I'm having to adjust my workflow from the S3U because of how quickly prints complete, and my post process now includes air drying after the rinse in denatured alcohol thanks to your advice, so timing is even more critical. But my what beauties the S4U is turning our using Sunlu ABS-like resin. I just printed out the Loot Studios welcome pack (minus the tavern) and the details are exquisite. More to add to my pile of shame.
I own a K1 Max and an Ender 3 V2, so I have a stake in Creality I guess you'd say. But integrity matters, and I'm glad you are intent on keeping yours brother.

    • @AuntJemimaGames
      @AuntJemimaGames 2 месяца назад +1

I wouldn't say they have no significant flaws.. frankly Elegoo's plate design and solution for auto zeroing are both messy and prone to failure. That said, I think most of the rest (tilt mech included) of the features are a marked improvement from previous generations of hardware, and most people will have good results with them.

You reviewed only 60 printers. Pff. No wonder they wont take your opinions on board. Ha ha ha . Seriously though, you think these companies would want hard, matter of fact reviews, if it means the company can make a better one. I cant wait to see the next Uniformation release. I got a email of a pending release today!

It is evident that they will respond when their sales decline. Until then, they will continue to release the same subpar machines with minor upgrades or, more accurately, side-grades.
Hey Ross, your party was awesome!

    • @FauxHammer
      @FauxHammer  2 месяца назад +6

I honestly thought after the travesty that was the Mage pro, they would actually do that here. I half suspect the reason this looks so similar is because they already made so many chassis for the last one and it undersold they had no choice but to use them all again here.
I'm just so disappointed in them for doing this again, It's so misleading. surely some of this is borderline criminal to do?
just looking at their product page, I can see so many incorrect statements
-Infallible Quality Prints - no, mine both failed to live up to the quality the screen is capable of, and failed to print (they should look up the word infallible)
-Smart and User-friendly Features - how, smart features include intelligent sensing features, this has none. and user friendly is the opposite of what this UI is. they don't even explain their functions anywhere.
      - Excellent Software and Accessories - I mean, the video said it all in response to this!
And that is just the opening lines.
Are these lies? can these be taken as lies? i suppose the statements are too subjective.

Here we go... After countless hours this is what I have collected.
I own the Mage and 2 Mage pro models. I have started to use the pro on in the last 2 weeks even though I have owned it since it was released. The mage was just deathly slow. After trying to communicate with Creality techs (who were rude and unknowledgeable/ I have the email traffic to prove it) I gave up because it NEVER reached the speeds they advertised. The print quality was great if you were willing to wait longer than any other printer (even my OG Mars upgraded)
The pro model has been horrible. I am extremely experienced in resin printing. I'm retired and still able bodied mostly so I have the brain power and time. First and foremost I print cones of calibration. Failed 90% of the models. Most models would fail at layer 20/21. I know this for a fact because I have an expensive micrometer. Two instances would occur. 1- layer 20/21 will delaminate and the proceding layers will adhere to the film. 2. Pulling force will be SO GREAT that the model will be pulled from the build plate and adhere solely to the film. This is my understanding of the occurance and possible reasons. I believe that slicing models in anything except Halot box will create a 50+micron gap (at layer 21) causing print failure without a build plate adhesion loss. If you are lucky (and I really do mean that) do to over exposure (15%+) your larger models will continue to print but will slip because layer 20-21 or 21/22 will only adhere near the center of the build plate. Very small models (aprox 4mm+ diameter) have a 50-60% chance of being fully intact no issues. If you over expose the print by 15%+ then you will lose significant detail but have better chances of non-failure. I say it like this because I still have yet to have 100% success on a single build plate.
    Dynax mode... Here goes...
It is the software reading the next layer of pixels in comparison to the previous layer and then slamming the gas pedal on speed with complete disregard to decency. Sorry I had to throw that in. And guess when this really kicks in? That's right!!! Layer 21... At least that is what I believe. I watched my pro slap chop it's way into my heart 30+ times over and over… failure after failure... And when my exposure was 0.9s it would be on the build plate. When it was 1.0-1.1s it would rip clean off the build plate and be stuck to the included "high speed film."
Dynax plus is essentially Doc Brown taking Marty back to meet his parents and screw up the time line cuz LORD that thing will 1000% always rip it off the build plate. Let me be clear. These are mostly testing the cones of calibration I'm referring to. So it is consistent and singular variable changes at a time. Needless to say there are serious issues with the firmware (oldest and most current). I tested both. I have read and agree with what most of applies to the Halot Mage series from "sn4k3". (UVtools) And to make matters worse for Creality, sn4k3's eeprom dump has been blocked from working on the Halot Mage series FW so there is no way to see what the gcode is doing or even what it is capable of. If anyone has gotten this the eeprom to dump please msg me.
I refuse to give up. I am not happy with creality but there are so many of us that have sunk hard earned money into these machines. It is capable of great prints but I am 100% positive the key starts at the default gcode line by line.
Also... The " light off delay" function... Doesn't work right. sn4k3 talks about it with detailed math. If you turn it up to 3s it will help but not a guarantee to achieve success on a print. At this point I'm praying. I'm testing more as I type this but God may just be laughing at me at this point.

Having seen what Creality achieved in the FDM side over my last 10 years in the hobby I feel that we are going to be continually disappointed with the progress they make.
Creality just seems to not do much more innovation these days and just ride the brand recognition they have from the earlier FDM days.
My personal tinfoil hat theory is that because they didn't win the "race to the bottom" (Make it as cheap as possible) as they did in the FDM space they have almost given up the idea of a large market share in the Resin space, Thus the lack of investment in making advancements besides the generic screen "Upgrades" we get each release cycle, Not like they do much innovation in the FDM space anymore.. , But hey that's just an opinion from someone who's had a far too many Creality FDM machines during the hobby XD

I have bad feelings about Creality caused by an Ender 3 Pro that apparently defied every quality control check. What a monstrous piece of junk that was. Yes, I know it was an FDM printer, but it's cursed the brand name for me forever. If Creality offered a magical golden bulletproof twat for 25¢ (US) I probably wouldn't buy it

I believe Dynax is a marketing gimmick that doesn't work. Yeah, I'll admit I didn't read the manual, but that's what my first impression was, and it was close enough.
I'm honestly saddened to see that a company that used to be so beloved in the 3d printing industry is just doing the "slap a sticker on it and screw fixing any issues" thing, but they've been doing it for so long with tiny little updates here and there (just look at the Ender 3, with it's six bajillion revisions, and so many silent ones) that I don't even get disappointed when I see yet another box that doesn't work properly, and has fewer features and a worse UI than my Mars 2 Ultra.

  • @garolish

I believe dynax mode is a bullshit marketing ploy to actively hamper your settings so you think you get something great when you enable it.
dynax mode off = only max values? what? Is that why it splashes so much?
some features unlocked with dynax mode (but still hampered)
All featuers unlocked with dynax+ but your prints will not look as pretty.
Basically 3 shitty settings of which none goes on to explain what it does (lift speeds, off time, etc), just be aware its very userfriendly (?)

Thanks for the reviews and all the efforts you and other YT creators put into making these videos. Im very experienced in FDM but never owned a resin printer so your experience in considering printers is both a valuable and appreciated resource for those of us looking to make a purchase (which to be honest wont be any of the creality lineup at this point in time). I live in SE Asia, and im also British, so sarcasm runs through my viens and it goes into hyper mode when we see plainly stupid mistakes (multiple times) and as you rightly pointed out, when companies dont want to listen to their customers, let alone take the proactive and professional approach to ask users how to make better products and services. It's tough to be fair when you're infuriated. I was chuckling to myself when i saw this video pop up, as i had just pressed the button on a competitors printer having come to a conclusion early today (thanks in part to your multiple reviews) to stay away from Creality resin printers. Thank you sir.

Creality was good for one printer: the original ender 3. Not because it was a good printer, but because it was cheap. Creality doesnt make good quality products and never has. They make knockoffs that are cheap and just barely work enough that it isnt a straight up scam.

Printer manufacturers when asked to make sensible firmware changes: impossible.
This printer was such a disappointment for sure. Great swingy door, inbuilt vent, but no innovation and just ridiculous firmware.
Great job on this review and going as deep on the settings as you did! Cant have been fun.
Hopefully Creality get the message and turn their next Halot Mage into a printer worth its price tag.
Also I'll see if I can get you in contact with the rep I deal with as they seem happy to continue talking to me even though I recommend viewers spend their money elsewhere 😂

    • @FauxHammer
      @FauxHammer  2 месяца назад

Thanks Brother, and yeah, little about this was fun at all. though I obviously relish a little in the smugness that I have the freedom to say all this. But I pray they get the message from the community of people buying, or not buying these.
I would love Creality to step up and compete, they have the money, but they just don't seem organised enough to get this right. The company clearly needs to work on communication internally and externally. Tech's should actually listen to the marketing team...
If you would like to try to put me in touch with your rep, I'd love to talk to them again and offer any help that I can. But if their name begins with J, that's likely the guy who told me he had left the company...

i love mine PRO - and use it with Lychee PRO also
i have a 2024 model PRO and it is not the same as the early model Pro. mine actually has handles on the Vat, and the Carbon filter IS bolted down like the S has.
it has a pour spout on the vat that apparently some of the early Pro's do-not. it also has the DYNAX+ firmware that comes with the new S model.
(i dont use Dynax+ over plain Dynax, but its there. apparently it makes the light 120% vs 100%. so all your settings get screwed and have to learn them all over)
i did not know they made these and several other changes until after i got mine. but im really glad i got it when it did and not sooner.
and i yes, i use my resin pump - A LOT. its really not that hard to clean. just run alcohol thru it from a shot glass into a solo cup. then when im ready to fill up the vat, i usually pour it in first, then pump OUT a shot glass worth, then connect it to the 2kg bottle for when i need more later (auto fill works great).
the only real problem is that i have come close to clipping off my resin pump spout like HE did in the OG video.
but i just made a spacer for the BP and moved it forward 1/4" and no more problems. EVER. and still have LOTS OF ROOM to print with.
the only thing i see diff from the 2024 Mage Pro and the 2024 Mage S is the "Resolution" and the etching on the build plate. THAT ALL !!
other than that - mine is I-FREAKIN-DENTICAL.
I do hate how the video time lapse system works tho.... such vomit. lol
i also have an ENDER 3 MAX NEO and freakin LOVE IT. i upgraded the filament drive to a direct drive and got a Sonic Pad, and now its awesome !!
the videos are stored on it vs creality cloud.

Why would they not take a printer where all the settings are predetermined and offer incredible results?

@@FauxHammer that wasn't the point, you clearly have little experience with wide range of industrial interfaces if you complain about stuff like this
ALL manufacturers are quirky, usually you learn one control and it creates the "perfect" image in your brain, and all consecutive interfaces seem wrong, it gets worse as we age
I was almost laughing listening to your rant about the UI, it is such a typical 1st world thing, almost expected you to then add a serious side note that all that is subjective
same with that release screw handle, you complain about it like you have to do it every single minute, ok, maybe you have 100 printers doing 100min prints and you DO have to fiddle with that screw every single minute, and the fact that latch is 3 second operation and screw is 5 second operation makes a big difference, but as an engineer I'll tell you - in that environment, where you have fumes, those rubbers used for those mounts, I'd rather have the screw than a latch that may not have adjustability option, so when the rubber gets harder, you lose some of the smoothness and holding strength
then the manual lift option you said it doesn't have, just watched few other Creality videos and this same model does seem to have manual Z feed option, so perhaps RTFM? or maybe it is just an "undocumented feature", but I saw one reviewer rise it manually in 1 or 10mm increments
which brings me to screws, they look to be m4, maybe m5 size, so basically - finger tight, not palm tight, finger tight, I have repaired a bunch of broken screws, stripped heads, stripped threads, maybe you got unlucky with that screw and it was machined not to 75% standard perhaps, but I doubt it, considering the rest of complains I'm inclined to think you're a bit of a diva, and nobody has time to answer 25 questions for a product with such small margin, had it been a 2000 or 20000$ purchase, sure, but I can tell you - even 200 000$ cnc machine support operators have limits on how much time they can hold your hand, and you pretend to be experienced reviewing all these printers
so - be reasonable, put in a disclaimer at the beginning of a video that all the opinions are subjective, some more than others, else you just come off as a dumb, spoiled cu47, sorry about my French
and I'm not affiliated with them, nor with any other company, I just don't like this sort of highly subjective reviews that pretend to be objective
p.s. calibration paper sheet supposedly is in the same envelope as the replacement release film, probably would be great to include such info in manual or on the envelope, I agree

I kinda get that Creality will always have a place of sorts because your first printer was one of theirs. The same applies for me.
However: after several extremely shitty contacts with their support, I've written them off. They need to fix some serious issues and come out on top for me to give them a new chance.
Their app is rubbish, the support is unworthy of the name, documentation is non-existent.
The only things Creality had going for them (back in the days) was the ender and CR series that were a value deal... Which grew a huge community due to the easy modding.
The community plugged the holes in support and documentation for them.
I understand you can't just ignore Creality due to their market share, but please don't bend yourself backwards to try to find something positive to say. That's not how any of this should work.

I'm glad I choose Elegoo over Creality, just the simplified user experience alone makes the choice for me. The strange bed leveling behavior breaking the pump on the Pro model just screams of poor design or thoughtless design and it seems to carry over to everything they do on their resin printers. I certainly cant see myself purchasing a single resin printer from Creality. Also if they aren't willing to listen to Ross and his fair criticism they certainly wont hear a single word a customer would have to say. Easy pass now and going forward. Great review as always Ross and you are the best Resin Printer reviewer on RUclips hands down.

I believe dynax mode is a speed up printing mode like elegoos new fast mode but it soubss like it sacrifices quality big time but i get a feeling this is a loaded question 😂😂😂😂😂
Creality is very very out of touch with where there competition and what people want. Only thing i like is the built in filter/extractor with the hose since when the filter stops working at least it pumps the full smell out still
I onoy just brought my first printer and ive spent 6 months researching, comparing, watching reviews on every printer, watching what youtubers are using for what I want one for. I have to admit these guys lost me almost at the start of my journey because it feels like they are at least 2 generations behind everyone else but think there brand is worth a premium price for some reason. If they fixed a few things and added heated vat and a few ui upgrades and software features like multi exposure tests to speed up calibration and also get the price down more it would be a top contender but they aren't even competition for the other brands anymore lol

I *think* Dynax Mode at least used to (pro vs non-pro) required a different motor..perhaps screw assembly..which at the time appeared to have a seperate output on the board for.
    Short form:
I believe Dynax Mode is: A software gate feature key to enable Producing a feature and price tierd product line while maximizing the economy of mass production by allowing them to literally make the guts/hardware of each tier identical in actual capability. Greying out various level of Dyna on lower models(just so the common folk get to see what they are missing). ...but as with everything Creality..it's half baked at best and poorly impliented.

I wish i had seen this video about a week and a half ago. I purchased a halot mage when my creality LD-006 had the fep film break and spill resin all over printer and im certain got inside it too (still not sure and im not sure about paying for a replacement FEP film to confirm it). So i saw it was on sale saw that the plate was bigger and "better" so i tbought hell yeah. Ordered it and it was on my doorstep a few days later. Set up was easy and the test model one of the ones on the included usb printed like a charm so i printed one of the models my wifes been asking me to get printed for her. That one failed in a way that said somehow the bed was not leveled. Releveled the bed tried again. That failed too. So did it again and this time nothing printed on the plate which was even more odd. Cleaned the plate off pulled the vat out and did the "correct" way (use the paper method to level). Went into the slicer increased my initial layers and (exposure time was already at 30 seconds for intial layers) tried again. Same damn issue nothing sticking to the bed. So Saturday after getting home from some house hunting with my wife i tried to relevel the bed one more time. Took out everything cleaned all of the stuff and thats when i found out the home button stopped the bed 2.2mm from where my vats film was. There is no easy way to reset the 0 other than open up the printer and hit a switch. I was livid because my LD-006 worked for me and this came off as a better version of that printer. So i finally said screw this made a return order put everything back in the box it came and sent it back for my refund. Ive got a Saturn 4 ultra in the mail now and im done with creality. I hope they go out of businesses for this amount of incompetence.
